Rewatching Buck's coma episode and like. It breaks me every time, but knowing what happens with Christopher and Eddie later on in the show makes it soooo much worse. Eddie loses Chris in a nasty custody battle and Chris goes to Texas, Eddie STRUGGLES? "Angry guy"? Ouch.

PARTICIPATE IN ACADEMIC RESEARCH ON THE 911 FANDOM!

Hello everyone!

My name is Renee, and I am a professor at PSU currently working on an academic project about the 9-1-1 fandom across its history.

Project

If you are eighteen years old, in the US (university policy), and willing, consider taking this survey about your 9-1-1 fandom experiences.

The survey is divided into six categories: a review of the project, demographic information, your history in the fandom, views of representation and shipping, and reactions to Bobby’s death. Finally, I offer a space to leave additional comments.

You are not required to answer all questions and can skip sections if you prefer. All data will be anonymous.

The survey can take anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour if you want to offer detailed commentary on your beliefs.

Goals for the Project

A public infographic analyzing fandom responses across different social media platforms, noting common trends and differences. For example, were Twitter users more likely to stop watching before Season 9 compared to Reddit users? Who was angriest about Bobby?

Two major research projects in a presentation at Fan Studies Network North America and an academic journal article, preferably in an open-access journal like Transformative Works and Culture

Finally a bit about me: I have a PhD in Rhetoric and Writing, using my training to examine popular culture, i.e. language choices, rhetorical moves, etc. I am on the Fan Studies Network North America organizing committee, which runs one of the largest fan studies conferences in the world, and have won awards for writing about fandom. Finally, this show means a great deal to me, as does the fandom, and I strive to represent all your voices fairly and accurately.

Final Note: While questions may be hyper-focused on certain characters/ships due to show events, I hope anyone who enjoys the show/fandom will complete the survey and enjoy seeing the 'academic' side.

Imagine Chimney going through Bobby's desk in his office. Having to clear personal things out. It breaks his heart, but also warms him because the captain was sentimental.

Then he comes across a small blue book labeled simply "Buck." Curious, he opens and flips through it.

Kid has eating problems. Will forget to eat when stressed. Feed him, and encourage him to cook, because he likes to taste-test a lot.

Chimney remembers that. Buck mentioning getting so hungry the starving pains go away. He does remember during the shitty times when Buck lost so much weight.

-Hates Okra

-Probably allergic to shellfish and mangos. Encourage him to get an allergy test

-Allergic to Naproxen

-Allergic to heavy fragrance laundry detergents. Use gentle.

-Remind him he's doing a great job. Use positive reinforcement.

-If he's depressed, as Maddie says, hand him a child. May and Harry work too.

-He's finally gaining weight! :)

-The Buckley parents are banned. Do not ask why. Firehouse is his safe area.

-He fidgets when he's stressed. Have him chop some vegetables or prepare them for you. He loves being helpful.

-He loves his clipboard. Have him organize important events. Give him gold stars. Do not let Hen and Chimney hide it. He gets sad.

-Remind him not to read too close or in the dark. He's gonna need glasses at this point. (If he does, don't let others tease him. Tell him he looks great)

-He doesn't admit it, but his leg still bothers him. Heating blankets are in the closet in the office. Have Eddie massage his leg or send him home early if he's obviously struggling.

Chim laughs. He laughs, and laughs, and starts to cry. Of all things, he did not expect to find a "How to Take Care of Your Buck" guide hidden away in Bobby's desk.
