Joe rushes forward, sliding on his knees across the floor and he's by Nicky's head. He hovers over Nicky, grimacing. He looks away before breathing sharply and looking back, hand still hovering.

This is his least favourite part. He hates watching the others die, too, but it's so much worse when it's Nicky, his Nicky. He'll never get used to seeing Nicky's body so limp and lifeless when he is usually so full of life, of love, and joy, and warmth. Nothing ever feels as wrong as seeing Nicky dead.
