Hawks (Takami Keigo)

Affiliation: Special Abilities Division

Ability: Modern-winged Antique

Description: Hawks’ ability is one of manifestation. His back is decorated with extensive tattoos, all elaborate filigree and painstaking detail that mimic the vast spread of wings, and when his ability is activated, these feathers manifest as solid objects, which Hawks can puppeteer at will.

He tends to restrict use of his ability to specific numbers of feathers, as manifesting them requires energy - the more he manifests at once, the more energy and effort it takes. Often, he’ll only use one or two, wielding them as blades. Unlike canon he cannot control the nature of these feathers. They are always sharp and unyielding, similar to bone in material composition but harder than steel. They are still extremely sensitive, and he can use them for surveillance, but it comes at a cost: no matter how he uses them, Hawks can always feel his feathers.

The ultimate use of his ability allows him to manifest the entirety of his tattoos, with the feathers taking the shape of giant wings. He can and will fight with them, though unlike BNHA Canon, flying requires all of his attention - he cannot fight and and fly at the same time. This level of control takes a toll however, and extended use leaves Hawks exhausted and often suffering from something similar to mild malnutrition.

Bio: Under Construction - TL;DR Is that he was taken in by the Special Abilities Division and specially trained from a young age. Not a Hunting Dog - he chafes against the rigidity of military operations and prefers the relative freedom working solely as an agent for the S.A.D. gives him. Not necessarily an undercover agent, but a capable informant and surveillance operative. Often used to monitor Abilities users in organizations where immediate action isn’t needed but constant vigilance is. 

Personality: Cocky and self-confident, Hawks is often blasé about his work as an agent. He does care about the misuse of abilities for greed or control, but time has taught him that control comes in all shapes and sizes, and that greed is not limited to those on the opposite side of the law. As a result, he relies on his training as a government agent to maintain a confident and charming front that masks a man currently wrestling with balancing his experiences and personal ethics against everything he was taught as a child. Incredibly loyal but difficult to get close to in any significant way.

      The smile that crosses Hawks face is a combination of barely restrained hysteria and reluctant glee.  It’s awful,  ungainly and hideous and huge and he thinks it’s the best gift he’s ever gotten,  because it’s just so fucking irreverent.

      It also has limitless potential for holiday chaos,  which Hawks is a big fan of.

      In a few hours he’s definitely going to hide it behind the bathroom door for someone else to find when they try to use the toilet.

Shigaraki Tomura

Affiliation: Independent (Port Mafia, loosely)

Ability: Nothing Beside Remains

Description: Much like his canon Quirk, Tomura’s Ability allows him to increase the rate of degradation/decomposition of anything he touches. In inorganic materials, such as metal and stone, this manifests as rapid erosion or oxidation and molecular destruction, eventually reducing the target material to dust. In organic materials, including living things, Nothing Beside Remains manifests as accelerated decomposition and eventually, dessication. Any being that survives Tomura’s Ability would require immediate medical treatment to prevent severe health complications and infection.

The limits are these:

To activate his Ability, Tomura needs to have all five fingers of either hand in contact with the target. Conversely, breaking contact with even a single finger after his ability has been activated will stop the process. It will not reverse the damage done, including structural instability and rot.

Tomura cannot control his Ability’s activation. If he grabs something with all five fingers, it will activate, whether he wants it to or not

He can, however, control the speed at which it affects the target material. This speed can vary anywhere from just fast enough to be visible in real-time, to almost instantaneous (this however requires a massive amount of energy that can result in physical damage/exhaustion to Tomura himself)

Bio: Tomura’s ability manifested unexpectedly and at a very young age, resulting in the traumatic death of his immediate family at his own hands. Unaware of the concept of Abilities and frightened by his own destructive power and its consequences, Tomura ran away from the crumbling ruins of his family home.

A young child on the streets, it wasn’t long before Tomura was forced to use his Ability in self-defense, which garnered the attention of a local crime lord. Seeing the potential in Tomura’s Ability, the man took him under his wing, helping to train his ability and introducing Tomura to the criminal underworld. 

Tomura’s teenage years were a blur of intensive and horrific training as he learned the true applications of his ability for both practical purposes (evidence disposal and clean up) and tactical advantage, the limits of it proving effective on their own for intimidation and control.

Despite having been raised with the intention of eventually taking over his mentor’s syndicate, Tomura rejected the responsibility when offered, instead choosing to make his own path. The complexities and bureaucracy of leading such a large operation held no appeal to him, and so he decided to forge his own path. 

Currently, Tomura works as a fixer-for-hire. He’s extremely selective with the contracts he takes, choosing them mostly on a whim and with little concrete reason, and cares little for the intentions or ramifications of his actions. He is intimately familiar with the effects of his Ability on both dead and living human flesh, and delights in holding this knowledge over those who might question its effectiveness. He can frequently be found lurking at a bar run by his mentor’s former second-in-command in Yokohama’s seedier district.

Personality: Though not quite as spoiled and immature as early canon, Tomura is still rather selfish in his motivations. His behaviour hinges on whether he finds the subject interesting, but his criteria changes frequently and with little warning. As a result, his mood is mercurial, baseline apathy interrupted occasionally by bouts of manic anger or excitement. He cares little for the struggles and pain of others, with mild exceptions made for those he deigns to get close to, though they are far and few between.
