Light 'Em Up

Lukas hauled the last of his and Emil's things into the house. They'd recently moved again. From Gaoling to the middle ring of Ba Sing Se. After setting the box down, the fire bender sat down on the couch. He'd get to unpacking tomorrow. Purple eyes look over when Emil walked in. Something was handed to the older male.

"What's this?" Lukas asked. It looks like a flyer of sorts. "It's for the Flying Koi Carnival," Emil said. "Carnival, huh?" Lukas asked. "I take it you want to go? Is that why you're showing me?" There was a faint nod from Emil. A soft sound escaped Lukas. "We can go in a bit, I just need to catch my breath," he said. Emil nodded again. He sat next to Lukas and rested his head on his brother's lap. A hand ran through Emil's hair.

Elizabeta. She lives closer to the Upper Ring. At some point, she had wanted to join the military, but had no luck in doing so. They wouldn't let women in. Fortunately, she had found work in the carnival industry. Specifically the Flying Koi Carnival. Whenever they had group activities after each event, she'd opt out of it. She was always tired by the end of it and just wanted to rest. For the most part, the others were ok with it. Green eyes look up when one of the guys walked up to her.

Lukas and Emil were walking into the carnival when one of the ladies ran into the older blond. Looking at her, Lukas noticed her green eyes, brown hair, and the upper part of her light green outfit had several cuts on it. Someone had come running after her, so she hid behind Lukas, whom looked at the guy.

"Sorry about her," he said. "She's prone to getting injured and running so we can't take care of her injuries." Lukas looked at her again to see her trembling. She seems afraid. "What's your name?" He asked her. "E-Elizabeta," she said. "Is what he said true?" Lukas asked. Elizabeta was quiet for a moment before shaking her head no. Lukas looked back at the guy, creatin a fire lash in the process. "I need you to leave her alone from now on. Lest I give you a worse punishment than she had to endure."

Born This Way

"Hah, what's a non bender like you going to do about it?" Blue eyes of Matthias look at the person that said that from his position on the ground. Antonio. The tanned male had been born a fire bender in the fire nation as compared to Matthias being a non bender from the southern water tribe. If only his twin Mikkel were here. Mikkel's a water bender and could easily take Antonio if by chance this were to happen. Despite Mikkel not really being much of a fighter. Antonio's hands caught fire and he reached out to the male dressed in blue. Matthias backed away from the other. A wicked laugh escaped the fire bender. "You can't escape me."

That's when it happened. A fireball struck Antonio in the face, causing him to stumble back. Both Matthias and Antonio look to see who had thrown the fireball. Standing there dressed in various shades of red is a brunet with purple eyes and glasses. In this outfit they could be mistaken for a member of nobility. Smiling, Matthias got up and joined the other, kissing their cheek.

"Eirik, you're here," he said. "You saved me." He hugged Eirik, whom smiled and returned the hug. "Hi, Matthias," they said and kissed Matthias. Then they glared at Antonio whilst still in Matthias' hold. Antonio sneered. "Didn't realize the future ruler of the fire nation was gay," he said. "If I were you, I'd leave," Eirik said. "It's not like people would believe what you said if you were to tell them about Matthias and I. Besides, I could always put you six feet under with no trouble at all." The last sentence was said with a dark expression on the fire nation heir's face, which usually sent people running away. Rolling his eyes, Antonio walked away from the two. Once they were alone, Matthias and Eirik look at each other and smile. "I love you," Matthias said. "And I love you," Eirik said, booping Matthias' nose. A giggle escaped Matthias. "Cute," Eirik said.

Marry Me

August 14 Prompt: Proposal/wedding // Zodiac

Matilde smiled. Today was the day. She was going to do it. She was going to ask Bente to be her wife. Ring? Check. Location? Check. Now all she needed was the girl.

Bente smiled a bit and finished carving the pendant for the necklace. Now all she needed was Matilde and a location to ask the question.

"Hey, Bente," Matilde said with a smile. Purple eyes of Bente look at Matilde. The water tribe woman paused a moment to watch her. "Oh, hi Matilde. Ready for our date?" Matilde smiled and nodded. "I made sure it's extra special this time." Bente smirked and said, "Any time I get to spend with you is extra special." Matilde smiled and took hold of Bente's hand, pulling her to the location she had in mind.

