   “So where are you running off to today,” Cherry looked down at Crow with a raised brow.

   “I’m heading to the market, I just-“ He huffed, shaking his head, “I just need to get out of this hell hole for a little bit.” Moving quickly he shoved his crown and coin under a bush and grabbed a small collar instead. “You said you had your illusion stone right? Well wanna join me?” Crow asked while putting on the collar, once secured his form changed. Standing in the garden was now a joltick dressed in the same clothing as Crow.

   “Of course I’m coming,” Cherry laughed, using her own stone to look like a luxio, “someone has to keep an eye on your royalness. Now hop aboard the bandit express.” She held out a paw allowing Crow to climb on before placing on her shoulder. The two quickly made they’re way out of the castle and into the local market.

Oh wow! You must be Cherry right? You and Crow seem to know each other pretty well, do you often come to hang out with him? You are apart of quite a large criminal organization, so I just wanna understand is all!

Cherry was quick to move in front of the panicking Crow, blocking him from view. Her smile didn’t seem to meet her eyes but Cherry’s voice was as bubbly as ever, “I’m sorry but I think this was a private chat and I’m afraid you’ve seen a bit too much.” She took a step forwards, the orb on her tail beginning to glow and spark.

“Cherry no!” She stopped, glancing down at her friend. Crow was clearly trying to mask his panic but he stepped forward still, “You two. Don’t you DARE tell anyone you saw us together here. If you do you’ll be killing both of us. I’ll tell you but only if you keep your mouths shut. None of this reaches Pyrite or the guards or anyone!”

“I don’t normally hurt civilians,” Cherry hummed, “but if word gets out I’ll track you down and well…” she trails off with a wink.

Crow takes a breath, dragging a hand down his face, “we met years ago. Her mom, Rose is trying to take down Pyrite. Take the throne and all that so it been non stop fights between us and them. At some point they figured maybe hostages would help them and who better than the rulers children. So me and… one of my siblings were kidnapped. While with them I met Cherry. She was nice. Honestly everyone there was pretty nice, at least nicer than here. I’ve been kidnapped plenty over the years and it let us keep in touch.”

“I remember the first time, you were absolutely terrified,” Cherry said with a laugh, “you wanted nothing more than to go home and now you never want to leave us.”

“Heh yeah. We’ve been close friends for a while now. We try to meet up when we can but it’s not easy with both our reputations and lives.”

Seeing no one else Crow continued his way down the hall. It was annoying but required he greet and be pleasant to guests, luckily they seemed to have cleared again.

Turning a corner Crow skid to a stop just in time to avoid crashing into another ghouldling. “What the hell Jay,” Crow glared at the other, “Don’t stand by corners like that, unless you want to be run into!”

Jay simply raised a brow and crossed their arms, “Are you going to the market again?”

“Maybe…” Crow glanced away.

“Crow you know what happened last time you were caught sneaking out!”

“Yeah I know pretty well,” Crow muttered before speaking louder, “I won’t be caught this time! I’ll be back in time cant you guys cover for me?”

“Of course we’ll cover for you,” Jay said with an annoyed sigh, “but we cant if we don’t know your leaving in the first place!”

“You’re smart you would’ve figured it out,” Crow placed a hand on their shoulder, slowly inching past them. “I know I can always trust you guys.”

“Crow-“

“Anyways gotta go!” Crow made a dash past their sibling, continuing their journey.

After a few more turns and through a hidden door Crow has made it to the gardens. The next step would be to find the passage to the outside.

Soft footsteps were the only warning before Crow felt something snag the back of his tunic and drag him into the air. With a Yelp he began to struggle against the grip, turning to look at the cloaked figure who had grabbed him.

”CHERRY,” Crow snarled, “Put me down now you idiot!”

“Fine fine,” the flaafy said with a laugh, “I thought you’d be happy to see me.”

Quickly fixing his clothing after being dropped back to the ground Crow glared at her, “what are you doing here?! They’ll kill you if your found!”

“Oh don’t worry, I still have the illusion stone. And it’s fun to sneak past the gaurds here. And if anyone sees us we’ll just pull the ol kidnapping routine.”

