News Alert! Old-ass Videogame GIFs Return in Huge-ass Archive!

SOME CAPITALS SO YOU KNOW IT’S A PRESS RELEASE – Leon, the creator of Animated Screenshots (or “ASS”), the Internet-famous fully original game GIF blog that closed down forever one year, one week and one day ago, announced today in this very sentence that the GIFs the blog had accrued over its three-quarters of a decade of life were now available in an archive on Leon’s website:

“A lot of you may have noticed,” Leon began this paragraph, “that some of the oldest GIFs on ASS had become broken links, and many more had been forced by recent Tumblr updates to be crushed down to smaller-than-original resolution, ruining the crisp 1-to-1 pixel ratio that I had taken great pains to consistently provide over the years. Plus, one of the Darkstalkers GIFs got flagged as porn despite the nude man in it VISIBLY not having any genitals. Well, in my archive, all those pains are gone! Just search for the game name of your choice, and all the GIFs for that game should be right there. Or click the “Random” button in the corner for timewasting frivolty!”

Wow! Can you believe you just read a surprise announcement post on a beloved dead blog, and it DIDN’T try to sell you a crappy coffee-table book anthology of one fifth of the blog’s posts? “Animated Screenshots: The Book, on Amazon for $39.99” is what it would’ve said. Thank goodness you’re not living in THAT timeline!
