flooding ur inbox with addison youre welcome
addison asking what kinda coffee you have, and you tell her and “i’ll have to remember to order that for you, tomorrow morning.” she takes a sip of her coffee “ 7 work for you?” aaaaaa
7 am
The sun shines brightly down onto your face as you order your morning coffee. It’s almost so bright you can’t see a thing, but you manage to squint hard enough to see the man at the cart.
It’s almost too hot to breathe outside, especially with your lab coat on, and you can feel a sweat breaking out across your forehead.
You thank the man whom you’ve come to know in your time at Seattle Grace, and start walking back towards the hospital entrance when Addison pops out of nowhere, almost glued to your side.
You go to take a sip for your piping hot coffee, but Addison reaches her hand out.
“Ah, ah, ah,” She removes the cup from your hand. “You know what always happens. You take a sip and then burn your tongue. And I have to hear about it all day.”
“Mmmm,” You groan, your daily dose of caffeine now confiscated.
“Oh, you’ll be fine,” She rolls her eyes playfully, the two of you standing off to the side near a bench.
“Will I?” You playfully squint back.
“As a matter of fact, yes.”
“What makes you so confident?” You flirt back with her, because you’ve had a massive crush on her for months, but she hasn’t seemed to notice.
“Well, to start, you’re on my service today,” She smiles a wide smile, a surge of energy coursing through her veins.
“Aren’t I always?” You joke, reaching for the coffee, but she’s quicker than you, pulling her arm back before you can reach it.
“Oh whatever,” She sticks her tongue out slightly.
“When will I get my coffee back? That I payed for?” You point out.
“In a minute. After it cools down,” She says, eliciting another groan from you.
“I need my coffee,” You pout.
“After. It. Cools. Down,” She enunciates every word, and your eyes are drawn to her lips as they form around her words.
“Fine,” You cross your arms, standing there waiting patiently.
“Look at you, you can actually follow commands,” She winks. “That’s a good girl.”
“Give me my coffee,” You reach out again, and this time she gives it to you.
You drink the coffee, thankfully hiding your face behind the large cup, because her comments have your face hot. But if she asked, it was the sun.
“Whatcha got in there?” Addison has a teasing smile on her face.
“Uh..” You share your coffee order with her, and she is, again, bouncing on her toes with excitement.
“Do we have an exciting surgery today or something?” You give her a weird look because you’d never seen her so chipper.
“No,” Addison’s smile turns into a frown, and you have to admit it’s pretty cute. “Just.. I’ll have to remember to order that for you.”
“What—“
She takes a sip of her own coffee, “Tomorrow morning?”
“Addie—“
Your cheeks flame again as you realize what’s actually happening. Addison Montgomery is asking you out.
“Seven work for you?” Addison has a smirk on your face, no doubt from the red blooming across your face.
“Y— yeah,” You nod fast, both nervous and excited to see what Addison has in store for you.
She takes off towards the hospital doors, her hips having a new rhythm to them. Her head turns and she’s shouting back, “Come on, Dr. L/n. We do have an exciting surgery, and we need to be there now!”
You speed up, knowing this — whatever it is — is going to be fun.
“Good morning, Dr. L/n,” You arrive beside Addison just as she’s getting the two of you coffee.
She gives it to you and you give her a look, “You aren’t gonna gate keep my coffee today?”
“Nope,” She smirks. “I’m in a good mood. I’m feeling generous.”
“Uh-huh,” You say in a disbelieving tone.
“You’re also pretty cute when you complain,” She sighs.
You sip on your coffee, hissing as the hot liquid burns your tongue.
“You know, I would’ve thought you’d have learned by now,” She shakes her head, grabbing the coffee from your hand. “But you haven’t.”
“Addie,” You whine.
She chuckles, “Yep, there it is.”
“Why did you let me have that,” You talk with your tongue sticking out. “That hurt.”
“Because you would’ve cried about it the whole time like yesterday,” She shakes her head with a chuckle. “Come on, let’s get inside. You’ll feel better soon enough.”
Her hand slides over your back, resting on your hip as she leads you into the hospital.
“You know what will help?” She looks down at you, the height difference becoming evident.
“What?” You ask.
“This,” She leans down and gives you a kiss on the cheek. “And an ice cold water.”
You laugh slightly, your cheeks heating up from the affection she’d just shown you. She grabs your hand and the two of you walk further into the hospital.

Carina is afraid of Reader getting hurt (she is a police officer) and maybe, just maybe, they get hurt? You don't have to if you don't want to!!
Authors note: This story has been sitting in my finished documents for about two years haha. So maybe it's not all that well written
ᕚ---ᕘ
Working undercover was exhausting, if not draining. You were aware of it both physically and mentally, yet you accepted the job. Accepted it in hope that, like every order, it would pass quickly. You had been investigating undercover in a drug gang for several weeks now. Barely exchanged a word with your wife for endless days to protect her from the cunning mastermind of the gang. Sporadically, there was a short on-minute-conversation at a phone booth here and there, but it was not enough. On both sides.
Carina was worried sick; she only got fleeting answers from your lieutenant on how you were doing. She was so concerned for your life that the brunette even fell ill and had to be hospitalized. When you found out, you wanted to break your cover and risk your life just so you could see her. But she managed to stop you, promising she would take care of herself until you were back home.