The location selected wasn't too far outside their village of Shu Jing in the Fire Nation. To Bente's surprise, flowers had been grown in many different shades and types. She looked around and smiled, then came across a blanket sitting not too far away with a basket on top of it. She smiled as Matilde went to set up the blanket, setting the basket on top and sitting next to it. Matilde smiled at Bente and pat the blanket across from her. Smiling more, Bente went and sat across from her girlfriend. What she hadn't knows was that there was a surprise waiting for her in the basket.

"A picnic. How romantic," Bente said. "I did say I made it extra special," Matilde said. "And I made some of your favorite foods." She started pulling some of the foods out of the basket and set them on the blanket. "That's sweet of you, Matilde." Bente kissed Matilde's cheek, earning a smile from the other female. "There's... also another surprise in the basket," Matilde said. "I think you should look in there." At this, Bente raised an eyebrow, but she did look into the basked and saw the ring sitting there. For a moment she said nothing, but her eyes did well up. "Are... you proposing?" She asked. "What would your answer be if I said I was?" Matilde asked. "Yes." Matilde smiled more. "Then I guess I am." However, her eyes widened when Bente pulled a hand carved betrothal necklace from her pocket. "I was going to ask the same thing." Matilde covered her mouth as tears pricked her eyes. She had no words to say, so she nodded. Bente put the necklace around Matilde's neck as Matilde put the ring on Bente's finger.

You're What?

August 13 Prompt: Fate // Rich kids DenNor variant: Hanne (2P Nyo Denmark)/Ingrid (2P Nyo Norway)

Ingrid raised an eyebrow. These prices were too high. How were they supposed to afford anything when they didn’t have enough to pay for it? Dang rich people. A sigh escaped them and they left the shops, hopefully looking for food elsewhere. They came from one of the poorer cities of the Fire Nation. Both Ingrid and their sister Valdís should at least have something.

Hanne, on the other hand, came from the Northern Water Tribe, which happens to be faring a lot better than some Fire Nation cities. Not to mention some places in the Earth Kingdom, but that’s besides the point. She had gone out on one of the fishing trips and through the use of water bending, managed to catch a few. A faint smile crossed her face as the fish were brought in.

One day, Ingrid happened to by by a body of water when they spotted something. Is that… a person? On a boat in the water? What’s going on over there? It looks like they’re water bending. And would you look at that, they managed to catch some fish. Once they had all the fish needed, the water bender took the boat back to shore. Ingrid decided to go say hi to the other. As they approached, they could see that the person is a female with short blonde hair and purple eyes.

“Hi there,” Ingrid said when the other was at the shore. Purple eyes look at them in surprise. “I’m Ingrid,” Ingrid said. “Haven’t seen you around before.” There was a moment of silence before the water bender spoke. “Hanne. I’m from the Northern Water Tribe,” Hanne said. Ingrid gave her a look. “So, you’re one of those rich people, are you?” They asked. A soft giggle escaped Hanne and she smiled a bit. “Yeah, but I don’t mind sharing what I catch.” She gave Ingrid a couple of the fish she had caught. This time, it was Ingrid that was silent for a moment. “You’re different from the other rich people. Most of them are snobs.” “Well, as I said, I’m from the Northern Water Tribe. For the most part we were taught to be nice to others.”

As time went on, Ingrid and Hanne’s friendship became stronger. Hanne would buy things for Ingrid if they couldn’t and in turn Ingrid would protect Hanne while she was fishing. One day, Hanne asked the one thing that Ingrid hadn’t been expecting.

“Would you be my partner? As in romantically?” There was a moment of silence. “Yes.”

Icelandic Express

August 12 Prompt: Iceland // Telling stories

DenNor variant: Matilde (Nyo Denmark)/Lukas (1P Norway)

Matilde smiled as she met up with Lukas. Apparently, he'd decided to bring his brother Emil along with him. This was a slight surprise, as Emil didn't have many friends. The most he did was go to school and occasionally go to the market with Lukas. Now the three of them could adventure together.

It wasn't until they were a week into their adventure that the trio found themselves in the middle of a fight with bandits. The bandits consisted of earth benders and fire benders. Good thing they happen to have a water bender (aka Matilde) to help them where it counted. This went on for a while until... something had happened. What had caught both Matilde and Lukas off guard was when, all of a sudden, the ground surrounding the two and Emil turned to lava. And that was after the younger male had touched the ground. This allowed them to keep their distance from their attackers. After a while, the bandits ran away with more injuries than pride. Matilde cheered and hugged Lukas.

