The Matt in the spider-gwen comics is kinda an assassin (haven't read them in a while so idk if he's just a kingpin lawyer or a hitman for him as well)

SM: Long Story short...Ended up staying with ‘em when we found out the Russians wanted Alex back. The only way to stop them from coming after her was to eliminate anyone that knew her and to destroy any existing records of her. In the end, Nebo was handed over to the Black Steppes in exchange for us to leave free - so no more pursuit from the Steppes.
