Hello!

I have more eldritch au questions. More specifically about the wizards you've already answered my other ask about Gandalf/Olorin (I think that's how you spell it?) but I am curious about the other wizards. Do you have any thoughts on them?

Heyo! Hmm I have a few thoughts on the other wizards - since Saruman was Aule's Maia, I imagine he'd appear very marble-esque, maybe in the style of a Greek pillar? He'd keep that vibe in his human form, very tall and column-shaped, appearing as marble or white stone in a certain light XD

As for Radagast, I feel like he could be very gremlin-y in his human form, going around on all fours at times hahaa Maybe, if you saw him in the woods, you might mistake his silhouette to be a bear or a deer or some other animal (kinda like using your hands' shadows to create different shapes), but once you get closer, you see that it's just this old guy loll

Sorry I don't have any doodles to share that would give a clearer picture; I've been feeling a bit tired these days, and my brain's more set on writing fanfics XD But there's always the future! :D

Hi! :D I've been doing alright so far; hope you've been doing well too! <333 I haven't been drawing much these days since my motivation's hopped over to fanfic (I got inspired by Star Wars recently, also currently watching Clone Wars XD) I'm also working on TRSB projects, so I'm trying not to start new art wips, otherwise I'll have too much on my plate loll (though I tend to procrastinate a lot ^^;;) And ... that's pretty much it, really! Hopefully I can get back into art soon hahaa

I cannot put into words how much I love @arlenianchronicles 's Eldritch AU!! I'm always a sucker for stories or art that make Tolkien's Elves just a little more obviously 'not human' beyond a general beauty/height/sense of power, and this AU is just beautiful!

This is my Silm OC, Alcariel, in my attempt at her Eldritch style. She's based off a Silver Buttonwood tree, since I wanted to incorporate her silver hair into the design just a tad more than with just her cloth/hair!

(If I was a braver girl I'd try to draw her with her Atto, but I really don't think I could do Eldritch Maglor the justice he deserves)

hi me again lol. i was wondering how you’d design some of the maiar? like melian or mairon or a balrog. i’m so curious with how eldritch you’ll get with this lol

Hi there, thanks for the ask! :D I do have some designs for Melian, Mairon, and Eonwe; you can find them here, and here's a height comparison chart with Melian! XD

Granted, my Maiar designs aren't super whacky in the eldritch sense, but I figured the unsettling aspect would be their masks and how uncanny they'd look compared to Elf masks; Melian and Mairon would have more realistically-carved "faces" if that makes sense?

As for a balrog, I'm currently thinking of a Biblically accurate angel, but in dark mode lololl Maybe I'll get around to drawing them one day! XD

Regarding the shiny black leaves growing on Melkor’s body, I think the material might be obsidian. Perhaps they could even be used as weapons! Also, I’m really curious – in your AU, what is the relationship between Sauron and Melkor like? Haha!

Ohh I like that idea! I've never really imagined Melkor growing any sort of branches or leaves, but I can see him only growing these ones if he's feeling a certain way, and his emotions will determine how they grow XD As for weapons, he could maybe use the obsidian leaves as projectiles during his fight with Fingolfin!

As for Melkor and Sauron, I'd imagine their relationship is the same as in canon. I haven't really thought much of them, honestly ^^;; If you have ideas though, feel free to share! :D And I really love your doodles of them, they're just so cute! <333

In The Rings of Power, there’s a scene where Sauron jumps into the sea to save Galadriel. I’m really curious – in your AU, if Sauron did this, would he sink to the bottom because of his marble-like body, or would he have some other way to stay afloat? I drew two pictures: one of the imagined scene, and the other is of Sauron in your AU.

Ohh that's a good question! Also, I love your sketches, they look so cute!! <333 I love Sauron's masks in your style, they're so round and I want to squish them (though I'd probably get beaten up for that hahahaa)

I'd say Sauron would be in danger of sinking since he's technically heavy, but I also feel like he should have the power to stay afloat since he's a Maia loll Like, maybe he has an inflatable bag under all his layers? (that's more of a crack idea that anything, but hey, it doesn't hurt to be prepared XDD)

Is this what it’s like when Melkor removes the mask of the Elf? I’ve drawn some comics, and I’m curious if he treated Maedhros like this.

Ohohhh I love your sketches, they're so cool!! Hmm I'd say that's a very good depiction of an Elf getting their mask forcibly removed; though, since I don't have a clear idea on what an Elf's face actually looks like, I'd probably just frame it in a way that hides the Elf while showing the mask being removed, just to add a bit more mystery and horror to the situation XD

And yes, Melkor would've treated Maedros like that! I recall writing my own little description of how it might've gone; you can find it here below the cut :D

1) does elrond still do the 90° bend even as an adult?

2) did/does Aragorn do the 90° bend or did that trait leave when elros joined humanity?

3) do the Dunedain have weird traits or no?

Hi there! :D Yes, Elrond still does the The Bend as an adult (to Estel's amusement XD)

As for Aragorn, I think he would've tried it as a kid since he saw Elrond (and maybe the twins) doing it, but at some point he had to stop so he wouldn't destroy his back loll Elros might've still retained enough flexibility to do it, but I don't imagine his descendants would've kept that ^^;;

And on that note with the Dunedain, I don't think they have any weird eldritch-like traits; I'd say they're pretty human at this point XD

I may need to retract my statement of drawing all the lords of Gondolin loll That's a lot of eldritch designs to draw! ^^;; But I'll still keep it on my to-do list as a goal to aim for XD

In the meantime, here's Lord Egalmoth with Huor as the lord shows off his fancy towers and views to the young one! I had a really strong image in my head of Egalmoth, given that his heraldry involves the rainbow, so I knew he was going to have layers of colourful cloth. He also has the specific jewels of his heraldry shaped as orbs hanging from his layers XD I really like how it all turned out!

Also!! As an eldritch-related note, I've started posting my not-safe-for-eyeballs doodles on AO3! If you'd like to see some Tuor/Idril action, or even some Finrod/Beor stuff, feel free to check it out! And feel free to share if you'd like to see any particular pairings; I can't guarantee I'll do them all, but I'll definitely add them to my list XD

Hello! I love your eldritch au ideas. What are your thoughts on Arwen, Elladan and Elrohir?

Aww thank you! <333 As for the sibling trio, here are my doodles for the twins and Arwen; since Elrond has reached taller-than-average human height at this point, his children will carry on that size! So they look pretty humanoid, but with the Elf masks XD

Now, if you mean my thoughts about them as characters, I don't have much to offer, unfortunately ^^;; But I like to imagine Elladan and Elrohir joined their father in Valinor at the end! :''')

How did it look like (in your au) when Turin threw a cup at that elf and killed him? I imagine the cup breaking the mask and this must have been a huge thing, culturally and emotionally.

Oh, it wasn't the cup that killed Saeros, but it did anger him quite a bit XD I imagine it wouldn't have been enough to crack Saeros mask either, but I bet Turin could throw it hard enough to leave a scratch or chip a bit of the wood!

As for Saeros dying, I do have a couple of little doodles about that here and here XD
