Found it at a Pokémon Center (we’re on a Japan trip right now) and I could feel him in the back of headspace wanting it. It was almost 80 usd but hey, we have plenty of saved-up money to spend here! Even if we already spent almost 150 at another one-

This world is so interesting as someone who was a Pokémon trainer and is kin with a Pokémon!!!

Like, most people here see Pokémon as “based on” creatures that exist here, but to me they’re creatures with uncanny similarities to each other!

An example would be this world’s version of Bombirdier (who is closest to a stork) being so similar yet so different to the bird I know!! Storks here have stories about them carrying babies to people, while the Bombirdiers I’m familiar with carry around rocks in their stomach flaps and drop them on prey!

And the Applin line being seen in the idea here of worms in apples! Back home they’re wyrms in apples, since they’re dragon types!

It’s so interesting to me comparing the creatures here to the ones in more familiar with, and seeing how some are reflected only in myths/legends (Like all the legendaries from my home in Kitakami, and the Japanese legend of Momotaro here!) and more abstract ideas and concepts (like Sinistcha and Poltchageist, and the practice of kintsugi!)

And me being Furret kin adds another layer to it since I somewhat know what it’s like living as a Pokémon too! The similarities and differences in “animal” life here and back home are really interesting too!

I miss my Furret so muchhhhhhh

I miss cuddling her and going to sleep and her curling up on me… and her nuzzling up to me whenever I was feeling down… and all the times we’d sneak out to Oni Mountain together and have fun climbing it even if we never met the Ogre

I have a long cat plushie now (thank you body’s mom; best Valentines gift you could have gotten us) but cuddling it just isn’t the same…

And don’t even get me started on the rest of my team… Yanmega and Dipplin/Hydrapple especially since we practically grew up together…

on a serious note actually relevant to kin shit i know i gripe about this OFTEN but idk why everyone focuses so hard on romance as inherently More important or complex than any other kinda relationship. and again anytime i say this i gotta disclose i am by no means aro. but i find it...bizarre for many reasons how sometimes particularly fanbases but also people as a whole tend to assume this...i guess? i think...that sort of conflict or closeness doesn't have to be romantic by any means. n i just find it...weird and irritatin that some people seem to think for a dynamic to be compellin it has to be that. and just that. it feels sorta...reductive in some ways i guess? not to shit on their fun 'cause...duh not my place n if it's harmless really my annoyance is kept to myself but i def don't get it. at all.

He wants to front but he can’t without feeling horrible and we don’t know why