You missed everything about the cozy apartment you shared with her. The scent, your bed. Even the smell of cheese that had spread throughout the kitchen. But mostly the closeness of your girlfriend and the warmth that reached you every time you had a hard day at work. All of that you had to exchange for a cold, sparsely furnished one-room apartment outside of the city.
With each passing day it became harder to maintain the disguise. Everything got on your last nerves and ripped you apart. On the very first day, you wished that you could leave work and go back to your family but it had taken you a long time to earn the trust of the drug lord, Joaquín González, before he gave you permission to do big jobs. You were basically his second hand and knew everything about his business.
Even so, you still had to wait to snag all of his followers. At least until this evening where the cruical deal would go through. If everything went smoothly, you could go back to your old life tomorrow. Back to your family. The day passed faster than you could have imagined and it slowly started to get dark. The pink tone of the setting sun gave you a feeling of security and freedom- a feeling you had not had in a long time and made you believe that everything would turn out the way you wished for.
Slowly, you sat down on the chair you had prepared and waited out the last hours before your assignment while you looked through the small window. The landscape was swallowed up in a deep darkness, so completely dark that you felt the cold and hatefulness filling up your heart. Without the feeling, you could not think straight in the violent drug clan. This feeling had changed you, you felt it deep inside. That freezing cold surrounded you and gave you the courage to do any assignment without hesitation so you would not experience pain. But you still hoped to shed that mask once you were safe in the arms of your beloved Italian.
The mask had so often saved you from a mental collapse on missions, that you might not want to take it off as protection for further police operations and it shocked you deeply, that you even believed in wanting to keep it. After each undercover assignment, Carina was always able to give you the feeling of security, and the conscience that everything would be fine again. But you were not sure if she could still save you from what ate away your soul this time.
Of course you knew that she would do everything in her power to get your old self back- Carina had managed it all the time. The brunette would take care of you, spoil you like your life was more important than hers. This time was different. You had been separated from your old life for far too long to make up for with a few days of utmost nurturing.
A small tear, which you quickly wiped away, rolled down your face. You were not allowed to cry, you had to blame yourself for your fate and now you had to face the consequences.
ᕚ---ᕘ
"Where is she? Where is Y/n?" yelled a rough and worried voice at a nurse of the emergency room and you could immediately assign it to Carina. Frantically, she made her way to search between the occupied beds for the woman for whom she was the emergency contacts. „Deluca, calm down. She is here, I will lead you to her"
To her ears, the spoken sentence of Owen Hunt sounded like a war. Knowing the seriousness of the situation, she felt nothing but pure fear. Worries enveloped the woman and she could not imagine finding you badly injured somewhere in the emergency room and realizing that you were hovering between life and death.
The brunette swallowed hard. She missed you so much and just wanted to back healthily. Quietly, she trotted behind the head of trauma surgery, very carefully and slowly, until she came to a stop in front of a curtained bed. There, she already heard your pain-distorted grumbling while stilling in her movement.
Carina had never forgotten how your voice sounded, longed for it every single minute of the day. And now, hearing it without the hum of the phones terminating line, her heart was racing like the first time she had met you. She was only centimeters away from you, as close as she had not been for a long time. "It hurts like hell!"
"I wanted to give you a pain hemmer but you refused," she heard the soft chuckle of Miranda Bailey and a stone rolled from her heavy heart. You were not badly injured, at least not bad enough to be concerned for your life. "Now live with it"
As the brunette doctor moved the curtain with a firm grip to gain access to you, she looked down at you with glassy eyes. Your clothes and face were spattered with dirt and blood, your jeans cut down on one leg to the thigh. Her eyes widened to the bulled hole in your femur, blood still dripping slightly through the stitches already in place.
"Bella, what happened? Stai bene?" (Are you alright?) her voice trembled and was overwhelmed by choked tears. She sneaked through the narrow space between bed and curtain and knelt down next to it. Her warm hand softly cupped your cold one, that was gripping the bed sheets, and squeezed it tightly.
"The deal was overrun by my colleagues. The shooting was in full swing and some were trying to escape. I wanted to help another police officer and I caught a ricochet myself. It is half as bad, it was a straight through shot"
Disorted in pain, your body tensed up briefly before relaxing shortly after; abruptly pinching the hand of your wife before your eyes turned back to her. Deeply, her fawn eyes stared at you, some pitiful tears welling up from them before they closed. "For a brief moment I thought I lost you, mi amor"
Thinking lines appeared on her face and you swallowed impercepitibly. You knew her mind was working through every negative scenario she had ever saw in movies. A faint smile appeared on your face and you broke away from her before you put your hand under her chin and tenderly pulled her to you. "Carina, look at me"
The addressed opened her eyes slightly, pure was immediately recognizable. A tear rolled down the Italian´s face and she grabbed your midsection to cross the last empty space between you. "You did not lost me. I am still here"
Gentle kisses spread across her ruddy cheeks, forehead and nose; trying to catch her bitter tears. You hated when she cried. But you hated yourself even more for causing those sadness upon her. Such a great woman like Carina did not deserve to be in a constant state of fear and you were more than sorry. It broke your heart and shattered it into pieces.
"You won't do me another mission like this. Mai più, capito?" (Never again, understand?) she said insistently. Her arms broke free from you and crossed over her crumpled pink scrubs, expertly starting to pout. "Se lo fai di nuovo, ti uccido io stesso" (If you do it again, I'll kill you personally)
That it was your last police operations for the time being, which you would do in the next few weeks, was more than clear to you. But you did not care. The most important thing you had to worry about now was your wife, whom you had neglected for weeks, and your health.