“I could really do without being kidnapped today…”

"Hiya! Nice to see ya again! So, how did you become a royalty? Also, where's Cherry?"

Crow studied the lycanroc’s face, She acted like they had met before but Crow had no recollection of her. Though it was common for people he didn’t know to know him, he was a public figure. But-

“Did you say Cherry?” He glanced to the side and he crossed his arms, “Why would I know where the daughter of a crime lord was? If she knew what was good for her she’d stay far away from here.”

[@team-pokefriends] Catherine: The Dragonite looks confused, but also worried. "Did you say Cherry's… a criminal?" Dread begins to cover her face. "What happened? What did she do?"

“Rose is the true threat but her daughter has taken to the family business and helps. Cherry is wanted for treason, assault, thievery, assistance in kidnapping and a bunch of other stuff.” Crow paused for a moment, studying the worried look on Cathrines face, was the worry about the criminal on the lose or could it be for Cherry herself? “She has yet to be caught. And it is unlikely she will be anytime soon. However she does not seem to target civilians and has yet to have a public kill count so you need not worry about your own safety.”

I am not sure if this is how you are supposed to greet royalty, but I was not really someone who knows how to do so properly, so forgive any hiccups that may happen.

Is there any title to address you by? Prince Crow? Princess Crow? Or Prime Crow?

Or is it more appropriate to just say "your highness"?

“You got the basics for greeting us little guys down anyways. Simple bow and greeting with a title is all you really need. When in doubt your highness is a good catch all instead of trying to guess what title the others are using at the time. Azure is the biggest stickler about getting the proper respect but you shouldn’t have to worry about running into her in the public areas. The others are more likely to overlook mistakes.”

“Now if you were greeting Pyrite…. Well I’d recommend you don’t do that. But that’s another you’re unlikely to meet on chance. But if youre unlucky or stupid enough to come across them you’re best chance is to bow and don’t look up until they’re gone or allow you to. Never address them just by name, it’s always your majesty or Monarch.”

She was lying on her belly; she had to have been in order to even notice. It was wonder that at a height of nearly two stories, she hadn't yet caused some sort of accident with this visit.

Crow couldn’t help but back up at the sight of the giant mon. He was used to others being taller but this was ridiculous! Oh right she was asking a question! Within a second Crow covered his panic with a smile, “Ah apologizes I hadn’t seen you. I am simply on my way to the gardens. You may not understand but with as small as I am I must hurry everywhere I go if I want to have any time to do anything.” Giving Pikavee another glance over his smile seemed to become a bit more nervous and voice more hushed, “I would recommend you partake in the outside tours. The castle is spacious but Pyrite won’t take well to any damages even if accidental.”

Oh! Hello? You're... one of the youngest gholdings, yes? I don't know your name... Are you in a hurry to somewhere with some friends or family? If you want, I could help you out and give you a lift? I can be quite fast!

The small gimmighoul almost trips in surprise hearing someone’s voice. They skid to a stop before turning and looking at you with a smile.

Crow settles their arms behind their back, “Just a warning but I would use a bit more tact when addressing the others here. Especially if you can’t tell us apart. I know this must be your first visit but some of the others won’t take as kindly to being talked to so casually.”

“As for your offer of a ride,” Their smile seemed to strain a bit, “Do not touch me. It is appreciated but I must decline. I can get to where I need to be, there are pathways designed to make it easy for us.”

The ghoulden castle of the west providence looms over the horizon as you approach. You’ve heard many tales told of its ruler on your journey. Most are pleasant and supportive of the one on the throne but you can see the strain in their smiles. The stories you hear only in hushed whispers tell of a crueler truth. Still you track forward.

The castle is open to visitors. Tourists come to gawk and residents pay respects, but at the time of your arrival the halls are empty. Walking through the stone halls you notice a groove dug into the wall at eye height, it’s purpose soon revealed as you hear the pitter patter of a smaller pokemon rushing your way.

It’s one of the royal ghouldlings. The youngest of the group is quickly making their way down the walkway in the wall but it seems they have failed to notice you.
