Witch Tip For The Day - Small Magics
Once you advance beyond the basics (pretty much when you start moving from What and When to How and Why and feel a decreased need for peer review alongside a greater trust in your own judgment), a goodly part of your witchcraft will be made up of things that you will never be able to explain to other people. Little personal rituals, intuitive understandings, flashes of insight, spur-of-the-moment spells, the use of unorthodox items and components that suit your needs and purposes.
You will find ways of working and feeling and connecting and casting that will be unique to you and your life experience. And you may not feel much like sharing the finer details. If you had to write it all out, it probably either wouldn't make much sense to anyone but you or it would be difficult to put into words. Many things will boil down to, "I just do the thing because of reasons."
You'll also find that a great deal of your craft will be made up of small magics that you do reflexively or out of habit or when the opportunity arises, as opposed to large-scale highly intricate castings which require lots of planning and preparation. And in a broader sense, without getting into the whether-to's and the why-for's of various traditions, that is how it should be.
Everyday personal magic is just as important to know and understand and practice as any full moon ritual or choreographed group casting. Because those small magics will be the heart of what makes your craft yours.
It does not particularly matter if your spells are powerful. What matters is that they are EFFECTIVE.
Happy Witching!

reblogging bc people keep interacting and it seems like a widely-shared concern :(
weird question for anyone who has been in the witchy youtube space since the early/mid-2010s:
has anyone been keeping up with azura dragonfaether recently? she used to go by dragonfeather369 and now her channel name is the draconic priestess, but she still uses the name azura.
i was obsessed with her channel in middle school, and she really helped get me into witchcraft initially.
she’s rebranded a bit recently and the whole situation strikes me as a bit…odd.
her bio says she is the founder of draconic wicca, but she’s a muslim witch now so i’m not really sure how those two things jive because they’re both religious practices. i’m all for making your own spiritual path, but it seems a bit odd because half of her videos are about her being a muslim witch, and in those videos she dresses modestly and wears a hijab, but then in other videos there is absolutely no mention of islam and she exclusively talks about draconic wicca, also not wearing hijab while doing this. it’s not my place to judge someone else’s religion or how they practice it, but everything seems weirdly disjointed and nonsensical in a way i can’t really articulate well. you’d have to check out her channel to see what i’m talking about. maybe i’m overreacting but something just seems off.
also, i thought dj conway really founded draconic wicca (or a similar path?) which is extra weird because i remember azura reviewing conway’s book on her channel wayyyyy back. it seems weird to claim yourself as the founder of a religion when you supposedly practice another religion.
additionally, her comment sections are weirdly uncritical. while some of her videos contain basically an hour of the exact same point repeated over and over again in a very rambly and disorganized way, no one seems concerned about her mental state. no one asks how she can be wiccan and muslim at the same time, either. there seems to be absolutely zero curiosity about how her path actually works despite that being the point of her whole channel.
in one video she’ll talk about spells just being about setting the mood for her prayers, and not manifesting anything at all because it’s sinful. the next will be about how to cast a spell in draconic wicca.
the whole thing is just a little concerning to me. also, all of her captions and comments are in the third person now?
i need somewhere to talk about this because i don’t really understand what’s going on and it seems like she’s changed so much. i think comments of concern are getting mass deleted.
once again, i’m not actually commenting on her religious affiliation, more that everything seems a bit weird, contradictory, disorganized, and devoid of substance.
if you haven’t seen her in a while, check her channel out and let me know what you think. am i overreacting? something just seems really off.

Graveyard Etiquette
for witches, wanderers, and the quietly curious
Speak softly. The dead do not sleep, but they listen.
Never walk directly over a grave. Circle around with respect.
Leave offerings only if they are natural: flowers, stones, a whispered prayer.
Ask for permission before taking anything — even a leaf, even a photograph.
Do not bring loud music, disrespect, or ego. You are a guest.
Coins on tombstones are for the dead, not souvenirs.
If you cry, do it freely. Spirits understand grief.
Do not perform magic on a grave unless explicitly invited — by the spirit or by blood.
Never disturb animal life. Cats and crows are guardians here.
When you leave, turn back once and thank the cemetery for having you.
Some places remember. Some places respond. Walk gently.