You woke up with a throbbing head and a clogged up nose. Originally, you thought you could power through it and suck it up long enough to finish a shift, but the moment you stood upright your world became disoriented.
Doing your best to breath through the dizziness, you reached over for your phone to call into work. Grey practically pleaded with you to stay home when you mentioned you would come into work if you needed to, “you have more than enough sick days, use them and keep your ass out of my station.” You just sighed and agreed, saying your goodbyes when he wished you to get better soon.
Without much thought to it you passed back out on your warm comfy bed, hoping sleep would rid you of the constant pain your brain was forcing you to endure.
Lucy checked her watch when she got in, thinking maybe you were just late or had been caught in some early morning traffic. As the time ticked away she decided maybe it would be best to text you, and when she didn't get an answer her thoughts ran around her head like an athlete competing in a race that would determine if they go farther into their season.
She opted to check in on you when she was out on patrol, getting into her squad car and making you her first check up of the day, praying to whatever could hear her that you were there and okay.
Pulling up to your apartment she felt a ping in her chest, she wasn’t sure why she was so worried about you. You guys weren't exactly a couple, but the others would argue that you two were basically already married, you both would laugh it off and call the team crazy, still continuing the narrative that you two were just ‘friends”.
Lucy knew better than that though, she knew you were the first person she called when she was having a rough night and needed a warm bed to share with someone, you were the first she told about good news, you are the only person she truly, and deeply loved with every living and beating part of her body.
She grabbed the key you had given her for the nights she needed someone, after the Rosalind situation you forced her to promise you that no matter the time of night or day she would come over whenever she needed to. Lucy wouldn’t say she now abused the fact she had a key to your place, but it was used more than her own key to her apartment at this point.
“Y/n?” Lucy called out, she heard the faint sound of a groan coming from your bedroom, alerting her of your presents. “Hey, are you oka-” Her words were paused by the sight of you, your skin was shining with sweat and you were cramped in a fetal position. “My love, what happened?” she quickly came over to you touching your forehead, flinching at how warm it felt compared to her skin.
You only groaned and rolled over, “i really don't feel good luce.”
You tried your best to explain all your symptoms, but your scratchy throat only allowed for so much irritation before you were in a coughing fit. Lucy rubbed your back gently, doing her best to coax you through your attack, “Here let’s get you out of this stuffy room, and on the couch, yeah?” she encouraged. You nodded leisurely and threw your arm over her shoulder, allowing her to help you to your living room.
Quickly, Lucy put anything and everything you could possibly need besides the toilet in arms reach. “Before I leave, do you need absolutely anything else, babe?” you only smiled at her with droopy eyelids, “No, but i wish you didn’t need to leave” you pouted at her causing her to smile.
“Call me or text me if you need me, I'll be here in an instant.”
And then she was gone, you continued to pout until her next check up with you during lunch. “Okay, love, i brought you some chicken noodle soup and some cough syrup” she set the soup in front of you with cold water and a pre-measured cap of medicine. “Thank you, love” you croaked out, “You don’t have to thank me” she replied while helping you get in an upright position so you could comfortably eat your food and take the disgusting medicine.
“I'll be back after my shift, and remember to call-” “call you if i need anything, i know, honey.” you finished her sentence, she left you with a quick kiss on your forehead.
After eating and forcing yourself to down the medicine you fell back asleep, you woke up a handful of times with the constant tossing and turning, and being too hot or too cold. You finally decided you had slept enough and reached for the tv remote, aimlessly flipping through channels.
You heard the door click and a smile began to grow on your face, “sorry i'm late! Traffic has been just awful today” Lucy explained, taking her shoes off and sitting her to-go bag on the counter. “It’s okay hon.” you looked at her as she sat down.
“How are you feeling?” Lucy asked you, as you laid your head down on her lap looking up at her, “I've certainly been better” you joked.
She reached her soft fingers to rake through your hair, massaging your scalp, aiding the headache that had been attacking your head all day long. “Well i'm here now, darling” she looked down at you, soothingly rubbing your forehead, lulling you to sleep.
She gave herself an imaginary pat on the back at getting you to sleep so quickly, making a mental note that maybe when you get better she’ll finally take you on a long awaited date.

Lucy Chen x reader
Staff outing and they end up going home together and rushing to work the next day and people start asking questions and Angela and Tim end up figuring it out when reader and Lucy leave work together at the end of the day
nothing
When the alarm clock woke both of you up this morning, your eyes burnt from lack of sleep and your neck was aching from the position you slept in last night.
Last night was a last second outing that John of all people suggested, but it was a much needed break.
So much so that even Tim accepted the invitation.
Everyone had a good time and at the end of the night, Lucy offered to ‘drive you home’ because you’d left your car at the station, riding over to the bar with her.
But the truth was you and Lucy had been dating for some time and hadn’t spent the night together yet. Lucy suggested the two of you should spend the night together. Nothing sexual, but she wanted to sleep in the same bed as you, because as stupid as it sounded, she just wanted to hold you after the week you’ve all had.
She reaches over you to shut the alarm off, settling herself on top of you.
“Hi,” Lucy looks down nervously, an anxious smile on her lips.
