am i the only one that thinks robby saying "this job will fuck you up if you let it; you let it" is way worse than anything langdon said to him? not trying to dismiss or excuse anything that frank said/did but for robby to basically say that his substance use disorder is because of a personal/moral weakness is so unbelievably fucked up and i feel like no one talks about how cruel that was

i also don't get why. if you're going to write mclennon fanfiction. why you would put them in any kind of au in which they aren't members of the beatles but just like normal people. like what's interesting about them is the intense and turbulent interpersonal connection that developed alongside their fiercely competitive creative partnership in one of the biggest musical acts ever. like if you strip the beatles aspects away that's just two toxic crazy gay guys with nothing special going on. which i personally don't find interesting at all and like at that point just write original fiction? i just don't think paul mccartney would be interesting as a poet or record shop employee or whatever. like he's just a guy.
