[ Ganymede startled, gaze turning to where he heard the voice. On the low branches of an olive tree sat a boy, around his age, he presumed. He was handsome- ethereally so. Giant wings were furled behind him, unobstructed by a rose gold bow and quiver. He played with a golden arrow, spinning it around his fingers. ]

H-Huh?

The King. Would you like to fall in love with him?

[ The boy had a lighthearted expression, despite his serious tone of voice. His gaze was fixed on Ganymede as he spun the arrow expertly. ]

I can do that. 

To.. make me fall in love with him?

[ He nodded. ]

You would no longer flinch when he lays his hand on you. Your gaze on him would hold only admiration. You would crave his touch, and better endure his pain.

[ Ganymede paused, shivering under the weight of his words. The idea was tempting, but... dread pooled in his stomach at the thought. It felt like… defeat, although he couldn’t place a finger on why it did. He slowly shook his head. ]

[ That encounter had been millenia ago. It had been their first. Ganymede was now one of Eros’ dear companions. The God didn’t often frequent Olympus, preferring to reside in his mother’s domain, or else wander, performing his duties. But today was special. ]

[ He was typically the most busy on Valentine’s day, but Aphrodite had granted him leave, saying she would take on his duties- with a knowing smile ]

[ And so, he decided he would spend the most of his leave with the one he cherished only second to his own wife… ]
