mike sets down the camera, showing him and peeta (who’s fixing his hair in the viewfinder) on the couch.

“okay, first of all, it took me an absurdly long time to explain ‘babygirl’ and ‘babygirlifying’ to peeta, so don’t say i don’t give you guys anything.” mike says with a tired chuckle.

“i guess i’m fine with it?” he continues. “like, it doesn’t matter much to me.” peeta nods as mike speaks. “since it’s not directly affecting me, i don’t care how people talk about me.” he shrugs.

peeta pipes up. “i think i take it as a compliment! if people are seeing me in a positive light, that’s really all i want,” he laughs softly. “all of the love can be a little overwhelming, but it’s nice to know there are people who like me.” peeta says, trying to articulate his words in a way that accurately shows his feelings.

“thanks for the question!” he says with a closed-lip smile that makes his eyes crinkle up slightly.

josh has the camera, and he’s walking through the house. “having a significant other that’s taller than me.. i think i’d be fine with it? i dunno, i’ve barely had any dating experience, so i don’t really care about the specifics.” he shrugs, stopping at a door.

“derek!” he yells.

(“what?!” derek yells back.)

“question!”

the door opens.

“this anon asks would you mind having an s/o that’s taller than you?”

derek rubs his forehead as the camera turns to face him. he’s got a t-shirt on with some tacky pattern. “i don’t fucking care, man, as long as they’re hot.” he says, getting straight to the point. “can you leave now?”

“uh, well— do you wanna say anything else?”

“no.” derek turns off the camera.

Hi Mike! Are you ever able to sleep with all the chaos that surrounds you in the house?

mike sets the camera down on a shelf; in frame, you can see him with a broom and peeta helping clean in the background of the living room.

“so, in terms of sleep,” mike starts as he sweeps, “i didn’t really sleep much when i was back in my original place, so it’s not that much of a change. clapton is always blasting his godawful music at night, and josh is up playing biotic wars, so it’s kinda hard to sleep.”

“it doesn’t bother me that much, but if i’m really tired, i just take naps during the day.”

mike shrugs, and goes to turn off the camera.

josh turns on the camera, angling it on the counter. he’s in the kitchen, making what looks like eggs? honestly, whatever he’s making is unrecognizable.

“sorry about the weird angle… it’s my day to make breakfast and i’m not really good at it.” he chuckles.

“so, my top three favorite games, other than biotic wars..?” josh trails off as he seasons whatever the hell it is on his frying pan. “i mean… mario galaxy 2 is definitely up there. i think i’ll put that at first place.” josh licks a bit of food off of his finger. “second place…” he thinks. “ooh! little big planet! i love those little sackboys.” he gives a crooked grin.

josh puts whatever he’s made on a plate. “third place is… sonic the hedgehog. the original.” he nods.

“if you haven’t played those games you haven’t lived.” josh shrugs, reaching for the camera. he calls for the rest of the guys, then the video ends.

mike, derek, and futturman are all on the couch. “you caught us at a good time, we’re just here, uh.. watching some reality tv show.” mike says, flipping the camera for a moment to face the tv, before angling it back at the three of them.

mike reads the question. “i mean, i guess im the parent here. we actually function pretty well here, so i don’t have to deal with the consequences of their actions a lot. the biggest issue is derek leaving his stuff all over the house because he expects us to pick up after him.”

derek glares at him. mike shrugs and puts his hands up. derek snatches the camera from his hand and reads his question. “i love social media because you can say, like, anything and nobody gives a shit! twitter’s my favorite, but i have the most followers on instagram.” he nods, a smug expression on his face. he passes the camera to futturman.

josh takes it and reads the question. “ooh, this is hard. i mean, nintendo has all your classic franchises; mario, legend of zelda, metroid… but sega has sonic and the nice-sounding jingle..”

he looks like he’s genuinely thinking deeply about the query. “final answer, sega.” there’s a ‘what?!’ from derek offscreen.

‘when this camera is off, we’re talking about this—‘

i have some questions about this house you guys are in.

did you guys get to bring items from before you got there (derek’s vape and clothing, clapton’s skateboard i think, etc.?)

is the house big? i’m just curious haha

is there a signal to a TV or something? are there books or games of literally anything to do at all?

clapton has the camera, he’s outside in some kind of yard of the house. its about midday judging by the color of the sky.

“okay so all of these questions are totally valid! we had a lot of the same questions when we got here,” he starts, sitting down of the front steps of the house.

“it’s a pretty big house since it needs to fit all five of us.. 5 bedrooms, and 3 bathrooms because derek hogs one all for himself.” he rolls his eyes. he rubs a bandaid that’s on his temple.

“we all kinda just.. appeared here. no memory of how we got here, but all the memories from our original.. places.” clapton waves his hands around as he tries to find the right words, then uses them to adjust his bangs.

“most of our stuff was here. i have a collection of skateboards and some plug-n-play video games, and that was all here. derek has his vape, futturman has his pc.. the thing is, our house and rooms were completely set up and decorated when we got here!” he says, his eyes wide like he’s talking about a conspiracy.

“it’s crazy, man.”

the front door opens, and peeta peeks out to pass clapton a bag of skittles. “thanks, dude!” peeta nods as he leaves.

“but—“ clapton rips his new bag of skittles. “it’s honestly kinda nice. we don’t gotta pay taxes or anything like that.” he shoves a handful of candy in his mouth. “and our tv has cable! it kinda confused mike and i seeing all the new shows, since where i’m from, it’s still 2011, and for mike it was 2000. peeta was kinda scared since he’d only seen tvs in the context of the hunger games.” he laughs as he remembers.

“but yeah, overall—“ clapton pours the rest of the skittles into his mouth. “ifz phretty goodfh!” he says through muffled speech. he gives the camera a thumbs up and turns it off.

he reads the question and a grin spreads on his face. “funny you ask, i remember i had a girlfriend in high school who made me a mixtape. i told her i liked backstreet boys once to impress her, so her mixtape was full of songs from them. i actually hated backstreet boys.” he laughs slightly in remembrance.

“mixtapes just aren’t my thing. i think they’re a bit corny, haha.. clapton would definitely make one though. he’s into retro stuff like that.”

“god, am i old enough to call stuff from my highschool years ‘retro?’” he mutters a bit under his breath.

“whatever, it’s fine. final answer: no, but clapton probably would.”

he laughs a bit and turns off the camera.
