When I was first getting into op, I saw an edit and it had Law in it and Cora’s voice over top saying “I love you, kid” but because I hadn’t gotten that far in the show but vaguely knew who Law and Kidd were I thought it was Law’s voice and he actually said that to Eustass in the anime. . . . .

Misconceptions I had when starting one piece

-Shanks was a warlord. Missed the emperor thing and knew he was a big shot so my brain made the jump

-Rayleigh joined the marines after Rodger’s death. Saw a clip of him in a white jacket. . . .

-Brook was a part of the thriller bark crew before joining the SH. Self explanatory

-Law ate Cora’s devil fruit after he died. It being heart shaped and Coraźon meaning heart, it just made sense

- Doffy was the one to put a birdcage around Flevance and that’s why Law wanted revenge

I’m writing a fic where Shachi ends up in a world where Cora is still alive and brings something of his back for Law. Any suggestions on what that should be? (That’s not the coat)

Hear me out Dragon x Doflamingo soulmates au???

Dragon meets Doflamingo in the holy lands is immediately pissed off when he needs to treat Doffy like royalty. Dragon would be a cadet, a couple years older than Doffy. He is in very indoctrinated and proud to become a marine like his dad until he meets his soulmates family who he isn’t allowed to look in eyes and sees the slaves and hordes of wealth.

Dragon is the first person to ever tell Doffy no and he proceeds to lose it. Dragons life is spared because of Garp’s rank.

When Dragon hears the Donquixotes are leaving for the east blue, he’s relieved knowing selfishly they probably won’t last long. He has been feeling disillusioned with the world government and is starting to understand that the world nobles/government aren’t the keepers of peace they claim to be.

Sengoku goes to investigate and Dragon goes with him, finding Rosinante who tells them Doffy went back to Mary Geoise. He gets stopped by the navy and Treble & company get arrested.

While Rosinante and Doflamingo are technically under Sengoku’s watch, Dragons soulmate, who killed his own father is suddenly his responsibility. They strip both Rosi & Doffy of their last name and give them Dragons. Garp just laughs it off but Dragon isn’t amused. They even get the D because the grunts in the paper work office don’t know any better.

Once Doffy gets pasted some of his issues and Dragon and him become friends, he confesses he wants to be an admiral so the celestial dragons have to let Doffy look them in the eye and protect them. Kinda implying he also will kill some of them when he gets the chance.

Dragon says that would hurt his brother and confides in him he wants to leave the marines and start fighting against the government. Eventually they leave the navy without Rosinante, who is later sent to rescue Flevances royal family from amber lead, where the revolutionaries are because they think something is off.

Rosinante becomes double agent for the revolutionaries after finding out amber lead isn’t contagious and looking for a way to cure a boy they rescued from Flevance. He ends up revealing his cover to get the op op fruit.

I am not caught up on the manga (where I think we get his backstory?) and I want all of dragons past to be revealed before I start writing something like this and yes dragon and Doffy’s ages would be closer together than cannon.

I can’t do mermaid au’s (especially the ones where it takes place completely under water) because my brain is too focused on the sand, sea life in the water, and general uncomfortable feeling of not standing on the ground but floating in water. I just can’t get my brain to fall in line
