So are all Malfoys fluent in French for high society reasons or is that just a Malfoy thing?

Well it is a “Malfoy thing” as my father is nearly all French so speaking the language is simply something you do as a Malfoy. But you aren’t wrong in the assumption that it may be part of growing up in high society, most purebloods who are raised the way Pansy, Blaise and I were speak at least one language, usually one of the Romance languages, other than English. For some their native tongue is another language because their family values that link to their heritage and culture. For that reason I also speak Mandarin, though my French is far better. Draco, what do you think it means to be a Slytherin? Like what do you think the characteristics are from what you've seen actually being in the house?

Honestly dear Anon, I have grown to realize the absurdity of the house system. Throughout the trials of our years at Hogwarts I witnessed people of all houses exhibiting the traits commonly associated with other houses. It’s so very difficult, and a bit toxic to define people so strictly by something so meaningless. Who we are is determined by our actions, our feelings, our lives. No matter your house, we are all loyal to our own, brave when need be, ambitious, intelligent in ways beyond the confines of marks and essays. To answer your question though, if I had to define Slytherins in such a way, I would say that because of the sad and ridiculous division between houses Slytherins very quickly develop a strong sense of loyalty to one another, and loneliness, though our pride keeps us from admitting it. We are raised to be calm and collected, but we are not. We are full of passion and fire, and when crossed we will return the offense tenfold. We are extremely diverse people, with varying interests and personalities. I don’t enjoy trying to hold people to the stereotypes of their house, as I know first hand the pain it can cause, but if I had to choose a few traits that I’ve found common in Slytherins it would be those. Hello there followers, worry not, Pansy is here to enlighten you on the lives of a few more of your favorite students. Blaise has just began his training as a healer and has been studying muggle medicine as well, on Hermione's suggestion. He's been doing splendidly so far, but he is a Slytherin so I expected nothing less. I have decided that the ministry life is far too dull for my tastes, and, surprising as it may be, I am quite a good cook. My extravagant upbringing honed my tastebuds to perfection and so I have started my own restaurant, so that I may gift the food I love to those who are unfortunate enough to not eat like I did as a child. I am still contemplating the name, I may call it Eighteen, as my family is the eighteenth in the Sacred Twenty Eight and they are the reason for my culinary prowess. Neville has put his plans to work at Hogwarts on hold. Apparently the little bugger has an affinity for mixology (and possibly me ;)) though I seem to remember him being dreadful at potions. Though it seems impossible he really does make fantastic drinks so he has become my partner in this business, for however long he chooses to be. What do you all plan to do after Hogwarts?

Well, my dear Anonymous inquirer, I have begun the process of starting my own tattoo shop. Thomas and I have been planning this out for quite some time now, I believe you’ve asked about his artistic endeavors before, and now is as good a time as any to make our dream a reality. You see, I’ve been meddling with the magic used to make our photos capture moving moments in time, and incorporating that with the ink we use, so that we can make tattoos that dance along the skin. I’ve been experimenting with a few other mixes as well, to create tattoos that can speak, similar to the paintings lining the walls of our precious Hogwarts, or send sparks flying when the tattooed person wishes. None of these have been quite successful enough to be exposed to the public yet but I am working on it. I will be sure to update our friends here on any progress I make, and the date of our grand opening, when it’s been officially decided. Harry hasn’t quite figured out what it is he wants to do so he’s been helping out with this project whenever he gets a break from his French lessons, suave little Wonderboy that he is.-DracoPs. As we are no longer at school, it’s not quite as easy to promptly respond to asks with everyone’s input, so I will post this and the others will most likely add on to it with their own plans as they see fit.

I know every mod does this, I've already apologized for lulls in posting activity a few times and I didn't even run this blog a full year. I could name a thousand reasons why I haven't been on tumblr at all since I stopped posting on here but I won't because honestly I don't want to give excuses. I'm sure no one cared all that much about this blog to begin with but, after a year of figuring my life out and ignoring the couple of messages in my askbox, I feel pretty guilty and kinda feel the spark again for this. This is kind of a personal question but.. How do you guys deal with nightmares, and everything else that comes with PTSD? Do you have specific people you're more likely to go to for help, or are you guys mainly a big community who is willing to help out anyone with that stuff?

Uh I think that depends a lot on who you're talking to, for me personally I depend on my best mates and my family for most of my support. The whole community is pretty relaxed about helping everyone though, it's not odd to see people who don't normally talk discussing shared experiences and therapy is very commonplace and not at all taboo to talk about. It's probably different for other people but that's my view of it. Thanks for the question! - Ron Weasley

Well that’s an interesting question. I admire many people but as of now there is no one who has caught my eye completely. But I haven’t really thought much about the people I know in that way. How was your guys New Years/New Years Party??? Who kissed at midnight?(Be honest)

It was pretty fantastic actually. First McGonagall transfigured the Great Hall into a gigantic bowling alley. That was exciting. Most of us stayed there until midnight but some people went back to their common rooms. As for who kissed, I’m not quite sure on all of them (there were a lot of people around and there was a lot going on). I do know that about five minutes before the countdown, Draco and Harry disappeared, I think back to the eighth year common room. I saw Ron and Hermione get a quick peck in and (the most surprising one that I saw) I caught Neville and Pansy snogging in the corner of the Great Hall. It was a very interesting night and I’m sorry I can’t report on more couples, the Neville and Pansy thing really kept my attention for awhile. -Ginny Weasley

How accepting is the wizarding community of the LGBTQ+ community? Like, for example, would those who grew up in a pure blood homes be more likely to be homophobic (due to morals within those homes), or is sexuality and gender identity accepted more in the wizarding community then it is in the muggle one? (Does this make sense, I think I may have accidently rambled, sorry)

You may have rambled a bit, sweet anon, but you were very clear so don’t feel badly. I must apologize for how long it’s taken us to respond, the wifi at Hogwarts has been very untrustworthy as of late so it’s been difficult to post. As for the answer to your question: I believe it differs within the wizarding communities. The purebloods I grew up around were generally not very tolerant of anything deviating from the norm, the fact that I am half Asian on my mothers side was a bit of a scandal, even though she comes from a very prestigious family. But even within my family views opposed each other, when I was younger I didn’t really have my own opinion but I eventually learned to accept people for who they are. My father was never quite as sure about the natural state of things like bisexuality and the rest of the LGBT+, being raised to think it was wrong, but when I came out to him he was, after a brief period of shock and discomfort (and probably disappointment at the prospect of the potential end of the Malfoy bloodline), surprisingly understanding and accepting. My mother has always been a very accepting person, though she wasn’t vocal about her views because they aren’t common in pureblood society. I believe the other branches or the wizarding community are also a little wary, in the same way that most muggles are, of change and things that defer from the usual behavior. I’ve found that is one of the many things we have in common with muggles. I hope this is a sufficient answer and I do apologize for the lateness. Thank you for your question. - Draco Malfoy
