// Heya anon! Thank you for your concern! I live in Queensland, which is north of where majority of the fires are (They’re mainly in New South Wales and Victoria). A few months ago it was pretty bad, there were some fires near where i lived and the smoke was horrid, it got me sick a few times.

// I’m very thankful that it hasn’t been super bad where I live and my heart goes out to all those affected down in Victoria and NSW— I’d also like to say a HUGE thanks to our firefighters and volunteers for going to the front lines and trying to stop these fires. I’d also like to say a huge thanks to all the firefighters from Canada and USA coming here and helping. As well as the Australian Defense Force rescuing a lot of civilians and giving them a place to stay. A huge thanks to all the people who are going out of their way on their small dingy’s to try and get people out of the zone. And all the people who are donating!!! The donations are such a big help.

// So today I went to a place called “Crystal Castle & Shambhala Gardens”! It’s found in Montecollum, NSW.

// It was a really beautiful place, it mainly focused on spirituality particularly with Crystals. It also had a lot of information on Hinduism and Buddism. It seems like a lot of small towns in NSW seem to be really focused on spirituality especially with crystals—

// Although I’m not a spiritual/religious person, it did seem really healing looking at all the crystals and reading about Hindu gods/goddesses! (I’ll reblog this post with some more pictures)

// I also visited a quirky little town today. It’s west of where I’m staying. A town called Nimbin also known as Australia’s Drug Capital.

// If you didn’t know, Marijuana is illegal in Australia. Owning, growing and distributing is illegal here. But this town defies that lmao (and everyone i know smokes pot so). Everything is Marijuana related. They don’t explicitly sell any Marijuana joints nowadays (they did back in the 70s before the law really started cracking down on it) though i did see a shop selling small “medicinal” joints.

// They basically have stuff over town telling the government to lift the Marijuana prohibition. It’s wild. The HEMP Party is huge here (Nimbin is quite a small town though so), HEMP standing for ‘Help End Marijuana Prohibition’ (Australian Political Party). They have festivals/mardi gras parades every year to help end the prohibition.

// Nimbin was quite famous back in the day as it basically started the wave of counterculture and for being such a social political town (they basically paved the way for the NSW government to stop deforesting and making national parks be a thing, pretty amazing) and hippies, party animals etc would always turn up to this town.

// Everyone’s so mellow here (i wonder why KSJSJ), some random old guy looked at me and did the peace sign. Everyone either chucks a peace sign or a shakabra sign at you its pretty neat

These record breaking fires are worse than the Amazon rainforest fires, yet there is little to no coverage on it!!! Don't believe me? Look it up for yourself!!
