"that doesn't mean i wouldn't blow you" is an iconic confession for a lot of reasons but i love that andrew obviously picked his wording so so carefully there to avoid admitting any feelings involved and then neil's demisexual ass just totally bypasses that and he responds saying "you like me." WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT ANDREW WAS TRYING TO AVOID ADMITTING.

this is one of my absolute favorite moments in the entire series

it's adorable to me how one of the few moments where neil smiles out of pleasure in the books is because he was so genuinely endeared by andrew, even if the was threatening to kill neil at the moment

andrew really bought his dream car and kissed his dream boy within the space of a few hours. I bet that was the happiest day of his life

no but LET'S TALK about how andrew is (outwardly) apathetic in every aspect of his life and towards every person he interacts with; this man shows nothing but indifference (i'd say half of it is true due to his severe depression and trauma/ the other half is just a performance so as not to hurt others with his rage but himself, as neil deduced).

but the MOMENT he gets to kiss neil he drops his neutral facade and throws his self control out the window -and we KNOW how important being in control is to him- and kisses neil like he wants to extract neil's soul out through his mouth.

neil described it like "he kissed him like this was a fight with their lives on the line, like his world stopped and started with Neil's mouth". my boy was STARVING he did NOT care about mantaining his apatheic front.

how is it possible to go from "i hate you 😐 most of the time i want to kill skin you alive 😒" to "let me kiss you like we're souldiers dying in the trenches and the only air i can breathe is through your mouth"

one thing about me is i LOVE outsider pov neil josten. maybe even more than his pov. never has any protagonist ever manic-pixie-dream-girled the way outsider pov neil josten manic-pixie-dream-girled. he's a little insane and feral and unpredictable and has a pretty face and a mysterious past and mafia connections. everyone fucking bends over backwards for him. he's just so ineffable.

andrew's sense of humor is greatly underrated imo

like this moment was objectively hilarious

"if you're going to play dealer who do we have in goal second half?"

wymack looked at andrew. andrew looked over his shoulder as if checking for a third goalkeeper.

One thing I love about Neil is that as much as he's good at pissing people off, he's also uncannily good at getting a lot of those same people to be on his side and even unite behind him. Whether it's through manipulation, cleverly persuading them or just genuinely inspiring them to follow his lead, the guy has a weird knack for getting people to do what he wants.

Nora really knocked it out of the park with how she managed to constantly portray Neil as such an unhinged character. Not just in the bigger scenes or important moments, but even in little snippets here and there throughout the whole serie.

Like what do you mean that after paying a stranger 100$ to knock him out, Neil’s reflection on it the next chapter is “I’ve been quite reckless with how I spent my money recently, I’ve got to be more careful”.

Like, Neil, honey, the money is not the fucking problem.
