just because you’re not seeing much about it doesn’t mean it’s not happening.
there are children in gaza having amputations without anaesthetic.
there are women in gaza having c-sections without anaesthetic.
it is hard to find food and clean water.
there’s a video of a father carrying what’s left of his son in plastic carrier bags.
there’s a video of a mother seeing her son rushed into hospital.
there are palestinian children writing their names on their arms incase they get bombed and are unrecognisable.

Hello again Tumblr, sorry for the disappearance :'D i'm busy wrapping up personal stuff before starting college, but I'm back with more stuff about my OCs!
These two characters are Faelyn and Lilac, one of my favorite friendships in my comic to write! I'm SO excited to show more of their dynamic later on in the story. They do experience a lot of grief, but I'm playing around with the idea of reuniting them in the Real World near the end of the comic!
Here's the part of my comic these two pages are from:

Oi, Mr. Gaiman (or Neil, idc).
I'll put you in context: Last thursday, at 11 in the afternoon, me looking at social media.
I see a post (edit) of Coraline, I get into comments and I see a person who says (exactly) "Coraline it's about drugs and addictions". Me, surprised, I answer "I think Neil Gaiman hasn't said anything about that.".
That person, a few hours later, answers me "It's about drugs and substances, whether you like it or not". I sigh (I hate people who are very pushy), and I reply with all the respect in the world:
"Look, Coraline is not about that because if not, it would not be aimed at an underage audience and Neil Gaiman (the writer) I would have said something about that. And, according to what I know, he you was inspired by a house where he lived." (I'm not sure about this)
After a while, that guy kept insisting. I didn't answer, making it clear that it wasn't worth answering, but damn! I don't like theories, and there are some that can be interesting and they don't contradict, but that one?
That seems very uncomfortable to me, since the book and the film are aimed at a smaller audience, if it were at least a book/film for teenagers (+13 I guess) then it could make a little of sense.
And well, what I want to say is, I know that you don't like theories and that you may not care, but, for me, it is really necessary to deny this one.
A long time ago I said words to the effect of, "When someone tells you about something they found in a story, they are right, for them. When they tell you that that is all the story is about they are always wrong." And that's how I feel. If someone finds a way of relating to a story that resonates with them -- in this case the person you are talking to deciding that Coraline is about addiction -- telling them they are wrong doesn't mean anything, any more than me telling a literary PhD student that they are wrong about my book would mean anything.
People find things that speak to them in fiction, whether intended by the author or not. All I would ever say to anyone who thinks that they have found the only key to a story, is that it's one key amongst thousands, and the story will mean other things to other people, and those other things are just as true.

"Grief"
Your hand slid from mind
And you walked to the door
Your eyes full of tears
As you stared at the floor...
You didn't want me to see
So you pretended to smile
Told me a joke and said
This is only for a little while...
I was hoping you were right
But knew it couldn't be true
I couldn't keep you here
No matter how much I loved you...
I'll hold on to every piece of you
Your scent, your laugh, the light in your eyes
I couldn't bring you back to life
I never said my goodbyes...
That was only just a drean
I never saw you leaving
My back was turned as you walked away
The beginning of my grieving.

INTERVIEW: Sebastian Masuda, SUSHIDELIC, and the Power of KAWAII!
A talk with the founder of a new psychedelic Japanese restaurant in SoHo, NYC

Sebastian Masuda first opened the store known as 6%DOKIDOKI way back in 1995 during a pivotal time for Tokyo's Harajuku fashion scene. With its over-the-top colors and positive vibes, 6%DOKIDOKI quickly became a launching pad for the candy-coated extreme look of Japanese KAWAII fashion that eventually went global and entranced millions.
Recently, Sebastian has gone next level with the opening of SUSHIDELIC, a new Japanese restaurant in New York's SoHo neighborhood that promises patrons an "immersive Kawaii experience" — effectively a slice of authentic Harajuku culture smack dab in a major American city.
It seemed like a good time to catch up with Sebastian to ask him a few questions about SUSHIDELIC and the state of KAWAII culture in general…

You’ve often talked and written about how you believe that Japanese KAWAII culture can save the world. Do you still think that’s possible?
The essence of "KAWAII" is to create a microcosm within oneself. It's the philosophy of "This is something I won't give up, this is my own original style". What I've done tends to be picked up, so people tend to imagine KAWAII = colorful things, but in fact, any image is good. What constitutes a person's microcosm is free. The meaning of "KAWAII" differs from person to person, and it's good that it differs. In the past, everything came down from the top-down from authority, and the value of things was determined that way. But now, with the spread of SNS, if there are a million people, there are a million "likes!", and movements that change the world from SNS are emerging. I think the essence of "KAWAII" activities lies there. In other words, I think "KAWAII" is not a thing, but a movement. "My this is good, but your that is also good." I think the first step towards peace is to accept each other's values in this way.

Do you have a favorite item on the menu at SUSHIDELIC?
I guess it would be macaron sushi. Not only does it look cute, but its sweet and salty taste is addictive, so I recommend it.

hey I wanted to wish a very special disability pride month to every disabled person who’s getting worse. to people who are losing the ability to do things they used to do. people whose symptoms are increasing in severity. people who are developing new symptoms. people with degenerative and terminal disorders. people who are dealing with new disorders on top of preexisting ones. happy disability pride month to everyone who knows they’re not getting better. there’s nothing wrong with that, and you deserve to take pride as much as anyone else.

The worst thing about milgram is how they decided to translate the voting as "Guilty" or "Innocent" when a more accurate translation would be "Forgivable" or "Unforgivable".
I feel like a lot of english speaking milgram fans would benefit from knowing this when making their judgements.

hey guys so in case you didn’t know, @bfpnola is cool as hell
specifically rn we are working on revamping the former-mental health now health resources library.
we are trying to make this as comprehensive and international as we possibly can, but I am only one Australian and there is much of the world I know little about.
so if you guys have resources you recommend, especially ones from your country/state/area, please recommend them to us - either on this post or in DM.
even if you don’t have a recommendation, sharing this around so more people see it would be great!!
categories we’re trying to cover include but are not limited to:
- crisis lines
- madness & mental illness
- queer health
- reproductive & sexual health
- BIPOC health
- neurodiversity
- country and culturally specific health resources
- discrimination in healthcare
- harm reduction
- cutting cop involvement in health & medical services
- abolition in (mental) healthcare
- dealing with the healthcare system while disabled or chronically ill
- accessibility & mobility aids
- (over-)medication & access
