Another experiment with shadows. I was inspired to draw a highland cow for whatever reason, which seemed like a good candidate for very dark areas. I've actually never tried this rather pointy, dark and flashy-coloured style before. So I'd say it turned out much better than it had any right to. What do you think?

A somewhat startled dino
I wanted to try some comic-esque black-and-white drawing with overexaggerated shadows. I think it worked out quite well. The white highlights in the shadowy parts made a big difference, I think.
But I'll probably try leaving out the cross-hatching in the next one, I feel like that could also be interesting (maybe with colour?)

I haven't posted anything (or drawn much) in a while, but am looking forward to doing some more digital drawing in the near future
Here's a swarm of jellyfish I painted as a wallpaper for my phone (which is why the picture is so tall). I went for flashy colours and I've been working on using highlights to make things stand out more. Might have overdone it a little

A sketch in red ink that I did a while ago.
I was drawing faces with different expressions a lot and at some point I did this weirdly distorted one that has three eyes for some reason
(I don't know if this counts as surrealism, I don't know art styles, but I'll give it the hashtag anyway)

Do androids dream of electric sheep? The lambda on its forehead is a bit of a nod to the functional programmers out there (Haskell FTW) I've done this a while ago, so it could be better and maybe I'll redo it sometime, but I still think it's cute. What do you think?

I'm pretty much done with the dandelion animation. I could probably still add shading on the clothes and face, but then I'd have to draw around 20 frames of shading, so I'm not sure I want to do that. Also I think the dandelion seeds might be a bit too subtle. I originally made them in the same shade of grey as the outline of the dandelion 'head', but that was too similar to the background, so I made them brighter. The brighter yellowish-grey is too similar to the skintone and the wall though, so I ended up using both colours. I'd be happy to hear suggestions on how to improve the dandelion seeds in particular, or the animation in general, if there's anything you can think of!

Another short animation I'm working on, which shows a girl blowing dandelion seeds over a wall.
I'll add some more frames to make the movement smoother and then add the colour (and obviously the dandelion seeds).
I'll continue with my climbing animation after I'm done with this, which can only be a matter of eons ;)

A digital painting that I did a year or so ago.
As you can see, it is an elephant with butterfly wings as ears (swallowtail wings, to be precise).
I originally did the green background, but added blue and red alternatives, which are a bit too flat, I think (the green one is much brighter behind the elephant's head)

Hey I love your shakey climbing man! I didnt consider the perspective before seeing you mentioning it, and only scrolling the climbing tag so I haven't seen any of your art before but I really really like it! The placements are really nice and the fish eye curve really enforces the feeling that it's super super steep and also unknown how high up they are. It gives me the same feeling as when they woosh out in a movie and you see that the protag is like scaling the 53rd storey of a building rather than just chilling if that makes sense? You know the one with the sound effect they always used in like 2005. Anyways yeah it's great! Good job
Hey, thanks for the kind words!
I'm glad that you like the perspective and that it apparently did work out like I intended :)
I'll add more stuff to the animation (like a confident smug-looking character) and make it longer, ideally it will be something of a classic cartoon-sketch with a climbing theme. I'll post the updates with the climbing hashtag, so feel free to comment on them if you see them and have anything to say (positive or negative)
Appreciate the feedback, and thanks again

I'm working on a climbing animation. So far, I have this poor guy shaking wildly
I find perspective a little difficult sometimes, so I'm not sure if this exaggerated fish-eye central perspective gets my point accross. Let me know what you think!
I'll post updates when I have them

I have a habit of drawing my own desktop wallpapers, this is my current one. I somehow started doing a slug-theme, so naturally there are two sea slugs (the weirdest looking kind of slug)

The steampunky octopus in my profile-picture. I originally planned to do it in ink and watercolour, but the paper I used didn't like getting wet. So I wasn't too happy with the result and later decided to redo it digitally (which suits the cartoony style I was going for anyway).
I'm happy how it turned out overall, what do you think?

I thought I might try out some animation, so I just played around a little to see how it goes. Originally, I wanted to have two people walking (slowly) and talking to one another, gesticulating wildly. But for some reason there's just this one guy with no arms and a ghost-cat appearing in the background. At least he has a bowtie
