Nikolai Gogol from "Bungou Stray Dogs" and

Bill Cipher from "Gravity Falls"

- Summary for those who may not know GF: Bill is a cunning dream demon that makes deals with people and is able to possess someone's body if they agree to it and shake his hand. And of course he loves to toy with people psychologically-)

The background in the first few slides is a visualization of the inside of Nikolai's mind

I got this idea when I thought about Mykola's idea of freedom vs Bill Cipher's, and how they basically have what the other wants xD Canon Nikolai wants to be free from his emotions, his humanity, while Bill Cipher wants to be free from the mindscape and be able to access our world, in other words: physical freedom.

Bill is literally not human, not bound to biology, and probably has the kind of "free will" Nikolai desires, while Nikolai on the other hand has the physical freedom Bill wants- even more so than other humans thanks to his ability.

But in this one-part-comic Mykola starts out believing that it's merely his body that is the trap, until Bill Cipher makes him realise that it's not how it works. Young Nikolai in this AU viewed the concepts of "body" and "mind" as separate units where one (the mind/ soul) represents his own self and the other (the body with all its sensations and emotions) is a "prison" that his self is trapped in. However, in reality BOTH components are part of his real self, equally, and one cannot exist without the other. Losing one of them would mean to lose oneself entirely.

And well- that's what Nikolai decides to try, ultimately ending up with his canon goal:

"You're fighting against God in order to lose sight of yourself."

I hope this makes sense, I am very deep in a BSD and Gravity Falls brainrot and whenever I fixate on two things at the same time this is what happens😭

(Btw, Bill possessing Nikolai is not him achieving his ultimate goal, it's merely a step. A vessel is still just a vessel, and not physical freedom in the way he wants it.

How exactly Nikolai's body could be useful to Bill's plans is up to interpretation since it's not the focus of this mini comic xD)

Heartstopper + Murder Drones is so weird to me to be honest but I love it!

I had to hold a giant golden retriever today for a veterinary practicum assessment and he was heavy!!! 😭

So freaking adorable though!!!

So anyway I felt like watching Murder Drones and drawing so I did both of those things. So I drew what comes to mind when I think of golden retrievers. Weirdly the dog isn’t the first thing that comes to mind😭

I binged Hazbin Hotel and because obsessed. Alastor is my favorite! So naturally I fell into the fandom and I’ve come across soooooo much Alastor ship art with characters some are sexual and honestly… it frustrates me.

Here me out. I know the creator had said she was ok with people shipping whoever with whoever and I respect that but I still feel frustrated about it.

Alastor is a canonically aroace (asexual and aromatic) character meaning he is sex repulsed and has no interest in romantic or sexual acts to some extent or at all. Now people argue that you can be aroace and still be in a romantic relationship and I understand it’s a spectrum but, it’s important to note that this character is… not really the romance type so he’s probably repulsed by the idea of a relationship as well as a sexual one.

And as someone who has dealt with criticism towards shipping I know what it’s like to get harped on and shamed for a ship that I have.

But when there is a character that represents an underrepresented community, being sexualized and romantically represented, in a world full of that stuff, it’s just hard. I myself am asexual and it’s really hard for me to live in a world full of people who are not.

I’d feel ok with people shipping Alastor with whoever but since the aroace community are rarely ever represented and when they are the character that for once resembles their community is depicted in a way that doesn’t… I just think there’s a line crossed.

My community that I rarely if not ever see in media is violated.

And yes again I have dealt with intense shipping wars but in this scenario I just feel the rules change. You know? I’m not against people feeling their feelings I just at least want people to consider the words aromatic and aroace and just the spectrum so many underrepresented people are apart of.

Seriously. There is so much sexual content in the world I don’t want to see and I’m forced to see it every day. And yes I watched Hazbin but I chose to watch it, it didn’t jump out at me out of nowhere. And I can deal with this stuff I just hate seeing my favorite character being depicted in a way that somehow creates more sexual and romantic content that doesn’t represent the character or the communities he represents.

That is all and though I expect literally no one to read this, I thought it’s better left said than unsaid.

I like that the sketches are up to interpretation. These are the colors I saw them in. I know it’s kinda messy but I actually like it so I didn’t care much about fixing the lines and stuff. I messed around with the painting section of procreate. It was fun

I did this yesterday after learning about Kenna’s Instagram story!

This piece was hard and I did so much sketching and line art before deciding to move on to step three. The only reference I used was Kenna’s drawing. It was difficult and I liked that!

Also I heard about why they did it and I’m so going to see Luca in theaters!!!

Im so freaking excited about this! Kenna released ship art!!! I started screaming… and maniacally laughing… and scaring the cats… and confusing my sibling.

So anyway I couldn’t not freak out.

I’ve been practicing shadows and I keep yelling at my iPad “how the heck do shadows work!” My iPads ok. They’re not sensitive their strong. (“They” being my iPad I’m not going to assign them a gender that’s rude!)

The reason I haven’t posted in a while is because most of my art is just cheesy animatics and practice art for increasing my skills. I want to be at least some sort of animator one day.

I’ll probably post some of it… eventually… the internet doesn’t drive me to do anything except canon ship art from Kenna or me saying “what the heck” so yea!

Also… how does water do what it does? In that… how do you draw it?
