It is very easy to pretend antisemitism isn't a real problem/is a distraction, if you just accuse every Jew who points out antisemitism of making stuff up to silence people. Just like it's very easy to pretend the same thing about, say, transphobia. Rhetorically speaking, dismissing accusations of antisemitism on the basis that "the jews are weaponizing it to silence us!" isn't that distinct from Republicans fearmongering about how in California you'll get arrested for calling someone the wrong pronoun

It is also very easy to ignore that that's exactly what this rhetoric is and exactly what it's for, if you just admonish anyone who points this out for glossing over the "fact" that "Jews really are weaponizing antisemitism to silence us!"

a quick reminder because people seem to forget this:

queers across the world are dying. trans and intersex people in the usa are being discriminated against. men who love men and women who love women are still being killed. trans men are getting FGM and forcibly impregnated. trans women are getting killed and correctively raped. nonbinary people have little rights or autonomy anywhere.

please PLEASE focus on these issues instead of arguing over the validity of unusual microlabels (looking at you, anti bi lesbians and anti boydykes) and who experiences oppression (looking at you, tme/tma users). you need to help other queers instead of fighting over stupid shit that doesnt matter. there is no Most Oppressed group, there is also no Least Oppressed group.

queer poc and disabled people shouldnt be forgotten either, please support them! queers not in first world countries are being hurt and killed purely for not following the status quo. now, more than ever, queer solidarity is everything. listen to other queer voices and experiences. go volunteer. donate to a charity or a queer person in need. actually help queer people instead of going online and getting mad at random shit that doesnt concern you.

The Bucket and the Four Directions

In Us' post I briefly talked about the quincunx, a geometric pattern that appears frequently in Aztec imagery. I showed some made of circles to compare them to Us' symbol, but that wasn't the only way the quincunx was used.

Another important example is the cross of the four directions. The Aztecs believed the cardinal points were the four ways of the universe. They represent it like this on the first page of Codex Fejérváry-Meyer.

Now, each of the four Tezcatlipocas is associated with a cardinal point. And that's team Monkey Wrench!

Huitzlampa (South) -> Huitzilopochtli (Shrike)

Tlahuizlampa (East) -> Xipe Totec (Beebs)

Cihuatlampa (West) -> Quetzalcoatl (Lariat)

Mictlampa (North) -> Tezcatlipoca (Triangle)

The four directions here are represented with this trapezoid shape (the square in the center is considered up and down, but we're not getting into that today)

It's interesting The Bucket consists almost entirely of this shape. Even with the arm! The window part is really close to a trapezoid with the corners cut, too.

Not only that, the interior is also filled with them. Here are some of the most visible ones

Bonus: This shape also shows up in other objects Shrike and Beebs use, like for example Beebs' hammer and the trigger on Shrike's gun.

The most obvious of all is the pattern on their tablets!

Now, is the Bucket the only place decorated with trapezoids like this in this sci-fi style? No. But since the main four are the Tezcatlipocas, it fits that their spaceship is the most abundant with them, because it's something that represents the four of them, together.
