This week I've been at an art exhibit that's showing off the work of artists from all over Herefordshire!

Tomorrow is the final day of the exhibit (it's open until 5), and it's been so much fun so far. I've loved meeting all the other artists, drawing in my downtime, and meeting so many lovely visitors!😊🧡

TF2 Scout in Toriyama style

Hello again! Sorry for the lack of posts over the past few months, I've been busier and busier at work.

Had some time to draw again today since I'm off work sick so I had to find some way to occupy myself and also keep busy in this awful heatwave that's over here (the UK) at the moment.

So I started a small drawing project I proposed in the discord server a while back- that I would try to draw the TF2 mercs in Toriyama's style. It made me really sad to hear of his passing a few months back because his Dragon Quest games were one of my favourite series growing up (IX was my favourite). It was a fun challenge and I'll try and get through all the mercs if I can. This is just a quick sketch of Scout to try and get the hang of the style initially (and also quick because the heat outside is making me expire…)

I adored all the new TF2 maps and gaming on the server with everyone, it was really fun and I can't wait until the next round of games for Smissmas (and other games in the meantime of course).

Might do another poll for more merc portraits, but this time they will be winter loadouts! ❄️

I painted this last weekend on a big A3 pad.

Was really fun to do a detailed bird portrait because I haven't done many in a while. Media under the cut...

Art media used: Daler Downey Aquafine brush and cold pressed watercolour paper, small Airfix brush, Daler Rowney simply watercolour paints, Derwent watercolour pencils, Derwent Academy graphite pencils, Faber-Castell dust free art eraser (green), and Uni Pin Fineliner black pens.

As soon as I saw the new Valve art, I knew I had to draw spy in that killer dress.

I based it on the official art along with this stock photo (below). You can see my progress pictures on my IG story, page, and further down on this blog. He was extremely fun to draw, been ages since I've drawn a full head-toe humanoid character portrait.

Media used: Faber-Castell Pitt artist pen wallet (I used the 0.3, 0.5, and 0.7 nibs), Derwent Academy graphite sketching pencils (I used 2B), and Faber-Castell dust free art eraser (green), Daler Rowney Aquafine watercolour paint brushes (Round 1, Round 4, Flat Shader 6), Daler Rowney Aquafine watercolour paper cold pressed NOT A3, WHSmith 24 watercolour pencils, Derwent Watercolour pencils.
