And they were roommates
Hiiii bestie!! How are you doing? 🩷
Just wanted to know if you'd like to get ice cream sometime? I heard there's a new unicorn drink and oh my goooooooood. Anyways, just wondering!
Enid, your overuse of color and pictures is as eye-assaulting as ever. Ice cream sounds tolerable. Unicorn drinks sound like an abomination. I can practically feel my teeth rotting through the screen.
I suppose I'll accompany you. Someone has to make sure you don't impale yourself on the chocolate horn topping. What an undignified end.

Do you think Wednesday is consciously cosplaying Sherlock this season. Like her plaid coat thing is so Sherlock Holmes coded, clearly she’s been reading some Conan Doyle smh.

I just wanted to come back to this but from a different angle because I’ve recently read a few things and I’m pretty much almost certain that Gough and Miller are just misdirecting, have had their words massively spun out of proportion and/or have very little actual influence on what will and will not happen in the show.
I never really knew the context for all the “wenclair has been denied by the creators” stuff but looking into it the main source is a right leaning news outlet and two out of context quotes.
to qoute u/d1wendigooner (charming username I know 🙄) on reddit
We also need to remember that almost every single thing these two have ever said in interviews ends up being the opposite of what we actually see onscreen. They tend to describe the show the way they want to view it, but that’s rarely what’s ultimately shown. On top of that they now have a less significant role than in Season 1, meaning their personal preferences aren’t the deciding factor.
Just because they want or don’t want something to happen doesn’t mean it will or won’t. They know Wenclair is one of the most anticipated elements of the show. They’re not going to spoil that, and they’re absolutely justified in misdirecting fans to keep a reveal under wraps. This kind of deliberate misdirection isn’t uncommon it’s actually happened in multiple shows such as atypical with casey and izzie (creators said they were JUST friends until they got together) Adora and Catra (0 hints of romance in interviews before they got together) clarke and lexa ( creators downplayed their entire interaction in interviews before they became canon)
But even then Hope Sloop (the writer of the article all this misinformation came from) just put words into their mouths.
Sorry, Wednesday and Enid fans, it’s not happening and most likely never will.
was never stated by anyone else, only their article.
While there are plenty of fans who tune into Netflix‘s Wednesday in hopes that Jenna Ortega‘s titular character and her mismatched Nevermore Academy roommate, Enid Sinclair (Emma Myers), will one day see the light and realize they love each other, series creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar say that is not in the cards.
The source for this audacious claim was a qoute which only stated that their close relationship was central to the show and frankly to me the qoute reads less as a denial of wenclair and more of an attempt to tiptoe around giving an answer in either the affirmative or negative.
Miller:
It’s amazing that they’ve been embraced in that way. You have a show that is about, at its core, these two teenage girls who need each other and have found that connection. And they’re very, very different.
Gough:
It’s a show about female friendship and people can read into whatever they want, which is great. That’s the beauty of television people can take ownership but they’re very much friends. It’s really a show exploring female friendship.
Millar just doesnt answer the question at all like "Wow thats great people said that. Arent they just great contrasting characters" is such an obvious attempt to dodge the issue. And Gough isnt much better, sure you can read what he said as a denial of wenclair but the only thing that really suggests that is "but they're very much friends" and frankly thats just true, at the moment its very factual that they are "just friends" but that doesnt talk about future plans for their relationship and again reads more like a wishy washy "yeah I saw people saying that too, its great that people are saying that, they are good friends arent they." than it does a straight denial of wenclair. These two qoutes (which as far as I can tell are the only basis for the claim) are not enough to say such a definitive thing such as "it's [Wenclair] not happening".
and lets not forget the two are supposedly working on an entirely different, unrelated, Addams Family project for one of netflix's competitors which would suggest to me at least their influence on the show wouldnt be quite is high as we have been lead to believe. At the very least their long term attention is drawn elsewhere.
We’re working on it with Amazon MGM and with Kevin Miserocchi who runs the Addams Foundation, he knew Charles Addams and the keeper of the Addams flame, and with Gail Berman and John Glickman. We’re rebooting the animated film franchise. So it won’t have anything to do with the two films before it, nor is it connected with this show. It will be a brand new *Addams *feature. There’s not really much we can say about it, because it’s in the very early stages
Turning to Netflix's own PR and marketing moves as of late they have been very odd if we are to take what we have been told to believe about Gough and Millar's recent statement. For one they are constantly pairing the two in all marketing, if theirs an interview about Wedneday its very likely to feature the two of course this can be explained away as them being at the centre of the show (even though enid was hardly in season 2 part 1 but I digress), what cannot be expained in that light would be the interview with PRIDE on the "innate queerness" of the show. Not only this but Wenclair coded stuff is constantly being promoted by netflix, and all their official accounts are like 80% enid and wednesday. Also to be taken into consideration is the ammount of queer people actually behind the scenes on the show from actors to musicians (and supposedly with more on the way in part two). So like to review we have no evidence to support the claim that wenclair "wont happen" and a lot of circumstantial evidence to believe that most people behind the scenes, including Netlflix themself to be at the least open to wenclair (and I didnt even mention the way Ortega and Myers talk about their characters relationship). And finally I want to quickly address that qoute about Tyler and Wednesdays relationship on screen. I think the qoute is entirely accurate to say that the tension between Tyler and Wednesday comes from Wednesdays fear that she is destined to be drawn to somebody like tyler, the entire scene with Wedneday and Tyler in part 1 really shows this but there is not a hint of romantic tension between them, thats not the direction their relationship is going as far as I am concerned. Tyler acts as like a dark mirror of wednesday, he posseses all of wednesdays worst traits; a love of violence, narcacism, lack of empathy, etc. and its this struggle inside Wednesday that makes up her entire character arc, she is learning to be more selfless, more empathetic etc Tyler on the otherhand revels in his lack of humanity. So yes their relationship is central to the show, its central because Wednesdays development is central (and for Wenclair to work at all in the first place wedneday needs to confront these negative parts of herself).
Sisterhood here, sisterhood there... a decent writer would know that, if Wednesday ever forgave Tyler and started dating him, then she'd lose everyone.
Enid, Eugene... her own family could never look at her in the same way. They all risked their lives because of him, being left with physical and psychological scars for the rest of their existences.
We're not simply talking about the toxic guy that your friend keeps getting ghosted by and you help her with... he's a murderer, an abuser and someone who was ready to enable genocide.