How to Create a Cozy Morning Routine with Your Gods
Because Tumblr really had the audacity.
I’m writing this because Tumblr — in all its chaotic, algorithmic glory — served me a sponsored post titled: “How I Create a Cozy Morning Routine with God.”
And look, no shade to those who find peace there. But my deities sip tea, not preach sermons. So here we are: a pagan’s guide to starting your day with divine connection, gentle witchcraft, and the kind of sacred stillness that doesn’t require Gregorian chants or three hours of breathwork.
This isn’t about performance. It’s not about what looks spiritual — it’s about what feels sacred. It’s your cozy routine. Your divine dialogue. Your little altar to alignment in a world that rarely gives us time to breathe.
Creating a sacred morning doesn’t have to look like a full-blown ritual with incense smoke curling over a mountain of offerings (though that’s always welcome). Sometimes, it’s just about starting your day with awareness, intention, and a quiet nod to the divine — in a way that fits your lifestyle, practice, and energy level.
This post is for witches, pagans, polytheists, spiritual wanderers — anyone who wants to turn their morning from “chaotic scroll-fest” to “divine soft launch.”
🌅 Why Mornings Matter
Mornings are liminal — thresholds between sleep and wake, dream and duty. They’re a time when the veil is still thin, your energy is untouched by other people’s chaos, and your spirit hasn’t yet been hijacked by email notifications or existential dread.
In many traditions, dawn is sacred. It’s when prayers are whispered, water is fetched, and offerings are made. Even the sun itself — Helios, Amaterasu, Ra — is a deity in many pantheons. Morning is divine by design.
So why not treat it that way?
☕ Ways to Invite the Sacred Into Your Morning
Whether you’re up with the sun or rolling out of bed at noon (no judgment — time is a construct), here are some gentle, flexible ways to weave magic into your mornings:
🧘♀️ Breathe Before Anything Else
Before your feet hit the ground, pause. One hand over your heart, the other on your belly. Breathe deep. Call your name back to yourself. Say good morning to your gods, spirits, or self. Yes, this counts as a ritual.
🌞 Greet the Sun (or the Sky, or the Rain)
If you can, step outside. Let the light (or clouds or wind) touch your face. Offer a short prayer to the spirits of the day. If you're inside, open a window or simply face the direction of the sun. It’s about connection, not perfection.
🕯️ Light Something With Intention
A candle. A stick of incense. A stove burner. Fire is sacred — use it to anchor your day. Say something like: “As I light this flame, I welcome clarity, protection, and peace.” Simple. Effective. Witchy.
🍵 Sip With the Spirits
Make your tea or coffee slowly, like a spell. Stir clockwise with intention. Offer the first sip to your ancestors. Let each cup become a communion. If you're out of time, even just holding the warm mug and whispering a thank you to your guides will do.
📿 Pull a Card or Rune
Draw a daily tarot card, rune, or omen. Let it guide your focus. Ask, “What do I need to know today?” Write it down. Reflect later. It’s not about divining the future — it’s about tuning into the present.
✨ Offer Something (Even Just Your Time)
Offerings aren’t always food or wine. You can offer your breath, your first moment of stillness, your morning walk, or even a song. The gods and spirits often care more about your presence than your possessions.
💡 Remember: Your Routine Is Yours
You don’t need every crystal laid out in order. You don’t need to know five chants in perfect Latin. You don’t even need to be fully awake.
What you do need is intentionality — that quiet, reverent moment where you decide: “Today, I move with purpose. I speak to my gods. I show up to my magic.”
Make it five minutes or fifty. Make it daily or just when you feel off-kilter. The magic is in the showing up.
🕯️ Final Thoughts
Mornings don’t have to be chaotic. They can be holy.
They can be when you check in with your spirit guides. When you talk to your ancestors over coffee. When you remind yourself that before the world gets its hands on you, you belong to yourself and your path.
And no matter what Tumblr says, your cozy spiritual life doesn’t need to look like a Pinterest board from Bible camp.
It can look like ash-smudged teacups. Like mismatched socks and sleepy chants. Like whispered prayers before brushing your teeth. Like giving thanks to the sun while feeding your cat.
It can look like you — exactly as you are.

Modern witch tips ✨️
Apartment rules edition
Many people live in apartments where you have a shit ton of rules to follow. Here are some tips <3 (coming from a witch who is prepping to move into one)
No candles/open flames/smoke? You can use fake candles for the vibe, wax melts for the smell (can be decorated like you would a candle), just spray air fresheners (you can make your own for cleansing, using moonwater, vinegar, and certain herbs), or cleanse with sound (using bells, music, singing, incantations, etc)
Use command strips/hooks to hang your decor.
No/limited window space? If you're trying to charge via moon or sun, you can sit the things in your car (if it is safe to do so)
Simmer pots are a great tool as well, they smell great, no flame, no smoke and you could even toss them in a slow cooker and not have to watch it.
Hang cinnamon above your doors/windows (or put a single stick on top of the frame) to keep out negativity
WITCHES BELLS ON YOUR DOOR. This is a safety thing. My mom hung a bell on a string for our dogs to ring to use the bathroom, and it's stuck with me, because if anyone tries to open your door, you will hear it. Make it witchy by doing witches bells for protection.
Cleanse and ward your space, lock your mirrors and your windows and your doors (spiritually and physically)
Sprinkle salt on your doorstep to keep negativity out
Windchimes/suncatchers to keep energy positive
Paint or draw sigils on the underside of your rugs/decor/artwork to keep your space safe
Sweep from the inside out, start at the far end and go to the front door, that way you're moving the stale energy out of your place.
If the weather is nice and you feel safe enough, open the windows/blinds and let the air/sunshine/moonlight in. Let it cleanse or charge your space.
No mats or signs that say "welcome" or anything like that -> it's said that malevolent spirits will take that as an invitation into your place, and in an apartment its probable it'll get stolen anyway

