Anyone talking shit about this flag-
Tumblr media
-needs to shut the fuck up.
I do not care if it's "ugly", I don't care if it's "cluttered", being pretty isn't the point of a flag. It's a symbol of our community and it serves the purpose of representing us.
Yes, I know we are included in the original flag. I prefer the Gilbert Baker flag myself for its history and aesthetics and I feel it represents me as an intersex person. But this isn't about personal preference.
You do NOT know how many people know what intersex means because they asked why that flag was put there. That's people who might've never asked that question. That direct representation of us DOES matter. It DOES help us. And your aesthetic preferences are not a good reason to get rid of a direct refrence to intersexuality in one of our broadly used queer community symbols.

Happy Pride, please remember
- Gender is an internal sense of self, not a magic spell, and does not guarantee anything. Listen to your trans siblings and give space for eachother's experiences.
- Intersex people are not a prop to explain the existence of transness. They are in the fight with you. Have their back or keep your mouth shut. We do not need to step on them to justify why we are here.
- Silence the devil on your shoulder calling other queer identities cringe. He's a fed.
- Yes this means softboi ukulele music transmascs/MTG doggirl transbians/Bungenders/Arsongenders(I've never seen someone call themselves this but I think it sounds sick as hell)/starplatonic aceflux demiro polyams/whoever the fuck you think it's ok to make fun of because you cannot kill the beast within that cringes at labels you don't use.
- Free yourself from the shackles of bio and gender essentialism.

I know people aren't here for the news, but trans folks, I'm thinking of you tonight and how you deserve better.

I've seen some aroallo people say that aromanticism is just a modifier not a real orientation, and you need to be sexually attracted to the "same gender" to be really queer, to invalidate the queerness of asexual, aroace and straight aroallo people. They literally use the term "SGA" (same gender attracted). And I'm sure these people are very normal about nonbinary and multigender people. This is totally not copied from the TERF "real lesbians are SSA (same sex attracted) females" thing /sarcasm Aphobic aspecs make me so incredibly sad. Like we are supposed to be supporting and uplifting each other instead of using aphobic talking points against other aspecs to seem like "one of the good ones"
Those aroallos should be ashamed of themselves. Trying to appeal to leopards that'll eat your face is the most pathetic thing I ever seen online, it's so infuriating. Aroallos are the least recognised everywhere, even in our own community. Appealing to alloros will never work because they never think you exist to begin with, they'll never consider you. All that's gonna do is continue to let alloros treat us like shit. I will never understand why they hate on aces when their on the same end of the stick as we are, getting a little bit more recognised means nothing, at the end of the all; allos can never seperate sex and romance, so until that comes, were all gonna be fucked by amatornormativity either way. This is what I hate the most about the online queer community too, instead of coming together to actually help each other with problems, they just resort to stupid infighting while the bigots out there want us all dead. Idk, maybe we could make some actual progress if we all just come after the bigots instead. I'm just saying.

it's not just about love
Tumblr media
throughout the month of june, but especially today, on international pride day, "love is love" is being slapped everywhere. and while thats an important part of pride and we do fight for equality, seeing the queer movement being boiled down to that always hurts me. as a trans person (and also as someone on the aromantic spectrum), every single "love brings us all together!" and "everyone has the right to love!" feels more and more like a slap in the face.
every day, there's more anti trans legislation. more transgender, especially trans women and transfeminine people of color, are murdered. more trans men commit suicide. this cant be solved with love by itself.
every day, the societal gender norms are shoved down the throats of nonbinary, genderqueer, and gender nonconforming people. these people constantly suffer with not only microaggressions that discredit and invalidate their identities, their non-traditional pronouns, their expressions, but also with actual violent acts just because they dare to exist. and i won't even go into talking about the violence that intersex children are subjected to and how these bodies are made invisible. what does all this have to do with the "right to love"?
if this kind of question has never crossed your mind, i hope you take this post as an invitation to re-evaluate your role as an ally to queer people whose identity is NOT just about their relationships and who they are attracted to, romantically or sexually. what do you do to help the fight this huge part of the community?
not everything can be solved with a rainbow flag emoji.

Excluding the crucial fact that office jobs pay you an income….if staying home to raise children and do chores and bake bread was really so much easier and more joyful than working in an office on some objective level, why aren’t men doing it? Why aren’t they chomping at the bit to be ~leisurely house husbands~ to a working wife? Why aren’t they stepping up to depend solely on someone else’s income in exchange for round-the-clock domestic labor, if it’s really as blissful and their propaganda suggests? Curious.
