In the Bible he is equated with Noah from the Noah’s Ark flood story. However, before the age of Christianity, Aquarius was associated with Deucalion in Greece and Utnapishtim from a similar flood story called the, “Epic of Gilgamesh.” There are many similarities between Gilgamesh, Hercules and Orion “the hunter.” The Sumerian account includes many similar details about the great flood. While the myth from Greece Included Deucalion’s salvation from the flood, but this account did not include saving two of each animal. Deucalion and his wife Pyrrha were forced to repopulate the world by throwing rocks over their shoulders. All of the men formed behind Deucalion and all of the women formed behind Pyrrha. In one account, Pandora from the Pandora’s box myth emerged behind Pyrrha.

According to the Gregorian calendar, March is the month named after the Roman God of war named “Mars,” ruler of Aries and Scorpio in classical astrology. There are a variety of action oriented archetypes in astrology encompassing both male and female gods/goddesses from various cultures around the world, but the unifying theme is change through action and directed will.

In the month of March, we reach the end of the road of personal and collective growth represented by a two year “square dance” between Pluto in Capricorn and Uranus in Aries. If you have made an effort to germinate and conglomerate all of the seeds of wisdom into a beautiful garden of self-knowledge, the last exact square on March 15th, 2015 will serve as harvest time for all of your hard work. Within a week of the big event, The Sun will move from Pisces to Aries on a new moon/solar eclipse ingress that falls upon the equinox and jumpstarts a new astrological year of action and change.

The chest chakra or “Manipura” represents vitality, will, drive, and self expression! In Astrolosophy A Square is a strong aspect that creates friction between planets. This friction, in theory, is felt in the tension found in our thoughts, communications and general behavior!

Instead of beating you on the head with another warning about the shocking lightning strike of Uranus in Aries or the stick in the mud oppression that is Pluto in Capricorn, its time to focus on visualizing what comes next!

Why do I ask that you focus on the next best thing? Because you have been double-dutch jump roping and square dancing for the last few years and you already know about the boot print that will be tattooed to your ass in the weeks that follow.

So why not imagine that they are your favorite kind of boots and that you can put them on and kick back?

We have watched all kinds of disastrous shifts happen since Pluto entered Capricorn in 2008. Changes have been personal (impacting us in a direct way) and transpersonal (impacting us all and provoking critical analysis that leads to collective change). All of this primitive fighting among nations that remind us that no matter how educated we like to think we are, we are still not much better than monkeys in the zoo throwing around their own butt berries.

When Uranus went into Aries, the treadmill of shock and change got turned up so that we can now consider the idea that if we want to call ourselves a “civilized” society we probably need to live in nations where people are not homeless and starving while an obscene percentage of homes remain “vacant,” and food that isn’t sold gets thrown out or spoils in garbage cans 10 feet away from those in need!

I have only mentioned a few examples of the many reasons that I don’t believed that the human race qualifies to call itself “civilized” yet!

Is this a judgment?

NO!  Just an observation.  Besides in a world of plutocratic/oligarch nations my status as a black male and a LGBT individual, means that while I’m obligated to pay taxes, the same system that COMPELS me to do so, does not have to extend the same “rights” and “protections” that presumably I am supposedly entitled to for having paid into them for so many years. OR AT LEAST THERE IS NOTHING THAT HOLDS CIVIC LEADERSHIP ACCOUNTABLE WITH ACTIONABLE LAWS! The Uranus and Pluto tension/aspect brings these topics up for individuals and nations and pushes said discussions towards the top of our collective consciousness.

Why?

This red represents the root chakra, the energies that bind us to our community, the world and the cosmos.

So that we can begin to earn the society of tolerance and equality that nations brag about to attract tourism. It’s about learning that our differences of opinions, like square aspects in astrology, make us stronger each time we have to listen to “the other” side, we have to adjust a little until we get closer to an amicable reality that we can all share.

So the biggest potential change that is coming up folks is the bombshell of conscience that we now have to hold our nations accountable for corruption in government and corporate greed to feel like we are doing a good job of dare I say, “enlightenment.”

So in this world of enlightenment, I would like more solar power, algae that cleans polluted waste from our ecosystem, and institutions that not only work but have agents that really do treat us with the dignity and respect that we merit without abusing discretionary power!

Can I get issues of race, gender, sexuality and class resolved so we can live in this unbiased world where bigotry hangs out with the easter bunny, the tooth fairy,  and the great pumpkin!?

Am I asking too much? Should I have simply been happy with the whole 13th, 14th, 15th amendment thing and wait around for the next Rosa Parks wave of change to come along without doing anything to create the world that I will thrive in. How would you handle such a Herculean task?

Uranus is the outer transpersonal planet of shock and sudden change, but it is also the planet of high expectations!

What in the actual f*ck does that mean? It means if I have such high expectations, I must always be a committed coach and teacher for individuals and collectives so that I can partner with those I would like to see live up to said expectations!

DAMN! MORE WORK! After all that shadow work with Scorpio retrogrades and eclipses, I think I have the patience and the perseverance. The issue is whether people like you and I can make it through life’s little challenges without detours to places where they whisper very carefully called “psych wards!”

You willful people know that sometimes your will is stronger than your body and this can sometimes lead to a multitude of breakdowns before you have your breakthrough! But the good news is that I have had every inch of my ass kicked so hard these last few years that my two favorite sentence is now “thank you, may I have another,” followed by the cosmos’ usual response of, “NOW WALK IT OFF!”

Ignoring that hand print on my neck and smacked bottom, I know enough to feel confident that after I learn each lesson, I sail higher and faster towards my goal. So either I have gone crazy or I have learned to embrace the crazy as a natural part of the cycle of learning that one endures when they live in a world that is not as healthy as the one that they told me I was living in when I was a child.Anybody else ever fully adjust to the inconsistency between what you are told the world is versus what you actually experience first hand?

This is why one must remember that Uranus’ “high expectations,” can work for you provided that you take responsibility to make better choices that will get you what you wish for. Write down a short-term plan and make sure that each of the outcomes fits into a long-term plan.

Am I saying its going to be a tough month? NO! I am simply saying be ready for some hard work! The Capricorn moon arrives with the solstice on the 21st of December just before Saturn in Scorpio loses its lease on the 23rd.

Expect there to be incredible civil unrest in 2015 as Uranus “The Awakener,” will be pushing against the status quo in an effort to place our attention on sovereignty and fairness.

So its almost like the Saturn remix until about January 20th (at least) since Saturn rules Capricorn and at one point ruled Aquarius. So your inner critic will be measuring out everything you don’t do correctly along with everything that you succeed in doing well. But the real test of these new changes will be full moon in Cancer just a few days after the euphoric cleansing of New Year’s eve.

So for a number of reasons I definitely think we have a lot of work to do before we can call ourselves a civilized society, aspects like this shine a light onto our shadow so that we can stimulate the discussions that need to be had so that we can manifest the world that we dream about.