Also when I was in the church, it was highlighted that many of those in the Bible who connected to God and were favored were idol worshippers, murderors, cheaters, promiscuous, sinful AND still are tbh!
So why in alternate spirituality do you have to be this perfect devotee, highly strict or super perfect person at all
Especially when a lot of deities that people worship are also killers, jealous, materialistic and morally ambiguous themselves😂
I personally don’t “worship” anything, i’m part of the divine not subservient to it

Tarot Timing: Methods That Actually Work ₊˚⊹☆
Why Timing Matters in Tarot
Understanding timing in tarot readings helps you set realistic expectations and make better decisions. Rather than wondering "when will this happen?" you can gain clarity on the natural flow and rhythm of events.
Timing adds depth to your readings and helps you work with the energy rather than against it. Remember that tarot timing is more about energy patterns than exact dates, so approach it as guidance rather than rigid prediction.
The Suit Method
Wands represent fast-moving fire energy, typically indicating days to weeks for manifestation. These cards suggest quick action, passion, and immediate opportunities that require swift response.
Cups represent flowing water energy, usually pointing to weeks to months for emotional or relationship matters. The timing flows with feelings and intuitive cycles.
Swords represent sharp air energy, often indicating immediate to days for mental breakthroughs, communication, or conflict resolution. Quick decisions and clear thinking accelerate timing.
Pentacles represent steady earth energy, suggesting months to years for material, financial, or career-related matters. These require patience and consistent effort over time.
Astrological Timing
Major Arcana cards carry astrological associations that can pinpoint specific timeframes. The Empress connects to Venus and Taurus (April-May), while The Sun relates to Leo season (July-August). The Hermit links to Virgo (August-September), and The World connects to Saturn for long-term completion.
Study these correspondences to add precision to your timing readings. This method works especially well when you need to know specific months or seasons for events.
Seasonal Timing Method
Wands align with Spring and Summer when fire energy is strongest, new projects launch, and creative energy peaks. This is the time for action and manifestation.
Cups flow with Summer into Fall when emotions run deep, relationships develop, and intuitive insights emerge. Water energy supports emotional growth.
Swords cut through Fall and Winter when mental clarity is essential, communication is key, and decisive action cuts through confusion. Air energy supports clear thinking.
Pentacles ground through Winter into Spring when practical matters, finances, and career foundations are built. Earth energy supports steady growth.
Number-Based Timing
Aces through Threes suggest quick timing of days to weeks, representing new beginnings and initial energy that moves rapidly toward manifestation.
Fours through Sevens indicate moderate timing of weeks to months, showing steady development and the building of momentum toward your goal.
Eights through Tens point to longer timing of months to seasons, representing completion phases that require patience and sustained effort.
Court Cards typically represent people involved in the situation rather than the timing itself, though some readers assign them seasonal meanings based on their elemental nature. Advanced Timing Tips Ask specifically, "What timeframe?" and pull a dedicated timing card rather than trying to extract timing from every card in your spread. When multiple timing indicators appear, expect the longer timeframe as energies build complexity. Remember that personal energy shifts, free will choices, and external circumstances can all influence timing. The cards show the most likely timeline based on current energy, but this can change. Trust your intuition when timing feels off from traditional meanings. Remember, the cards reveal energy patterns and natural rhythms, but free will and changing circumstances can shift timeframes. Use timing as a tool for better planning and decision-making, not as an absolute prediction. The most important thing is understanding the energy behind the timing so you can work with it effectively!

❀ . . A Prayer to Aphrodite
On your dappled throne, Aphrodite—deathless, ruse-devising daughter of Zeus: O Lady, never crush my spirit with pain and needless sorrow, I beg you.
Rather come—if ever some moment, years past, hearing from afar my despairing voice, you listened, left your father’s great golden halls, and came to my succor,
Yoking sparrows, lovely and swift, to drive down, leaving heaven, chariot sailing mid- sky over black earth, feather-thick wings densely beating the clear air—
Quick arrival. You, O my Blessed Goddess, ageless lips then beautifully smiling at me, asked me what had caused me such pain and made me cry out again now:
. . . “What’s the secret wish of your crazy, wild heart? Whom must Love compel with Her wily ruses back into the glittering net of your arms? Sappho, who hurts you?"
. . . “If she flees, she’ll follow you soon as I say. If she snubs your gifts, she will give you much more If she loves you not, then I swear she will love— Even unwilling.”
Come to me now, free me from bitter worry, all I long for, deep in my spirit— do it! You yourself be, here on this field of battle, Sappho’s lone ally.
— Sappho (the only poem preserved in its entirety that was written by her. It was quoted in full in Literary Composition by the Greek rhetor Dionysos of Halikarnassos). Translated by David Bowles.
