in my games astarion has been lucky so far that he has not been the type of my characters who like casual sex and/or Lae'zel got them first because otherwise this would be the third time he gets dumped during his big love confession in act 2 because like. you did say it was casual.

whenever u are playing a video game and u think “this sucks. why wouldn’t this npc trust my character completely? why would they criticise their decisions when my character made the best choice available to them? why would they withhold information from my character and act according to their own agenda instead of trusting them?” that’s because it’s YOUR job to make a character who kind of sucks. and it’s not the game’s fault you didn’t do that

#i agree but also I feel like a lot of times people are simply not taking into account that they cannot mary sue their way out of a game #that actually has good writing and good written characters #it's like the common complaints about alistair emotional reactions or anders refusing to have you help. this is not about you!#also like what does it even mean to bring a morally correct and always pure character to dragon age? like it's not even a thing the setting #lets you do imho #whose sense of morality. which morality. what is morality #there is a reason why dragon age does not have a light side/dark side system or a paragon/renegade system but instead it goes by approval #approval of your fucked up companions #because in its conception of actually dark fantasy or gray morality those things were supposed to be complicated as hell

ngl 90% of why I finally let volo gauge one of my characters' eye out is so she and wyll can be one eyed folk heroes matching besties as they deserve <3

however this sucks volo give her the prettiest eye prosthetic ever so not only it's not even noticeable but also it looks basically the same as her natural eye colour. like okay now she can see everything but this is a cop out. he should have just handed me a rock he found in his pocket and gone there! basically the same! I made it do a cool trick tho so you don't kill me