“Hi,” You reach up and twirl a few strands of her hair between your fingers. “You’re cute when you wake up.”
“Stop,” Lucy shakes her head and falls back into her spot in bed.
“Come back,” You chuckle and roll over so you’re on top of her.
She looks into your eyes and leans up to put a soft kiss on your lips.
You make a face when her lips leave yours and she puts her hand over her mouth.
“Oh,” She speaks through her fingers. “I have really bad morning breath. I’m so sorry.”
She begins to laugh and you shake your head, removing her hand from her lips to you can get another kiss.
“I don’t care,” You say as you kiss her again. “I just wanted another kiss.”
“That can be arranged,” Lucy moves her hand to snake around your neck to pull you closer when her second alarm goes off.
She groans softly and reaches over to turn the alarm off again.
“Just.. just five more minutes,” Lucy moves back over and pulls your face back to hers.
“Lucy Chen, are you asking for a five minute make out like teenagers?”
“Maybe,” She shrugged, the newfound confidence glowing on her skin.
“I’m down,” You smile and give a soft nip at her lip.
“I cannot believe we are late,” Lucy throws her head back angrily as she swings the door open to the station.
“Luce,” You say in a soft voice, pulling her aside in the lobby. “It’s okay, alright?”
“Well— wha—“
“Shh,” You press a finger to her lips. “We will figure it out, okay? I promise.”
She closes her eyes and takes a deep breath, “Okay.”
Lucy opens her eyes and smiles nervously. “I really want to kiss you right now.”
“What? You didn’t get enough this morning?” You wink and walk through to the main section of the station, making your way towards the locker room.
“Boot!” You suddenly stop at Angela’s words. “Where have you been? I’ve been waiting.”
“Um..” You look around and move your bag up on your arm to buy time. “Well Lucy drove me to the bar last night and then home and my car was still here. And you see—“
“I didn’t ask for your whole life story. Just say you left your car and Lucy had to go out of her way to get you,” Angela puts her hand up. “Get changed and hurry. We’re running a high stakes operation today, and you should’ve been in an hour ago.”
“Yes ma’am,” You hurry off and only then does she notice that you’re wearing the same shirt from last night.
You’re all but finished changing when Lucy finally comes through the doors.
“What took you so long?” You ask, taking extra time to pull your shoes on.
“Tim,” She shakes her head, opening her locker and pulling clothes on. “He chewed me out in front of the whole station? Can you believe it? Actually, don’t answer that because we both believe it. I’ve never been late the whole time I’ve worked here — unless it was life threatening — and the one time I accidentally do he has something to say. God, I can’t believe we were late. And they are out there gossiping, and just—“
“Lucy, baby,” You stand and pull her in by her open uniform top, placing another kiss on her lips. “I promise you, it’s going to be okay.”
“Okay,” She nods and presses her lips onto yours again. “We’ll be okay.”
“Chen! L/n! Let’s go!” Angela’s voice booms from the door and you finish putting your shoe on.
“I’ll see you out there my love,” You place a rushed kiss onto her cheek and are out the door in a second.
“Took you long enough,” Angela says, lurking by the door.
She squints at you and you put a hand on your chest from her scaring you.
“Oh my— don’t do that,” You furrow your brows together. “What is that face for?”
“Nothing,” She tilts her lips down and shakes her head.
“Doesn’t seem like nothing,” It’s your turn to squint now.
Lucy stumbles out of the locker room, still buttoning up her shirt.
“What are you guys standing out here for?”
“Nothing,” Angela continues shaking her head, looking between the two of you. She leaves the two of you standing with a chuckle.
She walks back over to Tim and the two of them turn away to talk while you and Lucy share a look.
“Let’s go,” Tim turns around after a second. “Not you, Chen. I want L/n with me today.”
“Good job today, boot,” Tim says as the two of you exit the shop.
“Thank you, Officer Bradford,” You nod, eager to be praised from another officer other than your TO.
“You know, with being late and everything.”
You roll your eyes once he turns away from you and you walk behind him to return the war bags.
“The paperwork will be waiting on your desk,” Tim stands beside you awkwardly, his lips resting in a straight line as you return the bags and put your body cam back.
“Do you need something?” You ask with a confused face.
“Nope.”
“Okay so what’s wrong?” You move to walk towards the locker room.
“Nothing,” He shakes his head with the same expression Angela had earlier.
“Okay, what is wrong with you guys?” You raise your voice slightly. “You and Lopez. You keep making that face. Am I not allowed to ask Lucy for a ride to work?”
His eyes change at the use of first name and not last name like you normally would.
You huff and walk off, “Leave the paperwork on my desk.”
“Already planned on it.”
You make your way to your locker, and most of the women were also changing at the same time, so you couldn’t get a fix of the craving you wanted. (Kissing Lucy).
You settled on a few secretive looks in her direction, which very much did not go unnoticed by Angela.
You and Lucy finished at the same time, her going a little slower once you came into the locker room make sure you were done at the same time.
Lucy keeps a hold of your bag strap as the two of you exit the station, Angela following close behind.
Tim is standing at the exit — in a darker area, where Lucy and you can’t see him — waiting for Angela.
They both stand together, watching for the two of you to make any moves that indicate you are more than friends.
You hop in the passenger side of Lucy’s car and the two of them share a look.
