Now that tlou is back in conversation i came to get something off my chest.

I will never get over how people who believe tlou2 is a “flawless masterpiece” are unable to grasp the concept that you can dislike it despite understanding what the intended purpose and message of the story line was.

“Omg people just don’t get it, ellie didn’t kill abbie in the end cause of the cycle of violence and it can’t be broken til -“ literally shut up.

People do get it, it was shoved down people’s throats the whole time with no nuance like we’re toddlers with no media literacy or storytelling comprehension. Just because it was sad and torture porny and had a miserable ending doesn’t make it some underrated and unappreciated masterpiece.

Edit: also people shitting on the show so badly saying that it was dumbing down content so people got it like the game didn’t do exactly the same thing and in the most obvious and uninspired ways possible like 💀💀💀 are we fr rn

i'm happy to say my masterlist is officially back visible in my pinned post with hopefully most all of the links now back working as they should. sorry this has taken me so long and i appreciate the people who are still around and the new people who have interacted with my work and have mentioned wanting to read it and not being able to find it.

under the cut is a more personal update and a reasoning behind why this have been the case so read at your own convenience x

as some of you will know, i've had a tough time on this platform in the past, specifically relating to the avatar fandom. the hatred and vitriol, the constant harassment and threats of being doxxed, and feeling shunned by a whole community took its toll on me, and truth be told, i changed my username and deleted my masterlist with the intention of never coming back - a clean slate.

i felt shame, at having been part of it, and so proudly so, and no longer felt aligned with the version of myself that i was at the time. i felt angry, at how people who had declared love and admiration and support for me turned their backs without ever wanting or caring to hear my side of it, and at the people who dragged me into scandals and then cowardly left me to deal with the hate on my own. i felt sad, at the good people i had met that left the platform and me behind, but sure enough, with time, the wounds scarred and left me with perspective. and that perspective was enough to realise that the body of work reflected in these pages, whilst minuscule and peculiar to some, meant the world to me for a whole year of my life.

i put so much of myself in my series, and avatar, for all the flaws of the fandom, gave me back something i thought i lost long ago and a community of 4000 people who i considered my friends and confidants. i am proud of the writing i did during that time and how far i have come, and it will forever be testament of who i was during those time, that i can now look back on and reflect.

i was a depressed phd student who felt pretty alone in the world back then, and now i am a doctor who is content in life and thriving. i am grateful for each and every one of you who still reads my work, and if it means even a small fraction for you to read as it does for me to know you read it, then i know i'm doing the right thing.
