On a whim, I decided to unlock Infinity Ultron in Marvel Snap, and he's...just kind of underwhelming?

His basic stats are 5 energy for 6 power, which is pretty poor to start with and means you can usually only play him on the second-last turn, so you'd expect that his On Reveal power would be pretty game-changing, yeah? It gives you two of his alternate-universe Infinity Gems!

Unfortunately, the gems are only okay. Like, one of them doubles Ultron's power...like Black Panther would have done already, more cheaply, and better. One of them makes a drone with Ultron's power, like a worse version of Taskmaster. And so on. Given that you don't know which ones you'll get, and you'll normally only have a single turn to try and use them, I was definitely expecting a little more!

No doubt he'll be buffed shortly (or some expert players will figure out how he's actually super powerful) - but for now, meh.

How dare you do this to me. I have SO MANY THOUGHTS... choosing a focus for this one was hard and I just wanted to delve into all the background for how these two came together in THIS iteration, but whoo boy, would that be a project. (The bunnies are fighting to the death, right now.)

Tony paused as he exited the casino, Happy a step behind him. Stephen waited by the car, dressed in ‘casual’ clothes. “Happy, you’ve got the car?” 

Happy sighed. “Got it, boss.” Happy moved past Stephen without a greeting. Happy was certain, and had told Tony several times, that Stephen was hiding something.

Given Tony knew exactly what Stephen was hiding, he couldn’t exactly reassure Happy. He wasn’t even sure he knew everything.

“You missed your award ceremony,” Stephen noted.

Tony hummed, stepping close. “I saw the preview, it was all about Howard again. As long as they keep making award ceremonies for me all about him, I’m going to keep skipping.”

“Fair enough,” Stephen acknowledged. He wrapped his arms around Tony’s waist. “You’re lucky. There was a reporter here, waiting to ambush you.”

“Not here now,” Tony observed. “What’d you do?”

Stephen smirked. “I might have created an illusion for her to chase. She’ll be rather frustrated when you disappear.”

Tony laughed. “You need to stop doing that.”

“Not likely,” Stephen said. He leaned in for a kiss. Energy sparked beneath Tony’s skin. He’d had JARVIS scan and analyze their kisses—with Stephen’s permission—and they created literal energy. Tony hadn’t analyzed their sex, yet, but he suspected it’d put their kisses to shame. 

He pulled back. “I thought you were in Topsy-Turvy this week?”

“The Toptugain dimension,” Stephen corrected easily. “I leave tomorrow morning. Same time you leave for Afghanistan.” There was something in his voice, something off.

Tony examined him. “What’s wrong?”

“I don’t know,” Stephen admitted. “The time stone is keeping something from me. Something’s on the horizon. I’m concerned.”

Tony never knew what to say when Stephen talked about Time and his Mystic duties. “Whatever it is, you’ll figure it out,” he promised. “You always do.”

okay so they broke up after like a month of dating bc she's "crazy" and "manipulating" which is what i told him but whatever. so now he's basically js sitting there not doing anything and all the while my ex(who is nkt really my ex, we dated for 1 week) is tryna get back with me, the guy i sit with at lunch is tryna ask me out, the bassist in my orchestra tired to ask me out, the german exchange student pianist in my orchestra almost asked me out, and the crusty white guy from my church asked me out on a movie date which i politely decided. all in all, the one guy i want is indifferent to me, and all the guys i don't want have a suddenly newfound interest in me. what is life what is love

Tony is a dog person, so he was somewhat excited to learn that Stephen had a dog

the issue was that Stephen forgot to tell Tony it is a ghost dog that can talk

Tony stormed into the room. “You are the worst.”

Stephen paused, looking up. The words weren’t exactly a bad thing—Tony groused like no other—but Tony sounded genuinely aggrieved. “You’re going to have to be more specific,” Stephen said. “You called me the worst when I made you eat breakfast this morning instead of letting you subsist off coffee.”

Tony wasn’t distracted. “You told me you had a dog.”

“I told you the Sanctum had a dog,” Stephen corrected. Bats wasn’t his.

“You told me there was a dog,” Tony said, rolling his eyes. “What you failed to tell me was that I cannot pet the dog.” Tony’s eyes widened a little into his ‘oh woe is me’ expression, explicitly used when Tony was genuinely disappointed but wanted people to think he was only pretending to be disappointed.

Deciphering Tony’s expressions always had layers.

“Bats is meant to be pet, and I can’t,” Tony continued. He paused. “You also failed to mention Bats can talk, but I’m over that. He has the best gossip about you.”

Horror spread through Stephen. Tony gossiped terribly and now he was going to add Bats to the mix?

“You’re seriously going to gossip about me with my dog?”

“Bats is the Sanctum’s dog,” Tony retorted, smirking.

Stephen rolled his eyes. “Do you want me to teach you to pet him or not?” he asked.

Tony froze. His eyes narrowed, calculating. “Are you saying you’ll teach me to pet Bats if I promise not to gossip about you?”

Stephen arched an eyebrow. “Your choice.”

Tony grumbled under his breath. “Teach me how to pet Bats.”

Excellent. He’d been teaching Tony to enter the astral plane for ages; he suspected that now Tony had dog pets as a motivation, Tony might actually learn. Double win.

Stephen took a deep breath, trying to settle his nerves. He’d gotten to the cafe he and Edward had chosen for their meeting early, spurred on by the anxious desire and need to know. Except now that he was here, he couldn’t help but fear the possibility Edward saw him through the window and… walked away.

The Cloak tightened around his neck in scarf form, reassuring him. Stephen patted the fabric. He’d told Edward he’d be wearing a red scarf since the Cloak had insisted on accompanying him.

The door opened and Stephen’s gaze moved immediately to see if—

It was a man and woman, holding hands and chatting. Stephen let out a breath. Not Edward, then. He reached for his phone, checking the time. 8:02. Edward was running late. Hopefully. Hopefully he was late and not just deciding not to show up.

The tinkle of a bell indicated the door opening again and Stephen immediately looked up.

His breath caught. Stark had walked in, a blue scarf around his neck. Edward. Stephen’s heart did a little spin.

Stark caught sight of Stephen. Stark’s gaze darted around the rest of the cafe, as though looking for anyone else that might fit ‘Vincent’s’ description.

Stephen smiled, gesturing for Stark to come over. After a moment, Stark did. 

“Strange,” he said, tone hesitant. His gaze focused on the Cloak around his neck in scarf form. “What brings you here? This is a little out of the way of your Sanctum, isn’t it?”

“Meeting someone,” Stephen said. He arched an eyebrow, waiting for Stark to react to Stephen’s identity. “Same as you.”

That earned him a long pause. “...Vincent?”

“Hello Edward.”

Stark stared for a long moment, then fell into the chair across from Stephen. “Oh, you’ve got to be kidding me.”

i feel like i need to keep updating you 19 people on this so here goes

he actually decided to get with this girl who lives 4 hours away from here, on the basis that she's "really sweet." however, for the entire time they've been together, he's only brought up red flags about her to me and it's like why are you even dating her if she's such a pick me and she told you to your face that she lost feelings for you? he's also notoriously bad at long distance yet keeps trying to do it anyway. anyway the girl he's dating is not really the best person(i know her personally) but i don't know her well enough to accurately judge her character so there's not much i can say about that.