“They are so together,” Angela stands with her arms crossed over her chest, sticking one hand out.
“Yeah, I hate to admit, but you’re right,” He slaps a twenty in her palm.

Reader finds out that Lucy needs a fake girl/boyfriend to take to her family bbq, reader steps up and offers to go with her. After a great night, Reader walks Lucy to her apartment door, where Lucy finally admits to herself that she likes reader and invites her inside. (R, is a cop also.)
Lucy Chen x Reader.
family barbecue
“Please!”
A begging Lucy grabs your attention.
It isn’t really anything new, because she begs for a lot of things, but you couldn’t help but listen when you heard the words family barbeque come out of her mouth.
You turn your head to see who she was begging, and you see Tim Bradford, her T.O.
It didn’t make sense to you about how or why she would ask Mr. Grumpy Officer Cupcake, but to each their own, right?
Wrong. Because he shoots her down – for the fourth time this week, you learn after Tim shoots her a glare – and a pout comes onto her face.
You see her look at Nolan, who immediately shakes his head no.
You’d known how her parents were, as the two of you frequently hung out together, but you’ve never met them. And maybe that was for the best, because you might be in jail for 25 to life for murder.
Lucy turns her head the slightest bit to see you, and she just shrugs, officially giving up.
You step forward a few feet, coming to her side.
“What’s this I hear about a family barbecue?” You lift your brows curiously.
She huffs and looks at you from the side, seemingly tired of talking about it already, because family talk stressed her out, and presence there is mandatory.
“My cousin is having a barbecue,” She rolls her eyes and shakes her head. “It’s so stupid. Just— forget it.”
She turns to leave — most likely the break room so she can sit in misery for her lunch break — but you grab her by the arm to stop her.
“Hey, hey,” You look down at her. “Tell me about it. Please.”
You see her eyes shift to your lips from the close proximity, but think nothing of it.
She was just looking somewhere other than your eyes, and they just happened to land on your lips.. right?
“It’s a stupid family get together and a night or two ago my mom called me about it and so I said yeah I’ll come and for some reason I said I’d bring someone and I don’t have a— a someone,” She balls her fists up at her sides. “So now here I am, begging for someone to go with me and act as my boyfriend because I don’t want to look like a liar at this stupid barbecue that I don’t want to go to now because I’m single and I’ll be bullied and ridiculed the whole time if I show up without someone with me.”
“Lucy, Lucy, Lucy,” You put your hand on her shoulder at an attempt to calm her down. “Take a breath,” You breathe in and out with her.
“And Tim and John said no, so I’m out of options.”
“I’ll go with you.”
It was a simple statement. Four words. A promise.
And yet Lucy didn’t believe her ears.
“What?”
“I said I’ll go with you. I’ll act as your girlfriend.”
“No, I heard you. I just don’t understand why.”
“Because I know you, Luce,” You give a soft smile. “I know that you’ll end up going and hating yourself for it and I’ll end up running into you crying on Monday and I don’t think I’ll be able to handle it.”
Lucy wants to ask what you mean, but she doesn’t because you aren’t finished speaking.
“So I will go with you. I can’t let you go alone and be abused with questions from your parents. Especially since they already hate on you for your choice of job.”
“This means a lot to me,” She grabs your hand and squeezes softly, your heart skipping a beat. “You have no idea.”
“Just let me know what time. I’ll pick you up,” You smiled back at her and stepped a few feet back, going to find your TO.
She asked you to be there around twelve, and you were right on time. You even showed up with a bouquet of her favorite flowers.
You came to the door, which she insisted you didn’t need to do, but you did anyway, and proceeded to open the car door for her as well.
She attempts to hide her blush, and luckily you’re too busy trying to start the car that you don’t notice.
Lucy doesn’t really speak on the way to her cousins house, and you’re sure it’s due to nerves.
She only speaks once you get there, and it’s to warn you, once again, but you shut her down because you already know. You’re more than capable and more than willing to step in today and be whatever she needs to you to be.
You walk around your car and let Lucy out, already turning heads of her family members who were out front.
Once she was out of the car, her mother was on the two of you in an instant.
She must be a mind reader or something, because how did she know the two of you were there? Nobody had said anything.
“Hello. You must be Lucy’s..”
“Girlfriend,” The two of you say at the same time.
“Girlfriend,” She nods, her face unsure. “And how did you meet this.. girlfriend of yours?”
Her eyes are trained on your face, but her words are pointed at Lucy, and you can feel her shift beside you.
You move your hand to her back, giving her the confidence she needed.
She turns her head and sees you smiling at her with encouragement, and all of the sudden she’s able to tell her.
“We met at the station,” Lucy smiles giddily. “We’re in the same rookie group snd I liked her as soon as I met her. Really. Her eyes are gorgeous.. I could lost in them all day. And I know you hate when I talk about my work, but you asked, so.. when she was injured I rushed to the hospital and I just had to be there for her because I was in love with her and she needed me. I asked her out after that. And so.. here we are.”
You feel your breath leave your lungs because that was a true story. It’d happened only a few months ago, and although she didn’t ask you out, it still felt real because only now were you realizing the way she looked at you wasn’t in a friendship kind of way.
“That’s nice,” Vanessa cleared her throat, obviously uncomfortable with the fact that her daughter was not only a cop but was now dating a woman.
