archaeology moment
I am such an archaeologist. I see an artificial hill and I think. That is not a normal hill. People made that.

Being a young adult is so strange. You enter a coffee shop. The 20 year old girl waiting behind you cried all night because she just came to a new city for university and she feels so alone. That 27 year old guy over there works a job he is overqualified for, he lives with his parents and wants to move out but doesn't know what to do about it. That one 24 year old dude already has a car, a house, and a job waiting for him once he graduates thanks to his dad's connections. The 26 year old barista couldn't complete his higher education because he has to work and take care of his family. The 28 year old girl sitting next to you has no friends to go out with so she is texting her mother. That couple (both 25 years old) are married and the girl is pregnant. The 29 year old writing something on her laptop has realized that she chose the wrong major so she is trying to start all over. We are not alone in this, but we are actually so alone. Do you feel me

More people should really at least consider otherlinking to be a thing they themselves can do. The community is quiet and the tags tend to be overrun with crossposting, but I think it'd be a lot louder if people actually considered it as a genuine possibility a little more often. 'Linking is usually seen as an afterthought you tack onto the end of a list of alterhuman terms and not usually discussed too much more than that from what we can see. Which is sad because it really can be beneficial and it absolutely has a place in the broader alterhuman community.
You really want to be an animal, or your favourite character, but you know you're not? You can do that--you can just.. become them.
You have a hearttype but it feels kinda weird and it feels like you should have been that thing, but you're not? You could always 'link it if you're dysphoric about not being that thing.
You have something that was--or you thought was--a kintype, but now it's not, and you miss it? Just link it back into yourself.
You think [thing] is really cool and it'd be cool to be one? You can!
You want to incorporate an aesthetic of [thing] into your identity and it'd work best if you just became that thing? That's absolutely a thing you can do.
You think it'd be fun to identify as something other than what your body is? You can make that happen.
Being [thing] would help with something in your life? Go ahead, you can do that.
You can mold your own sense of self an identity however you see fit, and that's really cool. Honestly it comes across as a power move. You get to make your own self, no matter what came before it.

This is very relatable as an archaeoptryx. There are some things in the present that remind us of the past, but the world is always moving forward. I would love to glide though the trees and eat bugs.
i saw so many pretty ocean landscapes during my trip. beautiful coasts remind me of what I lost those many years ago. I mean, everything has to come to an end but jeez, I could’ve had more time to witness prehistory. i saw seagulls flying off the cliffs, they remind me of the pterosaurs i watched, waiting to ambush. everything reminded me of my past life as a mosasaur. the salty smell of the ocean, the crashing waves, the crystal green water, hell, even the lizard climbing the bunker right next to me. wish i could go back

touching grass literally
Don't just touch grass. Roll around in it. Run though it. Lay in it and look at the sky. Self care is important.

It makes me so happy to see other paleotherians learning more about themselves. Also mosassur are so cool! I hope you continue to enjoy swimming as the creature you are.
i just recently awakened as a mosasaur cladotherian! i went to the beach yesterday and springs today, it was so beautiful. i taught myself how to propel myself with my legs, like how mosasaurs swam with their tails and i almost ambushed (caught) a fish, but ran out of air. this was so euphoric it felt like i still had my tail!

I love fish. This is so pretty. I love seeing art that you can just get lost in.

Oops, no original content in months
I feel like I haven't been giving myself time to be a critter. I have had shifts hear and there and on occasion I get to be a critter around friends, but that is kind of rare. Please touch grass and go for walks. It's good to just be a creature instead of a human 99% of the time. How do people like to distress and take breaks from pretending to be normal and human? I like going for walks in the woods and being petted by friends.

Unicorns! This image brings my joy.

what if unicorns were the size of cats?
and they just… lived with us, in our homes?
