realising far far too late that i downloaded all those fandom videos without actually attributing them to any creators or upload dates (CRYING)

brief update, guys. i realised that i had been unintentionally completely ignoring FANFIC from my archival/download efforts, which is nuts to think about.

there are 950 dangan ronpa fanfics on ao3 from the start of 2012 to february 14 2014, the release date of the official localization of dr1. that's... a lot! and that's not even counting fanfiction.net which i need to figure out how to filter as well.

i'm going to start downloading all of them shortly. wish me luck...

hi! apologies for the lack of posts, i'm very busy. please be assured that i'm still keeping tabs on everything for my archival work to resume when i'm able to do so.

i do have a couple of new things for my personal danganronpa collection...

i was able to get my hands on the danganronpa the animation staff book! this thing has illustrations from... well, the staff of dangan ronpa the animation! some very interesting stuff in here.

i was also able to purchase two copies of the Trial Deck for Chaos TCG: Danganronpa the Animation! this is... a card game i don't know anything about. and i got two because the seller was just selling both at once with no other option. but hey, it's cool to have!

so i got the opportunity to record ‘beautiful disaster’ for a gcse composition. recording this one wasn’t something i planned to do right now, especially considering i haven’t recorded the secret santa present yet oooooops, but i’m really happy with this recording!

Are you serious right now? I’m a fully certified neurosurgeon. I can break into people’s heads and rewire their brains and tamper with their memory, no problem. But this? This juice box? hi! some insanely exciting news for everyone today. i've been pretty busy so i haven't been posting much, but i had to post this update immediately as soon as i got it.

do you remember THIS POST from 3 months ago? one of my earliest reblogs on this blog. about the fangame, hagakrue.

this is an rpg maker game from 2013 that i thought was lost media. and in fact until recently i think it might have been!

however, i got a message just 20 minutes ago from @pinkminimarshmallow.

it turns out she still had the game downloaded and was looking for where it came from out of curiosity!!

she was more than happy to send it my way and help out, so i now have it downloaded myself. and of course, when i make parts of the archive available in bulk (likely by category of item, including fangames) i'll include it in there as well.

this is a huge win for the blog and for me personally. i remember playing this game on my old ass computer back in the day, but it died a long time ago and i don't have it anymore.

now the game's been preserved. i truly appreciate it, this is exactly part of the reason why i set the blog up in the first place. thank you so much again, @pinkminimarshmallow!

hi! i was wondering if you have archived versions of fan-translated free time events? i'm looking for hanamura teruteru's specifically [someone mentioned a pretty huge change that the localization allegedly made and i wanted to check for myself]. i was able to find a masterpost of translated FTEs but all the links to hanamura's were broken and i haven't turned up anything else, so i turn to you, fellow archive enthusiast 🙏

hi. thanks so much for your request! sadly ive not been able to find anything in the few hours i've been searching. i've turned up a blog that had those posts in the past - and the links were dead, so it's likely the same blog that you found yourself already.

the posts are actually preserved - sort of. they've been reblogged by at least one person, and i have that blog open since it has links to some other sdr2 FTEs, but... well, the original blog that the hanamura events were posted on has been nuked, and the posts were posted under a read more. unfortunately, i don't actually think it's possible to recover them unless there's something i'm missing. i'll keep searching, though...

man. i seriously don't know how i missed this one!

turns out there's another set of fansubs for danganronpa the animation that i completely missed and/or forgot about somehow! here's a quick comparison between the two, using one screenshot.

this first one is by the UTW translation group, using the 'super duper high school' format as popularized by the project zetsubou translation...

...and here's the translation by HorribleSubs, which uses the 'super high school level' format as popularized by orenronen.

while the latter image is much easier to read from a subtitle point of view, i actually really like the semi-natural integration going on with UTW's subs of the letter there. as for the actual content of the translations themselves... well, i'd have to watch both to see which one i like more.

this could have actually been lost! i almost didn't find this, i just so happened to be looking for subs of another anime when i stumbled upon this. huge thanks to iTimo01 on nyaa.si for keeping the torrent up, it's super appreciated.
