I think ur characters are very ooc... Like... Alfred literally declared independence from Arthur cus he didnt want to be controlled/depend on someone else. Arthur should be the possesive one or want Alfred to be dependent on him... First of all, there are no countries here, no one declared independence to anyone. This is a completely different story/AU and it can be anything. Everything doesn’t have to be a reference to the actual show or history.
