Maria Monti, a multi-faceted muse who's inhabited the worlds of film (appeared in Leone & Bertolucci works), stage, cabaret, avant-garde and experimental music, will turn 90 on June 26th.
Il Pavone is a beautiful track from her 1974 album Il bestiario.

Alfred S. Mira, Greenwich Village, 1930s. Oil on board.
The exact location of this painting is uncertain. It could be where Greenwich meets West 13th Street or 11th Street. The site could also be Seventh, Greenwich and West 11th, across from where St Vincent’s used to be. The tower in the right hand corner looks like the top of the (now) Jefferson Square Library. Those spots claim to be the diner in Hopper’s “Nighthawks.”

This guy paid a visit to our tickweed in the garden today, was kind enough to pose for some photos.
Not a butterfly expert, but thanks to the internet, i believe he's a Great Spangled Fritillary (Speyeria cybele).
