The greatest thing about those two is the fact that they're kind of on the same level, their brains share similar patterns, that's why she easily reads him here in a way that feels almost Wilson-like. And I think Arlene does understand Cuddy (it's just that Cuddy doesn't feel that way) and if there's one thing that's sure about House and Cuddy is that he sees her, so both Arlene and House love and understand the same person and suck at articulating it, but there is one thing that House does right and it's the most important one. Cuddy knows this about him, even when she doesn't want to she feels it. But all the convincing in the world wouldn't make her believe the same thing for her mother entirely.

I think it's because... House's understanding of Cuddy links directly to and almost even equals (meaning-wise) his love for her (because House's love manifests in puzzle-solving which is based on a desire to understand and even more so: keep trying to understand which can only be an eternal process if it's a person you're trying to figure out and love how hard that is for him to accept). For Arlene these 2 fundamental facts are contradictory statements. She would love Cuddy more if she didn't understand her.

#he would choose his happiness with cuddy over the misery he believes he needs to be brilliant#which is so monumental for house#bc house pushes stacy away in s2 and refuses to take methodone in s5 because he believes he can't be brilliant without his misery#but he doesn't choose to do the same in s7 is huge for his character#but cuddy's expression always catches my attention#she's strangely contemplative#house essentially tells her you matter more than the puzzles and the misery i need to solve those puzzles#and cuddy doesn't emote any glimpse of happiness#which makes me think about how cuddy told house he's always going to be the most brilliant man she's ever known in 7x01#and how cuddy fell in love with house partly because of his mind and his brilliance as a doctor and who he is#which makes me think about when cuddy tells house you make me better hopefully i make you better in 7x03#and for house to come back and tell her you make me worse as a doctor#but it doesn't matter because i will sacrifice my brilliance and my ability to be a brilliant doctor to be with you#and how he's willing to give up the part of himself that cuddy adores and fell in love with#house makes cuddy better and cuddy wants to do the same and make house better but house tells her you make me worse#like wouldn't that be heartbreaking?#like you don't make the man you love better#you make him worse and make him think i have to lose a core part of who i am to be with her#which makes me think about house telling cuddy you see things as they are and you see things as they could be in s2#cuddy sees house for who he is#but i think cuddy also sees house for who he could be without the misery#she wants him to be the brilliant doctor that he is but she also wants him to be happy#but house tells her he can't be both and he has to choose between one or the other#and i don't think cuddy wants to be the reason he has to choose between the two#and also wanting someone to be a better version of themselves does not equate to wanting someone to change everything about themselves

my hot take is that cuddy doesn't break up with house for the lame out of character reasons the show is selling. she breaks up with him because he tells her he loves her more than being a doctor. and he also tells her she's worth it. and she thinks it's selfish to be with him if it means standing in the way of all these people he would've saved otherwise. and she has always loved him for this very thing that made him almost monstrous, though equally brilliant, to everyone else. which is who he is as a doctor. obviously this is ridiculous because one of the points house m.d. is making (in my head at least) is that being a doctor doesn't stand in the way of your personal life. it's you thinking that it does which ends up fucking everything up. hope this helps.

Government of Iran was bad for shooting Iranians, therefore we should takes Israel's side for *check's note* bombing Iranians. Not very bright, are you?

anyway, humans rights situation always gets worse in a warzone. Israel attacking Iran isn't going to liberate us (and frankly I somehow doubt that Israel particularly cares about stoping human right violations) rebuilding after war destruction costs money, funding military defence costs money. money that could've gone to other sectors, so even if civilian weren't killed by Israel (which they were) the financial costs of war alone is going to make normal people's life and financial situation worse.

To everyone who's defending Iran rn

I say this as an iranian. You either don't know what the government of Iran is like to it's people or you don't remember them literally shooting civilians in the streets who were just asking for basic human rights.

But i remember.

I remember the streets of Tehran stained with the blood of innocent girls.

I hope every government leader in Iran a painful and miserable death and i thank Israel for doing it.

We were already suffering a whole lot. Maybe this war can be the end.