"You're a lavabender!" Matilde exclaimed when the three were eating. "That's so cool!" "Why didn't you tell me?" Lukas asked. "Surprise," Emil said. "I'm still new to it. And it's not like I have anyone to teach me, since there wasn't really any lavabenders in Gaoling." "Yeah, that's true," Lukas said.

When it was nighttime, the three found a place to sleep and Lukas paid for their rooms. Yet, somehow, Matilde had found her way into Lukas and Emil's room and ended up sleeping with them.

August 11 Prompt: Royal // Sightseeing

DenNor variant: Matthias (1P Denmark)/Eirik (2P Norway)

Eirik glanced at the guard. They knew that Matthias was coming over at some point and no one else knew, which means they'd have to get rid of the guard if Matthias were going to sneak in. When the guard's back was turned, that's when Eiri lunged and knocked them out, leaving them laying against the wall outside the door. Same with the other guard that showed up.

Matthias looked around the city. When Eirik said they lived in the Fire Nation, he didn't think the other meant the nation's capital. He looked around the different houses, specifically the second levels, to see if Eirik was in any of them. Next thing he knew, there was a figure in one of the windows. Familiar purple eyes, brown hair, and glasses. A smile crossed both their faces. Soon a ladder was thrown out the window that Matthias climbed up. Once he was in, the ladder was pulled in.

"Hi, Matthias," Eirik said and hugged the other. "Hi, Eirik," Matthias said and hugged them. Standing on their toes, Eirik placed a kiss to Matthias' cheek. Not everyone in the Fire Nation is accepting of couples that aren't straight. Especially Eirik's parents. Sure, they were fine with the pronoun change, but when it came to relationships... That was a different story. "I love you, Matthias." "I love you, Eirik," Matthias said. "I wish we could tell my parents, but..." Matthias shut Eirik up by kissing them. Eirik practically melted into the kiss.

"Your highness," someone said. "Hide," Eirik said in a hushed tone after breaking the kiss, pushing Matthias to the closet. Once Matthias was hidden and the closet door shut, the door to their room was opened by Arthur. "Oh, hi Arthur," Eirik said. "Is there a reason why your guards are passed out by your door?" Arthur asked. Eirik shrugged. "I guess they were overworked." Arthur raised an eyebrow. "Is someone in here with you?" Eirik shook their head. "It's just me." If Arthur found out about Matthias being there, then chances are he'd tell Eirik's parents and they didn't want that. Arthur still seemed skeptical, but went along with it and left Eirik alone in their room. After he was gone, Matthias came out of Eirik's closet.

"Why didn't you tell me you're part of the ruling family?" Matthias asked. A sigh from Eirik. "I didn't ask to be part of the family, it just happened," they said. "As for the hiding you part... my parents don't want someone to rule if they're in a differing relationship." Matthias proceeded to hug his partner from behind. Eirik leaned into the hug.

Trying Outfits

August 10 Prompt: Trust // Costumes

Purple eyes of Mikkel look around. So, this is Ember Island. Matthias had said that he could use a bit of a vacation, so he ended up here somehow. It was fairly obvious that he's not from around here, mainly because everyone's wearing clothes in different shades of red and he's wearing shades of blue. Yeah... maybe he should get some Fire Nation clothes. Beach type, at that. Gotta love Southern Water Tribe clothes, though.

A soft sound escaped the blonde Fire Nation woman as she entered the front of the shop. Bente had heard the bell at the door chime, signaling that someone had entered. What she had been expecting to find was rowdy teens that had managed to tear their clothes. Not... a water tribe male. She just stared at him for a moment as he approached her. Gotta admit, he is kind of cute.

"Did... you need something?" She asked. "Is it ok if I look around?" He asked. "Yeah, sure," Bente said. Mikkel nodded, looking around at the different clothes. Finding some clothes he liked, Mikkel paid for them and left the shop. Soon after, he did find a place to stay and tried on the clothes he bought.

Sometime later, Bente found herself on her way to one of the water tribe islands. Specifically, the Orca Islands. If only she had remembered to make warm clothes. Fortunately, she had managed to run into some people from the Water Tribe. One of the faces seemed all too familiar to her. Blond hair, purple eyes, beard. That's when he showed her a peak of red clothing. Oh, right. That's why he looks familiar. Ember Island.

