Apricot Popcorn

We might also be known as a people who attend church every Sunday for three hours, in a place where everyone is a brother or a sister, where the children sing songs about streams that talk, trees that produce popcorn, and children who want to become sunbeams. – Dieter F. Uchtdorf

The “Stop It” GIF
Last year, I made a video, and posted it on YouTube. The video was a brief informational video about a then-popular video meme which had become so wildly popular, YouTube included their own version as an Easter egg.
My video included a brief segment from Dieter F. Uchtdorf's talk “The Merciful Obtain Mercy,” which he gave at the April 2012 General Conference. The portion I used for my video was a brief loop of him saying the phrase, “Stop it,” made to look as if it were an animated GIF.
I purported that it was an animated GIF that I found on Tumblr, but of course, the quality of the video was such that it was apparent it wasn’t, as it was the actual video, only muted with the text appearing at the appropriate place.
The talk mentioned above was recently made into a Mormon Messages video about bullying. The phrase, “Stop it” appears within the first two minutes.
Of course, it wasn’t on Tumblr at the time I made the video I mentioned at the beginning of this post, but it is now!

(EDIT: Here’s a bigger one.)

The cool thing is that this GIF can apply to pretty much anything you find that bothers or annoys you, or things wrong with society in general. For example:
Making silly videos with Baauer’s song “Harlem Shake” as the background music:

Bullying:
Tumblr media
Making covers of Christmas songs made popular after 1975:

That water droplet sound that comes from some Android devices whenever the screen is tapped:

The doge meme:

(Or, “much stop it" if you’re so inclined…)
Commercials that are made to look like two back-to-back commercials:
Tumblr media
Commercials which take an old song and change some of the words around to fit the nature of the product being advertised:
Tumblr media
Wearing leggings as pants:
Tumblr media
Horror movie commercials which include stuttering audio, audio that is jarring or unnerving somehow, or show footage of an audience allegedly reacting to something in the movie:
Tumblr media
Saying Reeeeemiiiiix!:
Tumblr media
Posting about your workout routine on Facebook… on a daily basis:
Tumblr media
Making a dance remix from a ballad:
Tumblr media
Using the name Shiz as a substitute for a certain swear word.
Tumblr media
TV commercials which alternate between two camera angles, with subtle changes in each shot until the final shots are dramatically different from the first.
Tumblr media
You get the picture. So, have fun with it. Don’t forget to link back here if you use it, mmmkay?

When people at church schedule things for Saturday morning…
Tumblr media
These events typically occur before 11:00, so this is an appropriate reaction. Then again, I almost never attend them. Because I'm at home. Sleeping. And that's the way I like it!

My reaction when someone I know announces their engagement
If it's a guy…

If it's a girl I like…

Of course, this last bit would certainly change if she announces that I am the one with whom she is engaged. (Sources: weheartit.com, xmywastedyouth)
