"Jealousy is a disease, love is a healthy condition. The immature mind often mistakes one for the other, or assumes that the greater the love, the greater the jealousy - in fact, they are almost incompatible; one emotion hardly leaves room for the other." -Robert A. Heinlein Sometimes my brain puts the lousy in jealousy, I have to remember to be grateful for what I have, not envious of what I don't. Jealousy is an extremely unattractive trait, but love is the most beautiful of them all. 💗

I bought a bikini for the first time since I was probably 15, and I'm 23 now. I'm learning how to love myself in a different way these days. I know I'm not perfect, but I only strive to be happy. Even on days when I don't feel very attractive, I need to buckle down and love my unattractiveness. If we don't love ourselves completely, then we will become our own worst enemies. When the time is right I will share my "bikini body" with the world, but until then I want to leave everyone with this thought: nobody sees you the way you see yourself, you can be your best friend or your worst critic, you decide. 💓👙✌

I love this, so looking forward to being part of this journey. I will stand with you Tine. I need time to reevaluate myself and my situation, but you my dear are absolutely inspirational!!! 💓
The motivation and the movement.
“Fat feminism” which is basically known now as body positivity started way back in the 60’s, which was around the time when the “Slim is In” campaign started. Models like Twiggy (slim build, total babe) became fashionable and were plastered all over the media. In the 1980’s, clothing lines that targeted plus sized audiences were established. In the 1990’s “fat feminism” was officially supported by National Organization of Women, and International No Diet Day is observed on May 6 every year. In 2009, Kate Harding and Marianne Kirby, successful fat bloggers, co-released a book called Lessons from the “Fat-o-sphere: Quit Dieting and Declare a Truce with Your Body,” which includes multiple chapters on healthy eating, body positivity and health at every size. In 2013, Fat Babe Tess Holliday started the #effyourbeautystandards hashtag. Also in 2013, Gabi Gregg (gabifresh on Instagram) blew up with the hashtag #fatkini, which featured her in a bikini lounging by a pool.
As you can clearly tell, I am not the first person to be preaching about body positivity. I will also never be the last to preach about body positivity.
I went from being a size 3 in the 9th grade, to a size 18 by senior year, and am now currently at a size 22/24. I have always been “thick,” “chubby,” or whatever adjective you want to use. I’m not afraid to use the word fat. I have fat, and I have a lot of it, and I’m still a sexy ass bitch, but I digress.
A lot of people have been asking me when I suddenly got the confidence to be doing all of this. Well, it wasn’t completely sudden, I’ve been posting full body photos and shirtless photos on tumblr for over a year now, and have submitted to @killerkurves (hey Marcus, you’re a babe) several times, and gained quite a few followers from there who have encouraged me to keep doing what I’m doing. So strangers have known just how fat I am for a while now. The decision to share all of this jiggle with friends and family on Facebook was spontaneous. I was hanging at the river, thought for a split second and then said “fuck it.” I had one of my best friends take photos of me (thank baby) and I posted them to Facebook and Instagram (where I’ve shown off my thighs a time of two), and then signed out of social media for a few hours (probably only legitimately like 10 minutes, let’s be real). When I signed back on, the amount of support I had received was absolutely unbelievable. So, really, getting the balls to do it came first, the confidence came after. People don’t care as much as you think they do, and you really are your own worse critic. I owe it all to you all, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
It is absolutely exhausting being at war with yourself. If you’re in a fight with another person, you can ignore it, but you’re always stuck with yourself (a thing that never fails to drive me crazy). To finally be able to look in the mirror and say, “Hey! Lookin good today, sexy thang” while naked is the best feeling I’ve ever experienced in my entire life. I don’t expect every day to be like this, but those moments? Those moments are priceless.
Everyone has a battle they choose to fight in life. Right now, society is struggling with trans rights, freedom of religion, racism, body shaming, etc. We’re literally fighting over whether people can have rights. What is going on with the world?
Body shaming is the primary battle I’ve chosen to fight right now. We need to love one another and love ourselves and appreciate the differences we all have as individual human beings. We need to come together and say “We’ve had enough,” and stand up for ourselves. We need to fight back.
This isn’t just my battle, it’s our battle.
Who will stand and fight with me?

Has anybody even considered that maybe Bey went the Black Panther route because the Panthers were in the Super Bowl? I’m sure the message was deeper, but it’s a coincidence! The flowers during the halftime show were obviously a metaphor, (all the different colors represented different ethnicities and races) we should all be uniting through love, not hate. “She was drawing a parallel between the messages of the Black Panther movement of the 1960’s and the Black Lives Matter movement of today, while reminding all of us that these conditions still haven’t changed. These are still serious, disturbing issues that need to be addressed. Calling Beyoncé’s performance “racism” does little more than prove that you have no idea what racism actually is. It isn’t a thought or an idea that an individual has. It’s a system of perpetual injustice that lessens the rights and the voices of an entire group of people. And your Neanderthalic reaction when seeing Beyoncé’s performance and your refusal to educate yourself on the Black Panthers or Black Lives Matter prove that said racism is still alive and well.” The performance wasn’t solely Beyonce’s either, the NFL approved it before hand so everyone acted in unity together… THE BLACK PANTHER PARTY IS NOT COMPARABLE TO THE KKK OR NAZIS. I REPEAT, THE BLACK PANTHER PARTY IS NOT COMPARABLE TO THE KKK OR NAZIS!!! ✌🌷🌸🌹🌺🌻🌼✊
