Hello! in the guidelines it says {non-paragraph reply does not count towards activity} Does that mean that shorter replies aren't allowed/don't count as activity?
Hi! Shorter replies and things like text message replies are totally fine and would count as activity, assuming you’re matching the effort and energy of your writing partner in the thread! This guideline mainly applies to things like photos or muse posts.

Hello, members (and lurkers)! I apologize for Ann Arbor's extended absence; without getting too into the weeds on anything, I underwent some scary medical stuff and was unable to hop on and ensure everything was running smoothly here. That said, I am officially doing much better - good enough that I'm online doing some light housekeeping and filling up the queue on our promo blog! Feel free to pop by and say hello, or ask any questions you may have for us! We're looking forward to getting back into the swing of things!

No, we have no affiliation with that group - it looks lovely, though!

"I'm taking all the negatives in my life, and turning them into a positive."
holly (li hua) chase
Age: 33 Occupation: Ice Skating Instructor Neighborhood: Northside
biography
TW: death, child loss
Holly Chase was very nearly born on the ice. She spent evenings and weekends watching her father as he coached the local boys hockey team and times in between following behind her mother as she rehearsed in the off season for Disney on Ice. Unlike her figure skating contemporaries, Holly didn't choose to get into competitive figure skating until she was 15, after finding a coach who would be willing to help her hone her skills despite being much older than those who had been on the competitive circuit for years.
Holly's competitive figure skating career would end twice in the five short years she was active. The first time was when she was 17, after learning of her pregnancy and being unable to hide the growing belly the further along she got. Despite not being able to compete, Holly continued to train and condition and resumed her rigorous training shortly after the birth of her son, Samuel.
The second time her career ended came after the hospitalization and subsequent loss of her son, only three years later. Holly wouldn't learn of her child's hospitalization until after qualifying for a state level Grand Prix. Against her better judgement, Holly would chose to compete, believing that waiting around in a hospital waiting room would do her no better than staying where she was, rushing to the hospital afterward.
After the untimely death of her child, Holly quit skating altogether, quietly grieving and placing the blame on herself for the events that transpired. It would take Holly nearly a decade to return to the ice she had once found home and began to give private ice skating lessons, slowly finding her way out of the fog of grief she buried herself in.
HOLLY CHASE has the faceclaim of SONG YI and is written by DIA.

do you guys have a rule about pocs? i didn't see one but i wanted to double check before i ended up working on my applications!
Hi! We actually just had an ask about it recently which you can see here - we haven’t formalized a diversity rule yet (hence why you haven't seen one in the guidelines - apologies!) but, as an admin team we anticipate and would enforce - at a minimum - that of the four characters a writer can have in Ann Arbor, at least two of them are representative of marginalized peoples. We look forward to seeing your applications!

Do yall have a discord??!
Hi! We don't have an OOC discord for the group, no - we utilize a blog in the effort to remain inclusive and mindful of members who may not have discords. That said, we definitely encourage members to use their personal discords for plotting/connection if they so choose!
