just finished watching "the virgin suicides" the movie made me think about a lot of things. i related to almost everything, literally its like i was watching my life but from another perspective. Saw my mom in the girls mom, twins literally, an overprotective mom who thinks she's doing the best for her daughters, but she's actually killing them, i dont think she hated them, i actually think she loved them but she failed on protecting them, she was abusive and toxic, maybe she cared about religion a little too much as well, she thought she was giving them the love and the attention they needed, but you cant really teach someone how to be happy, or force them to enjoy the life you chose for them, not even a life a prison. i find it quite upsetting that most strict parents think they know what their kids want better then the kids themselves.I think it was also mainly cuz theyre girls, obviously and clearly.

The father on the other hand, couldnt stop his wife from killing her kids, he just watched, maybe he was clueless and helpless just as much as the girls. and everybody else who tried to help them.

The mom was selfish for keeping her daughters only to herself. also the fact that cecillia killed herself, and the mother still hasnt aknowledge her fault is even more upsetting.

finally i loved the movie, it made me think about things and i just wanted to talk about it.
