They say when you have kids you're not supposed to choose favorites, but if my D&D characters are my brain children then I'm definitely breaking that rule for this girl.

Anté Dusklight is my mixed lineage ( Sun/ Moon/ Astral) elf, homebrewed college of dance (before it became an actual subclass) bard. In addition to dancing she sings, plays the lyre and tambourine, and wields a magical sword by the name of "Rhyme", a companion sword to "Reason", the sword wielded by her lover Karshien.

She's generally optimistic, fiery, a hopeless romantic, and outgoing. She's guided by her heart, is quick thinking and equally quick footed. However she can be reckless if pushed into a corner, prone to causing mayhem if bored, and is adept at keeping secrets but can't stand when they are kept from her.

She was raised by her mother and grandmother among a nomadic group of performers and members of a covert society of people looking to dismantle corrupt and oppressive systems of power. The identity of her father was a mystery, as her mother divulged as little as possible about him, saying it was safer that she did not know. The women in her family had inherited both a blessing and curse bestowed upon an ancestor. They would always find their soulmate and know it upon meeting them, however history has proven that they were usually individuals whose existence could prove either great or terrible, shifting the scales of fate.

Anté met Karshien at a young age while her caravan settled in his city to perform for the local nobility. The son of a prominent military family, he was cold and calculating from the start, and she quickly learned by following him around (uninvited) that he was caught up in some dark dealings. Their history was turbulent but overtime as they grew so did a deep connection and affection for one another. But when situations shifted and Karshien realized that in order to protect her from the most dangerous parts of his life, he had to push her away, It left her shattered. After both losing her mother in a twist of events, and believing her lover a betrayer and now dead, Anté left to wander the world until she could put the pieces back together and gather the answers she needs.

[ Meet the Artist- Ashen Arcana ]

Well hello Tumblr, it’s been….well…quite a long time since I was last here. So long I decided to just make a new account. I had been fairly active on TikTok for the past few years, but that ship literally just sank. So here I am crawling back and hoping that somehow I can pick up the pieces and rebuild an account and a community here that will motivate me and bring joy.

So I’ll introduce myself.

Hi I’m Ashe/ Ashen (She/her). I’m from the USA (Ohio), and married to my favorite human and companion of 13 years. I am a mother of 5 cats. (Flóki, Leif, Astrid, Aela, and Saga).

👩‍🎨I’m an artist/illustrator who has been doing freelance work for things like indie tabletop rpgs, D&D character commissions, and various odd projects for the past 5-6 years.

🎲I also play and DM a lot of D&D games, so my blog will be littered with mine and my friends’ OCs.

📚I read a lot, formerly a booktok lurker. I also run a book club for fantasy /seasonal reading known as "The Bookwyrm’s Guild".

🎮 I’m a casual gamer. I play stuff like ESO, Minecraft, BG3, Hero Wars & Animal Crossing.

🌸 I was raised on Anime and shojo manga. My current favorite manga are RedRiver and Witch Hat Atelier, while my current favorite anime are Solo Leveling and Apothecary Diaries.

🧝‍♀️ I grew up spending every autumn at my local renaissance festival, and eventually working, with my dad from the ages of 1-17. I feel like this shaped a lot of who I am. I love history, fantasy, the arts, costumes/ cosplay, folklore and whimsy.

🌿 I practice slow living, and living by the seasons. My art may be more kawaii and pastel, but in my personal life my aesthetic is somewhere between forest witch/ cottagecore or hobbitcore, with some vintage elements. I love wool socks, hand sewn quilts, warm coffee, any curating my cozy home.

🌙 Some of my other hobbies and interests include embroidery, sewing, quilting, painting D&D minis, scrapbooking, candle making, home decorating, playing board and card games, making handmade gifts and sending out cards for holidays.
