âBeen there,â Teddy related with an exasperated huff of a sigh. âIf I had a dollar for every time I lost my keys Iâd probably have upwards of like, three dollars.â He admitted with an honest innocence. âYâknow you probably couldâve just flagged down a housekeeper in the meanwhile. But, hey, Iâm probably not the go-to guy when it comes to losing keys. One time in back in high school, I waited hours for my mom to get home until realizing there was a spare under the mat.â
SHE SMILED, ââ I think I'm guilty of that too actually, ââ angel laughed as he told the story about waiting for his mom. ââ the house keeper idea doesnât sound too bad, you wanna follow on my quest to find one? ââ she arched a brow, it wasnât like he needed too but company was always appreciated by angel, she wasnât a loner gal. ââ of course you donât need to, maybe youâre busy. ââ

âuh, noâŚâ toni said, raising her brows at the other girl. âis this a trick question, am i supposed to know whoâs sitting there?â
ââ SOMEONE who works here? ââ angel let out a small laugh. ââ not really a trick question, ââ the girl shrugged as she sighed. ââ just lost my keys and uhh, yeah, needed some help but no ones here.. ââ

BACKING in through the door with a large box in her hands, starr didnât expect to see someone standing at the desk by themselves. âuhâŚâ she trailed off, the heavy box thudding on the floor as she set it down and brushed her hands on her pants. âi â have no idea.â she looked down at her unmarked uniform from the pembrooke and imagined how it looked. âiâm just dropping this off â it got delivered to the pembrooke by mistake. how long have you been waiting? i just called over her not that long ago.â
ââ OH, not long at all, ââ she explained as she smiled at the girl. ââ three, five minutes maybe? I just lost my keys thatâs all, ââ angel took a look at the box the girl had dropped off. ââ whatâs in it? â if you donât mind me asking, ââ

â  TECHNICALLY,  there are two people here.  â   although heâs not sure he classifies,  given his current  nobody  status.  the empty desk doesnât surprise him though.  heâs learned from his own work that  most motel guests arrive late at night with a mistress in tow,  no need for a clerk during the day.   â but no â i got no idea.   i donât work here,  just picking up a package that was sent to the wrong  SHADY motel. â
SHE CHUCKLED at his reply, tilting her head as she inspected the pale boys face, ââ wrong shady motel? ââ she repeated, lost in his words. ââ you work at some other motel?  ââ angel arched a brow curiously.Â

âI couldnât possibly tell you,â Teddy admitted, fidgeting with a loose thread on his jacket as he spoke. The last thing he wanted to be was of no help. âThough if I had to guess,â He glanced down at his watch briefly. 12:20 PM. âIâd say lunch. Lunchâs on average arenât much longer than thirty minutes, ergo, I would place my bet on 10 minutes. Whatâcha in a hurry for anyways?â
ââ IâM not in a hurry, ââ she explained as she turned her whole body to face the boy, she looked down at the thread he was fidgeting with. ââ I lost my keys.. ââ angel shamefully admitted, ââ guess I'll have to make myself comfortable, ââ she gave him a small smile as she chuckled.

ANGEL LEANED towards the front desk, pouting as she tapped her foot against the floor in a rapid pace. the door jingle made a sound and her head turned at the sound, ââ hey, ââ she spoke. ââ you got any idea when thereâs going to be anyone here? ââ the girl pointed at the empty desk in front of her.Â

âoh, man,â for one dangerous moment, it seemed as if angel had stuck OUT. eyes widening a little and lips opening into a small little âoâ, jellybean looked just like EVERY over the top and utterly offended drama student - before her features rearranged into something closer to glee, and she gave a nod of approval, âa some would say daring, yet TOTALLY valid choice. iconic is, unfortunately, not mutually exclusive with good. i VALUE queen as much as the next person, but unlike some fans, i accept their faults.â or, well⌠she tried to. jellybean would have been making a far different speech if they were on the subject of the beautiful south ( a guilty pleasure group of hers ), but⌠what angel didnât know wouldnât hurt her. ânow - this is an equally as important question, and this time, thereâs really no right or wrong answer. just listen to your heart. when youâve got a quarter to waste, whatâs your go to jukebox jam?âÂ
the girl chuckled at the other, she had such charisma it charmed her. ââ damn, you got a lot of questions, huh? ââ angel grinned, dimple appearing on one of her cheeks as she did. the girl didnât want to disappoint, this was indeed an important question. ââ would you hate me if I said boogie wonderland? I know itâs not a popular choice, but it always gets stuck in my head after itâs played, ââ she mused as she eyed the jukebox trying to remember other songs.Â

âworst-worst. like, youâve hit bedrock and just kept digging, worst.â there were, surmise to say, a LOT of contenders in jellybeanâs eyes - and so, more than one possible right answer. she was prepared to accept any out of an EASY dozen - just as much as she was prepared, if angel just so happened to name one that she actually enjoyed, to fight for that singular songs honor. âhey - take as long as you need, pal. i get how hard it is, to answer,â actually, she didnât ; a fact proven as she leant forward a little in her chair, not even missing a beat before she added, âfor me? itâs girls and boys, by blur. itâs considered some sort of comeback saviour for the band, but i think after how hard their previous album bombed, critics were willing to latch onto anything that had a discernible beat. itâs way over praised, and TOTALLY over played.â
ââpointâs made,ââ she nodded. but angel was still thinking, ââthat one by queen? yeah â you know which one â makes my brain go into some kind of red alert mode. I just canât with it, itâs so overplayed,ââ she dragged out the answer, actually not recalling most of the songs on the jukebox, after almost eleven months she still wasn't in tune (( no pun intended )) with the tracklist.  ââbut like, I get why itâs so popular, it is kind of iconic...ââ

