What is it about the ages 19-20 that absolutely alienates you from your sense of understanding? When does the doubt creep in and dust settle in to make our vices seem worse and our virtues null?

When the clock struck 12 on my 19th birthday, it was as if the earth's axis was absent. Suddenly nothing was enough or everything was too much. Worst of all, I was both nothing and everything. 6 months in, I'm afraid this feeling will overstay its welcome and even in moments of utmost clarity, I will still be lost.

I watch my friends lose parts of themselves, hoping they realise it doesn't matter who they are. It doesn't matter what they've achieved or lost. I hope the string tying us together shines enough to make them realise that our similarities and differences are the only thing keeping us together. It's so terrifying to grapple with youth even with love. It always falls short and sometimes I wonder if we're too lazy to keep it going. But who am I fooling?
