I’d also like to add, that the only reason we celebrate this date in Portugal as the day of our freedom, is that the military prevented a political coup meant to install a second dictatorship on the 25th of November. This time, a communist one.

Happily, that didn’t happen. But I’d like the Portuguese Communist Party to stop gate keeping the festivities and glory of the revolution. They played a part in it and an important one, but we said “Fascism Never Again” and that included communist regimes.

I’m glad the parliament is finally discussing including the 25/11 in our school’s History program.

It’s perhaps one of the most beautiful revolutions in history, it’s a shame not more people know about it.

Only two people died in the military operation that abolished the right-wing fascist dictatorial government of Portugal. 50 years ago today, instead of bullets, machine guns fired red carnations.

The dictatorship didn’t allow freedom of speech, so dissent was spread through songs on the radio with hidden messages. Two of these songs were used as good-to-go signals for the insurgents.

If nothing else, the main takeaway from all this information Oliver has shared the past few days should be that a lot of people fought like hell to tell our stories—queer stories. Queer people fought like hell behind the scenes on the front lines of a power-struggle we weren't even fully aware of, and the level of gratitude I feel toward those folks is immeasurable.

forgive me for being this dark. but all these people saying Taylor Swift is too perfect and too privileged to suffer would have pitied her and championed her as an underdog if she had successfully killed herself like she said she wanted to over and over on TTPD.

Movies would have been made about the last few years leading up to her death, they’d make theories about whose fault it REALLY is, they’d shame and scold each other for how they treated her, comparing her to Marilyn Monroe and Whitney Houston and Amy Winehouse. And she would be dead just the same. And they would learn nothing.

They’re playing Drown The Witch. If she lives, her life isn’t that bad. If she dies, oh my god, she was suffering, we should’ve known.

Insane things that Will did that make him much worse than Hannibal:

He had a gun with him when Hannibal stabbed him and he didn't even try to fight back, he let himself be held as his bowls were falling out

He foreplayed with his therapist during therapy

He had to be stopped from shooting a guy crawling out of a horse all because he had psychosexual rage towards his therapist and wanted to take it out on the guy he was supposed to catch

Flew to Europe to sneak around Hannibal's old property, called the scar on his stomach a 'smile' and forced Chiyoh to kill the guy she's been keeping a prisoner because he wanted to see what she would do, then turned his corpse into a grotesque art piece with no witnesses to that

He sailed to Europe and told the detective there that 'he doesn't know what he'll do when he sees Hannibal so he should be careful' ?? (brother you're there to catch Hannibal....)

He sat with Hannibal in the gallery saying the most romantic shit ever, failed to stab him and then he just let Hannibal dig the bullet out and drug him??? (you can't convince me he didn't have an ounce of energy to fight back or see that coming mr I tell the future with senses)

He started combing his hair back after Hannibal tried to saw open his brain... ok whore

He got jealous when Hannibal started admiring a serial killer

He never once complained about eating Hannibal's cooking & he KNEW it was people...
