Damn it!

I had a note full of chapter ideas for AFTFE on my old phone that I replaced NYE and that note seems to be the only thing that didn’t transfer to my new phone!

I’ll need to start it again.

Gah I had some chill easy ideas on there I was going to use as a warm up before writing other chapters and Turk fics. Now I need to try and remember them.

AFTFE Chapter 285 – The First Time They Went Public (Kind of…)

In fact, he had a ‘simple’ three-part plan.

Three little steps.

Three little slips of information that would lead to anyone who was anyone in their day to day working lives finding out one or two pieces of the truth. Eventually, after some time, everyone would have the whole truth whether they believed it all or not.

It sounded suspiciously easy but Anthea knew better that to question Mycroft Holmes when it came to this type of thing. This is where he thrived.

I had a lot of fun writing this one. The format of the chapter made it feel speedy and joyful to write.

It also feels like the most “classic” chapter since I’ve been posting to this again. Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

Full title using naming convention: The First Time Sherlock Found Out About The Engagement.

“What does it say about me that out of three siblings I am apparently the only one so thoroughly predictable?” Mycroft questioned. Sherlock pushed his fingers together, creating a tent in the space, and pressed the tips of his index fingers to his mouth.

 “That you’re the lazy one?” He asked. Steel and sky held each other. “That, or you’re the responsible big brother.”

 “Tell that to Mummy.”

Why?

Why did I try writing for Sherlock himself again?

I could have posted two good chapters and disappeared under my rock again.

Noooooo. I had to finish my idea for last chapter.

AFTFE Chapter 282 - The First Time She Said Yes

AKA I was feeling nostalgic and couldn't leave that story without this chapter exsisting.

How many years had it been 6? Oh boy.

This is a love letter to all those people who read it and love it. I remember it all.

How is the situation with COVID-19 in your family?

Self isolating. I'd probsbly be fine but I worry about Mycroft.

Margot hates not being able to go outside on 'adventures' but we've got a huge garden so I only empathise with her a little.

Sherlock doesn't care about himself but is making sure all his loved ones are looking after themselves. He used his detective skills to find toilet paper for everyone.

We already had a good few months supplies if all necessary medication so we'll be fine.

Remember to flatten the curve.

What do you think about World War III? Is it just rumors or should we be worried?

Mmm...

Mycroft is officially a consultant and our word is no longer the word of Government for sure. However we are watching the situation closely - both out of our own intruiged and being paid by powers-that-be to do so.

Can we comment on what we think? Not yet. Cautious, weary, but still in "wait and see".

Hey! I will give birth soon and I’m just freak out . I wanted to ask: did you have epidural anesthesia?

I didn’t have the epidural. I wish I did, but I didn’t. Here’s a tip; don’t let your pride or a sense of personal strength get in the way of doing it how you want to and making it as comfortable as you need. If you want the epidural then have it!

Jamie, my best friend if you don’t remember, had an epidural for both her births.

New to the blog. So I may have missed a post explaining already. Are there still plans to catch aftfe up to the blog?

Dear, the Australian is a bit busy right now. She’s trying to start her own business and she’s (avoiding) writing her own novel. She would like to continue at some point, yes. I don’t know if she’d ever catch up to now. I think her plan would be to hit the wedding.

Not yet, but we have plans in motion.

I’m glad that you’re are doing well! And it’s cool that you have more free time now. How is Margot by the way? She is three years old already, right?

She's incredible. She's so smart and sassy. She shocks us and makes us laugh every day with what she says and does. Even a one word response can be so full of sass. I didn't think a three year old could be sarcastic but she manages. I think she's just realised if she contradicts us it makes Mycroft raise his eyebrows and look at her and it makes me laugh - two responses that she loves.

Does it mean that it is a first step to retiring?

I don’t think retirement is ever fully on the table for Myc. I consider it more casual/part time including the higher casual rates. Plus its just long service leave. He might go back. It really depends on how much he misses being mentally stimulated all the time versus how much he enjoys being able to spend more time at home. Also holidays and travel.

Nah, we're well. It's Tumblr that something happened to, really.

We have more free time these days. As soon as a certain someone took power my certain someone took long service leave as his little quiet protest. We're still freelancing but those fees are way more than the usual paycheck and for less hours.