“Mom—“
“Come on, your father and Alexandra are waiting. She invited you and it’s not nice to be late,” She grabbed Lucy’s arm and you walked behind her.
She looked uncomfortable but there was nothing you could do now.
You made a mental note to take her for slushies later to make her feel better.
Her mother takes the lead and you walk up to stand beside Lucy.
“I wish I could say I’ll get you out of here in an hour, but I don’t think that’s possible.”
“Yeah, definitely not,” She looks down sadly, and all you want to do is hold her because you never want to see her upset.
“Hey,” You grab her hand. “We’re gonna have fun, okay?”
“Okay,” A small smile comes onto her lips, and you pull her in for a hug.
“Come on,” Vanessa snapped at both of you and you have to keep yourself from getting heated with her.
“Come on,” Lucy mocked once Vanessa was out of earshot.
You snort and Lucy looks at you with those eyes, and that’s when you knew you were done for.
“Walk me to the door,” She requested, and your eyes are drawn to her blue raspberry stained lips.
“I was already planning on it,” You shrug nonchalantly, but you can’t help but notice the blush on her cheeks.
You open the door for her once again and let her lead the way to the apartment door.
Once stopped in front of her door, she unlocks it slowly, dreading the moment she had to say goodbye.
Because although she hated family events, being there with you made it more bearable, and she didn’t want to say goodbye just yet.
She opens the door and turns to you, “Do you want to come in?”
You think for a second about what would happen if you said yes, because you’re realizing that maybe you do like her more than a friend, but then you’re accepting the invitation and you’re shutting the door behind you, not a care in the world.

5 times she almost she almost confesses, and the one time she actually does. ( Lucy Chen x firefighter!reader.)
been in the works for a long time.. i apologize
it has been a while but i’ve been struggling (still kinda am) but im trying to work on myself and i have more time to write now!!
1.
The first time she almost says it, it’s mainly as a joke, but she’s cut off by you.
It was only the third or fourth time she’d met you, but she thought you were gorgeous and she would’ve sold her soul to go out with you.
On a random Tuesday, her and Officer Bradford responded to a distress call that happened to involve a house fire. Which was why you and your station were later called.
You’d had run-ins involving Tim Bradford and his rookies in the past, so you weren’t completely struck by this form of ‘teaching,’ but you were still surprised.
When you arrived on the scene Officer Bradford was telling Lucy she should help out since they were the only ones available in the moment, and you all but yelled out for Lucy not to do that.
“Officer.. Bradford!” Bailey shook her head in disapproval. “You should never enter a burning house without the correct equipment.”
“We were busy waiting. For you,” Tim leaned forward angrily, and that was when you entered the house, so you didn’t hear the end of the conversation. But you would bet good money that Bailey won that argument.
You moved through the house along with a few other firefighters, and that was when you found Lucy in the kitchen, all but coughing her lung out.
“Officer Chen,” You took one of her hands and placed the other on her back so you could help her out of the house and off the counter she was leaning on.
She leaned most of her weight on you, because she was weak from smoke inhalation, but you eventually picked her up to get her out.
You sat her on the back of the ambulance, and started checking her out since you had some paramedic training under your belt, and the other paramedics were checking on the more serious injuries.
“You okay?” You immediately put a gas mask over her face so she could breathe.
She tried to remove the mask to speak, but you shook your head and said, “Don’t talk. Just nod yes or no.”
She gave you a nod to let you know she’s okay.
Officer Bradford appeared in front of the two of you, but you shake your head at him.
“Uh-uh,” You pursed your lips and stepped in front of him. “I think you should go elsewhere. After the stunt you just pulled, you ought to be put on probation, but it’s not up to me.”
“I—“ Tim stood there with his mouth open, like you could stand there and talk to him like that.
“So you can take yourself back over there to the rest of your cop buddies, while I clear Officer Chen for duty,” You stood, one hand on the mask and one hand on your hip.
Tim clears his throat, “I’ll wait over there.”
“I thought so,” You nodded and watched him walk back over to the police cars.
Lucy let out an exasperated laugh, “Thank you. I needed that. I may regret it tomorrow, but, he deserves it.” Lucy pauses. “I literally lo—“
“It was no problem, really, I see he’s a bit stuck up. Someone had to put him in his place,” You cut her off, not even realizing she was trying to speak until after. “I’m sorry, what were you saying?”
“Huh?” Lucy thought it would be best if she acted like she wasn’t saying anything. “Oh, nothing.”
“Okay,” You nodded. “You’re okay to go, but take your time. Make sure if you’re out of breath at any time, that you take a second to rest. My orders.”
“You got it,” Lucy stuck her thumb up with a smile.
“Bye, Officer Chen.”
2.
The missile attack took everyone by surprise, even you.
The Los Angeles Fire Department worked to help with damage control and to help maintain traffic on the freeway and along the streets.
It didn’t work very well, but it made you feel better to do that than to just sit around while the world ended.
Angela and Jackson eventually told you to just give it up because nothing was going to help if the world was really going to end in less than an hour.
You fought against her, but she told you and Bailey you should go find Tim and Lucy and find shelter, as they weren’t answering the radios.
Bailey grabbed your arm softly and pulled you away, because she knew about your small but growing crush on the woman, and she knew how worried you were, even if you pushed it down.
Angela told you their last known location, and that’s where you found them, drinking their worries away.
“Officer Chen,” You nodded with a small smile on your face — although it was fake, it was nice of you to try.