Sounds like you are dodging the question to me.
When will you kiss Enid. It’s so obvious you’re in love!
Your question reeks of a middle-school hallway rumor. 'It’s so obvious' is usually what people say right before being proven wrong in the most humiliating way possible. Despite this, I have no desire to prove you right or wrong.
If it brings you comfort to believe in romantic inevitability, then cling to it like a life raft. You're evidently a much greater ship captain than detective since you have zero evidence, no corroborating witnesses, and nothing admissible in court. Good luck convicting me.

I still feel your well oversimplifying things here but it seems your mind is rather made up on seeing Tyler in this pretty basic light so there’s nothing more to be said on the matter.

Honestly I’m kinda regaining hope for final episode of season 2 last minute wenclair moment.
Like imagine this, Bruno gets really jealous and and goes on some aggressive rant near the end of like episode 7 which makes Enid break up with him and realise she’s been in love with Wednesday the whole time and episode 8 has her trying to tell Wednesday this only for Wednesday to be the one to confess she’s in love with her (maybe that’s what that leaked scene is)
Is this cope…. Probably but honestly I feel like wenclair isn’t dead yet, there’s a small chance, like 5% chance.
BRUNO'S NO NICE BOY. 🚩🚩🚩

ok about Enid and Wenclair.
Okay, here’s the thing, about Enid plot this season.
Every time someone brings up this idea about Enid, how she changes and yada yada, I just want to say: her plot is actually really relatable. I used to be a loner like Enid once was, and I can tell you, it’s not fun. Wanting to be part of something and not being able to is incredibly painful.
I think for most of Season 1, Enid is lying to herself a little. She says things like, “werewolves are messy,” or talks negatively about the toxic pack mentality, but she is just lying to herself. Deep down, she wants to be part of the pack. She tries to pack herself up she learn a little about mental health(she even references PTSD she know a little) and because she’s not accepted as one of them, she tries really hard to be the perfect version of herself, dreaming about one day to earn their respect, even if she couldn’t wolf out, and you can tell she’s trying to hold it all together. She hides her pain and her anger behind this cheerful, bubbly rainbow persona so people will like her.
But guess what? That’s just a persona.
That’s where Wednesday comes in.
Wednesday enters Enid’s life and completely shatters the perfect little persona she built for herself. She pushes Enid to the edge, calls out her flaws, and is always brutally honest with her, almost as if she’s saying, “I don’t give a sht about your perfect act.” And maybe, for the first time, Enid thinks, “Okay… maybe I can just be myself. This girl clearly doesn’t give a fck, so why should I?”
That’s when they start to grow closer. And just like Wednesday, Enid begins to let her walls down too, hers are prettier, sure, but they’re still walls. And over time, she starts to evolve. To the point where she finally tells her mother that she’s fine with who she is.
But then, suddenly, almost out of nowhere, Enid becomes what she always wanted: a werewolf. She’s over the moon because finally, she thinks she’s achieved everything she dreamed of.
But… is it really what she wanted? Or is it what society told her she should want?
Because even now she is a werewolf, it’s still a trap. Just because she’s finally a werewolf doesn’t mean all her problems are magically solved. Now she has new expectations to live up to. And on top of that, the one person who accepted her for who she really was, who saw past the persona, is now pulling away from her.
And yeah, you could say, “But what about Ajax?”
Come on. Ajax doesn’t really get her. She’s still putting on that persona with him, trying to be liked. She doesn’t want to go back to pretending that way.
Even with Bruno, she’s wearing a mask, this image of a popular, confident girl.
But the real Enid? She’s a mix.
Yes, she is confident, but she’s also scared.
She has a lot of anger, but she’s also incredibly sweet.
She wants to be part of the pack, but she also wants to be with her girl.

Listen I’m starved for wenclair content. Ao3 is great and all but only some of it actually feels like the characters. I need more. More wenclair.
Wednesday needs to be kissed by the pretty wolf girl. It needs to happen. I need to see it. It’s necessary.
new person: i’m late to this fandom/ship.. there’s not much point writing fic/making art for it is there?

Again I feel like you just don’t understand the character at all. “Certain choices” were his own but only after he had been told and taught how to feel about them, what to think, etc. Gough is not wrong to see Tyler as a tragic character at all and it’s not a “pity party” to recognise that Tyler is still very much a victim of circumstance (being a Hyde) and again literal grooming and months long torture.
Tyler *did* enjoy what he did but he only did so because of his circumstance and it’s not wrong to recognise this. It’s certainly not an attempt to sanitise him and neither is it an attempt to get him and Wednesday back together.