Homecoming

August 9 Prompt: Home // Country

Lukas sighed and looked out the window. He's been relocated to Gaoling in the Earth Kingdom, whereas his family had been from Shu Jing in the fire nation. It was five years ago that he had come out here and there were things he'd been missing from back home.

Matthias, on the other hand, had been from the Southern Water Tribe, yet here he is in the Earth Kingdom. Reason being that he's trying to find the Avatar and he knows that they're an airbender nomad. He'd looked through most of the Earth Kingdom and hasn't been lucky thus far.

A soft sigh escaped Lukas as he searched through the market for what he needed. He'd been running low on food, so he's looking at the different food stands in particular. Seemingly distracted, he didn't notice a certain water tribe male standing there and collided with him. Blue and purple eyes look at each other. There was a moment of silence before either of them spoke up.

"Sorry about that," Lukas said. "It's fine," Matthias said. Another moment of silence from the two as they stared at each other. That is, until Matthias' stomach rumbled. Matthias placed a hand on his abdomen and laughed it off. "Sorry, I guess I'm hungry." Lukas squinted a bit. "Do you have anywhere to stay, by any chance?" "Ah, not really," Matthias said. "I've just been wandering the world in search of the Avatar." "Why not stay the night with me then?" Lukas offered. "I could make a traditional fire nation dish." "You don't have to do that," Matthias said. "No, but I'm going to," Lukas said, collecting more food and paying for it. "Besides, you're hungry." He then took Matthias by the hand and took him to his place, where Matthias was surprised to see a young teen dressed in Earth Kingdom clothes as opposed to Lukas' Fire Nation outfit.

"Hi, Lukas," the boy said. "Hi, Emil," Lukas said. "We have a guest tonight." Purple eyes of Emil look at Matthias as Lukas went to the kitchen to prepare some food. "So, Emil, huh?" Matthias asked. Emil nodded. "Who are you?" "Name's Matthias," the older blond said. Matthias and Emil talked for a bit until Lukas had finished cooking and handed the plate to the male dressed in blue. Before Matthias could say anything, Lukas said, "It's Silverskim fish." "Thanks," Matthias said and started eating.

"Have you traveled to other places besides the Earth Kingdom?" Emil asked after Matthias had finished eating and washed his dishes. "Oh, yeah, I've traveled to many places in the Fire Nation," Matthias said. "Learned a lot of recipes as well. Anything you're in the mood for?" He asked and looked at Lukas. He seemed to think about it for a moment, then said, "Fruit tart." "I think I can make that," Matthias said, then went to see what ingredients they had. Lukas sat and waited, playing a short game of Pai Sho with his brother Emil. Once the fruit tarts were done, Matthias offered one each to the brothers. The two smiled a bit and ate the fruit tarts.

August 8th Prompt: Early 2010s internet fan culture // Music

Matthias smiled and headed to the location he'd been given. At least once every month the group had music night. Supposedly there was a new person joining them tonight and he had no idea who it was supposed to be. As he approached the destination, blue eyes came across someone standing there with an instrument on their shoulder, a bow in hand. Oh, it's an erhu (aka a violin in other places). The other didn't seem to notice he's there. Matthias looked over their outfit to see that they're from the fire nation. Purple eyes of the newcomer shut as they started playing. The sound of the music had Matthias stop in his tracks and listen. Normally he'd be swaying along to the music if it were anyone else, but not in this case. The song went on for a while and when it was over, the brunet opened their eyes and looked at Matthias, adjusting their glasses.

"Eirik, hey," another voice said after a moment. The purple eyed brunet looked to where the voice came from and smiled. "Oh, hey Tino," Eirik said. Ah, Tino. Another Southern Water Tribe water bender. "You made it," Tino said with a smile as he joined the other two. "And I see Matthias is here as well." "Oh, so your name is Matthias," Eirik said and looked at the taller of the blonds. Matthias nodded.

Sometime after first meeting, Matthias had asked to meet up with Eirik again at some point with their erhu. They agreed. Much to Eirik's surprise, when they got to where Matthias was, they saw him with a pipa. A smile crossed their face when Matthias asked if they could play a duet. The response from the purple eyed fire bender is a single word.

"Yes."