“Y/n,” Lucy’s eyes softened at another familiar face.
You look to Tim, and even though you weren’t his biggest fan, you greeted him with a pat on the shoulder. There was no need to keep enemies if you were about to die together.
“What are we drinking?” Bailey asked nervously.
“Tequila and Scotch,” Lucy tried handing the tequila to Bailey, but she shook her head.
“I’m not a tequila girl.. wine, and I can get down with.”
You chuckle lightly as you watch Bailey wander off to find a bottle of red wine, and take the bottle from Lucy. Your hands brushing in the process.
“I think I love you,” Lucy stumbled over her words slightly, and you just let out a breathy laugh.
“That’s very sweet, Officer Chen,” You kept your eyes on her as you took a sip from the bottle.
“The world is gonna end, so I thought I’d tell you,” Lucy shrugged jokingly, but deep down inside (and later in the months) she wasn’t really joking.
When it was all over, you found yourself sort of wishing she’d meant it, but you’ve only seen her a few times, and you barely even knew her favorite color. Not to mention she’d never even asked you on a date.
3.
You were very surprised when Lucy had asked you to be her date to Officer Angela Lopez’s wedding, but you reluctantly agreed to go.
The two of you had swapped numbers after the false missile attack, and she texted you like crazy.
Not that you’d ever complain, because the pictures of puppies and random selfies throughout the day was something you came to look forward to.
It’s months later, though, and you’re glad Lucy asked you out (kind of), finally!
You lived with Bailey, as she was your best friend, and the two of you decided to get ready together since John Nolan had asked her to come along as well.
You wore a lighter blue dress that had just been sitting in the back of your closet for months. It was a spaghetti strap, and it flowed along your body nicely with a slit up your leg.
You bought it for another occasion, but never ended up using it, so you just pushed it in the back, thinking you’d never have another need for it. But Bailey found it and convinced you this was exactly what you needed to wear to impress Lucy.
And she was right.
You’d pay good money to relive Lucy’s reaction to your dress over and over.
She had no shame in looking you up and down, which was good, because you had no shame in doing it to her, either.
The both of you looked away with a small blush on each of your faces from being ogled. That is, until Jackson pushed Lucy towards you.
“I’m going to go check on Angela,” Jackson removes his hand from Lucy’s back, and the two of you nod, but you aren’t really looking at him — more at each other.
“You look.. gorgeous,” You shook your head, amazed.
“You do too,” Lucy scoffed slightly. “If there was a competition, I think you’d win with flying colors.”
“Have you seen yourself?” You continued to ogle her.
You grab her hand softly, and lift your arms above the two of you so you can spin her around, her dress flowing freely with her.
“Oo, you’ve got moves,” Lucy laughed as you spun her back towards you.
“Yes, I do,” You lifted your brows jokingly. “We’ll have to dance together later.”
“Why not now?” Lucy whined. “We could just dance right here, right now. I don’t care who sees. Please?”
“Fine,” A small smile graces your lips. “But only because you asked so nicely.”
You timidly place a hand on Lucy’s back, because this was new territory, and you didn’t want to overstep. And you place your other hand in hers.
The two of you slow dance to a song that doesn’t even match your rhythm, and neither of you care.
Lucy spins you this time with a giggle, and your all but fall into her arms on your way back in. But you’re especially struck when she dips you without warning.
“I have moves?” You question with a huge grin on your face. “Look at you, Miss. Chen!”
She slowly lifts you back up and you are about to kiss her when a bunch of people start crowding around you.
“Lucy,” John is the first to speak, and with a shake to his head, Lucy removes herself from you.
“What?” Lucy’s smile is gone, and she’s given sympathetic looks. “Someone tell me what’s wrong. Now.”
Tim steps forward anxiously and whispers something in her ear, and you only catch parts of it.
Lucy looks like her hearts been ripped out of her chest over and over again, “O— oh. What— who did this?”
You lean forward and grab her in your arms, because all you heard was “Jackson and Lopez,” and “Missing.”
“Lucy,” Grey says in a plain voice, but there’s so much behind it, and Lucy pulls herself together.
“I have to—“
“Of course,” You held onto her hands, pulling her in for a small kiss on the cheek. “Text me if you need anything, okay?”
“Yes,” Lucy nods. “I lov— erally can’t thank you enough.”
You shake your head trying to figure out what she just said, but then Bailey is beside you and the two of you are following closely behind them to exit the venue.
4.
You hadn’t heard much from Lucy in the span of a few weeks, and you were starting to worry.
Especially because Lucy was an over the top texter, and she hadn’t so much as sent one message a day. More like two in a week.
She was coping the loss of her best friend, you knew that, but it didn’t stop you from worrying.
You wanted to bake her some cookies and put together a small basket like she had when you were sick a month or two ago.
Bailey offered to come along, but you told her not to worry. Not because this was something you wanted to do on your own, but because she’d been off and on with Officer John Nolan, and you couldn’t stand to be put in more than one awkward interaction today.
Once the basket was put together (you had to have Bailey help you wrap it up and put the bow on, but that’s beside the point) you left and made your way to the station.
“Is Bailey with you?” John perked up from the front desk upon your arrival, but he was quickly put back down after not seeing her.
“Not this time,” You shrugged apologetically. “I’m looking for Lucy. Is she in?”
