The art of deception, proof that lighting alone can tell fibs, firsthand. I've spent years keeping my physique in check after ditching obesity (and for good reason). I have gladly gained weight ever so gradually since. In reality I avoid photos, but I found this amusing (I generally think gym shots are trashy). I've been unable to tilt my neck, having to hold things up in direct veiw, including holding my arm up (I spotted this 😅) In person I'm not jacked, yoked or shredded. A day of all days. Today marks the loss of my Mother seven years ago, and my grandfather three years ago. It's a big three seven for me this year too. This picture was captured at Lake Taupo, less than a year before my mother's passing... in memory of others we have lost already. This picture could write a book of poetry. This year I have had a lot to reflect on, especially after losing a good friend (likeminded with similar passions) last Christmas eve. I beg of you to treat each day like your last. It's no joke that you never know. Phone photo. Having discovered my eyes are dark zinc in colour (according to to my camera and editing software). I was determined to see why they seem blue and intense once I'm hyper focused... according to many. It seems the silly phone camera can pick up at least some blue to isolate, and of course intensify. Unruly as far as quality goes, but also alarming. This month marks the loss of my best friend and mother. I have very few mementos, bar the things I inherited by blood <3. This is about as close as I get to selfie. Random find (my photography from 2016). The picture was an intentional scramble depicting my endless stream of overlapping bright ideas in my divergent way. Another pen is down (2 out of ink, and a third not for off). I could have painted a house with a felt tip by now 😁 My gym bench has also become my art table . All drawn on regular pages with a regular ballpoint pen. With all this lockdown isolation and a seemingly endless stream of unfortunate news. It seems this has been rather therapeutic. Most of the images are logo / header type concepts, inspired by trance infused dance music, and the classic wipEout games. Half my life ago I was doing the very same thing. 2020 seems to be a new chapter. With such scorching of the earth, I've seen far too many ashes in the last decade. I now seek the new dawn; a craving I've not felt before <3 Last decade also re-revealed the artist within. This was painted in 2015 on a 10" polyphonic vinyl (no dj tunes were harmed in the making!) It's been a while... Some things change, and some things never do!