PEACHES BEAUCHAMP:
thereâs  a  quick  look  of  frustration  that  splices  over  almost  cherub  like  features  .  only  pausing  long  enough  to  be  noticed  before  it  fled  in  recognition  .  she  said  nothing  for  a  moment  ,  not  even  making  a  sound  as  she  took  a  step  back  .  if  only  to  stop  the  liquid  seeping  into  the  only  shoes  that  werenât  tattered  and  scattered  with  holes  .  peaches  could  only  watch  before  a  barely  concealed  eye  roll  appeared  .  there  was  an  urge  to  pinch  at  the  bridge  of  her  nose  as  a  small  hand  found  itâs  way  beneath  the  elbow  of  the  girl  ,  lifting  her  with  little  trouble  .  â  chill  ouâ  would  ya  ? â  peaches  grumbled  out  .  â  and  leave  it  ,  youâll  slice  ya  hand  open  ,  angel  .  â
A GASP like breathe left angelâs mouth as peaches lifted her up, ââitâs just,ââ she paused for a second. looking down at her mess once again and sighing, her eyes were about to travel upwards again but she then noticed the other girls drenched shoes. ââdamn, I'll buy you new ones!ââ she exclaimed in frustration, why. just why did she have to be so clumsy?

THE ICE LATTE in her hand wasnât some fancy cafeteria or starbucks one, it was â of course â one of her own work. plastic cup with a plastic straw and ice cubes that were too big and already halfway out of the cup. angel was smart, but sometimes, well, she wasnât. running down the stairs with the small cup full of liquid was DEFINITELY not one of her greater ideas, and as she did the girl bumped into a figure before her; the cup in her hand dropped to the ground with a LOUD smash. ââfuck!ââ angel groaned, falling to her knees trying to figure out what to do with the mess. ââI am so sorry,ââ she looked up as she spoke, brown eyes meeting hazel ones.

ââI love questions, bring it on,ââ angel leaned back in her chair and a big grin was plastered on her face as she waited of the brown haired girl before her to ask the big question. ââgod,ââ she chuckled, ââworst? like worst-worst?ââ she mused as she took a second to think about it. she had never thought about it before, (( not that she didnât avoid some songs on there, because she definitely did. )) ââmaybe â nah, youâll have to gimme a minute to think about this..ââ
âiâve got a question for ya.â when did she never? jellybean had always been a child obsessed with the why of things, never content with accepting ANYTHING at face value. sheâd spent a lifetime asking questions - she wasnât about to change now. âyouâve gotta answer it with the very FIRST thing that comes to mind, though, âkay? thatâs real important.â that last part was debatable. she was, to put it plainly, exhausted. between the start of term work that was being laid on her at riverdale college and the extra hours she had been putting in trying to get pops back up to scratch, jellybean had never been so physically wiped out, and with everything being doom and gloom and serious of late, she needed something that was a little more CASUAL, and a lot more fun. hence - âwhat is the worst song on the chockâlit jukebox? donât even try and tell me you havenât thought about it BEFORE, cause i know everyone has - and thereâs bonus points on offer here if ya give me some reasoning, too.â

VERONICA JUMPS AT THE SOUND OF ANOTHER PERSON, snapping the book she had been eyeing in the dark closed and forcing it back into itâs place on the dusty shelf. composing herself before responding, she sighs and repeats as if she needs any clarity,  â am I closed ? possibly EMOTIONALLY, some might say. â dramatic and overdone, so very her.  â is this place closed ? i donât know. it seems like it, doesnât it ? but the door was unlocked when i got here. iâd offer to help you with whatever it is youâre after, but i only came here in search of my friend and this place smells like the elderly. we should probably both leave before a stephen king novel manifests and murders us, donât you think ? â
SHE LISTENED to the girl, voice familiar but quiet not. angel couldnât help but chuckle as she answered her question literally, closed emotionally, huh? she was just the same. ââthe door was unlocked when I got here too, just didnât think I'd see anyone here at this hour, besides maybe a janitor..ââ she started, squinting in the dark to get a better look of the girl. ââI wasnât really looking for anything, guess I was just exploring,ââ she admitted. ââand yes â leaving is probably the right decision.ââ angel chuckled again in the dark, hoping for her sake this wasnât a trap.Â

Studying the dress, she stood quiet for a second before a smile crept onto her face. â i agree. â tina held the dress that the girl had picked out for her up to her frame and posed in a nearby mirror. â sorry about the mix-up earlier. although you should consider a career in fashion, you have taste. â compliments from tina were rare and usually underhanded but in this case, she was actually being genuine.  â tina. former riverdale resident and currently, your newest friend. â a hand stuck out in front of tina as she introduced herself.Â
Angel clapped her hands together as the girl agreed with her. ââDonât be sorry, I wouldâve easily done the same mistake â but yâknow, maybe I should consider a fashion career,ââ she smiled. ââTina? Pretty name, Iâm Angel.ââ She grabbed her hand, shaking it firmly. ââNow how about putting that dress on, I bet itâll fit like a glove.ââ

ANGELâS eyes scanned the area, ( full of books and distressed carpets )  flushed cheeks crimson red as she panted. The girl had been running, but she was trying her best to look unbothered, though, that was a bit hard considering her appearance. She noticed a figure in the corner of her eye, it was late â she didn't think sheâd see anyone around here. ââH-hi, are you closed?ââ she questioned in the dark, pretty sure it was a janitor.Â
