Garlic bean Buddha bowl. I like pretty food. And this bowl was pretty. The Buddha bowl had red rice cooked with buttermilk in a low fat rissoto kind of way. Spicy green chilli chutney and peanut crunch with super spice. Those beans are garlic butter beans. That entire bowl with the chutneys was only 205 calories. (Half serving) @chatorinikki couldn't manage the chilli chutney,but I loved it all together. Go check out a relatively low fat ,super fresh and healthy meal at the @saboro_health_food_cafe in Town. All using @dlectaproducts At first I was planning an entremet,but I thought I'd give you guys who may not be bakers a super simple idea to make your Valentine special. Love and roses in the air. So all you need is cake. You can make one, bribe a friend to make one for you or just buy one from a store. Split a cake in the centre. Pipe dots of Frosting. Top with the cake Frost again. Sprinkle gems, cut berries stud macarons, little hearts , disco dust ,flowers , whatever ... Just spread the love and share the calories. Use that tub of Dlecta cream cheese . . . . . For the best Cream Cheese Frosting.... Whisk 100 GM's butter( salted or unsalted) with 1 tsp vanilla essence. Whisk in 200 GM's of icing sugar. Which will make this an extreme workout... Now whisk in 150 GM's of cream cheese. Place in a zip pouch, snip off the end and pipe dots on your cake. . . Something salty to balance out the sweetness of Valentine's week. And these are gluten free. Crackers made with Rice and Ragi flour , flavoured with Rosemary and nigella with a bite of almonds. These go superbly with chai. Couple of things you need to be careful of,when you're using gluten free flour. I'm slowly discovering ancient grains and their flours. These grains/ flours are very healthy. Unless you have an allergy to gluten, eat these in combination with wheat and wheat products. Let's face it , gluten is a very maligned protein. Valentine's week smoothie bowl. So while we're still making up our minds about what to make for Valentine's using @dlectaproducts this super cute smoothie bowl will help us balance out the indulgence in store. And a lesson in life. Yogurt, frozen banana and frozen strawberries. With cocoa nibs that were soaked overnight because they are then easier to digest. Topped with kiwi and a crushed Almond 💓. The strawberries look so pretty,but today we're mighty sour , royally screwing the sweetness of the banana. Like a nice guy, The banana was walked over by the sour strawberries and kiwi. Eat healthy tonight. Trying to eat healthier to balance out all the chocolate and desserts that I've been eating. Almost all protein ,very low fat and a whole lot of colour. The baby spinach? Growing at home in my kitchen. The grain? Millets with boiled rajma . Zucchini noodles seared with beans in a cast iron skillet. Also some low fat paneer and cherry tomatoes for company. Leftovers make the best desserts. This was a boozy ganache , leftover after frosting a chocolate cake. Sitting Pretty in the freezer and staring at me for the last 15 days. That was my leftover cookie dough. So I rolled out some dough, baked it blind and filled with some of that boozy ganache. I so didn't have the patience,so I defrosted it in the microwave. Moral of the story? Patience may be a smooth operator,but slightly lumpy is more human. Served with strawberries and salted caramel sauce. No patience to demould the tart shell too. Also the light of the setting sun is my favorite.