He eyes the basket up and down, “She might be in the break room for her lunch.”
“Has she eaten?” You knew it was a long shot asking him, because he’d probably been out there all morning, but it was worth it to try.
“If I guessed, I’d say no,” He shook his head.
You sighed, biting the inside of your cheek, “I’ll just have to force feed her some of these cookies.”
“Sounds good,” John chuckled as you walked through the station, finding Lucy sitting where John said she might be. No food in sight.
“Y/n,” Lucy gives a slight smile, but it doesn’t reach her eyes.
“Hey,” You placed the huge basket on the table and Lucy’s eyes are drawn to it.
“You didn’t..” Lucy frowned slightly. “You really didn’t.. have to.”
Lucy’s lips started to quiver, and you were quick to hug her tightly. You hadn’t seen her since the wedding, and obviously hadn’t spoken much either, so you were walking in blind today. No clue how she was holding up.
“Shh,” You let her cry into your chest, rubbing her back reassuringly. “It’s okay, love. It’s okay.”
Smitty begins to walk in, head hung as he looks at his phone. He looks up with a startled expression, “Oh— uh, Chen..”
“Get out!” Lucy cried into your arms, and you just chuckled at the interaction.
Smitty stood still, unsure what to do, “I think it’s best if you go..” The two of you stood awkwardly, just staring at each other. “Hello? Move.”
He swallowed and nodded his head, shutting the door on his way out.
“I lo—“ Lucy stutters and you just nod your head.
“I know. Shhh, I know,” You place a small kiss on her head. “It’s okay.”
5.
Responding to a quiet call in what looked to be an abandoned house was just what you needed today. Until it wasn’t.
You’d disappeared through a hallway because Bailey said she had the foyer, but she didn’t.
When you came back, she was trapped in what looked to be a trap of some kind — and you could only assume it had to do with Rosalind Dyer.
You and your group quickly called the LAPD, and soon enough, your girlfriend of two months walked in. You’d now known each other for a year and some.
“Y/n,” She hugged you quickly, placing her forehead to yours. “I’m glad you’re okay.”
“Gee, thanks,” Bailey said sarcastically from below.
“I don’t think I could handle it if it were me down there,” You say truthfully. “You’re smart, and you’ll know what to do, Bails.”
“It was designed for me,” Bailey quickly observes the tank.
Your heart drops and breaks in your chest for your best friend, and you’re so scared you feel as though you may have a panic attack.
You feel Lucy shift closer to you, her lingering touches bringing you comfort.
A sympathetic smile sets on her lips, a quirk in her eyebrow to ask if you were okay. You give a nod in response.
Things escalate quickly after that. John disappears, Bailey comes close to death, it’s a whole mess. And you’re struggling to breathe because you can’t lose your best friend tonight. It just couldn’t happen.
As Celina encourages Bailey to stay under the water longer when the explosions happen, you’re standing off to the side, a hand held to your mouth to hold the vomit in.
Lucy stands from her crouch, a gentle hand coming to your back to soothe your anxiety.
The bile lowers, and you attempt to speak, but she beats you to it.
“I l—“
For once you think you understand what she’s trying to say, and the swallow that contracts her throat says it all for her. You knew, and you reciprocated, but now wasn’t the time. There was too much going on all at once and you couldn’t accept the words here— not like this.
A slight nod from you and Lucy’s eyes changed.
“She’s going to be okay,” It was an empty promise, both of you knew, but she was trying to convince the both of you. “Come here.”
She wraps you in her arms and for once you feel safe.
+1
When she actually says I love you, you were in the hospital.
It was a fire rescue gone wrong, and you were in critical condition.
When Lucy got word she dropped everything and hurried to the hospital. Not even caring about Tim’s insistence on letting him drive her.
She broke twenty different laws on the way there, but the only thing she was worried about was getting to you.
A small smile formed on your lips when you heard her shouts — actual shouts — at the nurse to let her see you. You even think she flashed her badge, and if you weren’t in so much pain you’d laugh.
She does finally appear at your door, her pleads finally working, and you’re more than happy to see her.
She timidly sits on your bedside, afraid she’s going to hurt you from three feet away.
“Lucy..” You try to talk, but it pains you to even do that, and Lucy can tell.
“Don’t talk,” She reaches her hand out but draws it back at the last second because the last thing she wasn’t to do is make you uncomfortable. “Let me speak.”
You scrunch your eyebrows together in concern, because what did she have to say?
“I’m sorry.”
“This isn’t—“
“What did I say?” Lucy attempts to be stern, but it just makes you smile. “I’m sorry this happened to you.”
Your lips wobble and she hates to see you like this.
“Bailey told me you had been rushed to the hospital. I’m so glad she did because I love you and I absolutely cannot lose you—“
Her eyes widen when she realizes what she’s said, her hand shooting to her mouth in shock.
“I.. I—“
“Lu—“
“Should I go? I should probably go, right?” Lucy nods nervously. “Or— just forget I said anything at all.”
“Lucy, I love you too.”
Your words catch her off guard, and suddenly the frown on her face is turned into a wide smile.
“You do?” She breathless.
“Of course I do. How couldn’t I?”

addison fic including “can you please come and get me?”
reader says it on the phone to addison
angsty and addison calming reader down
come get me
You blow out an anxious breath as you walk along the road. You didn’t expect your night to go like this, and you’d rather be anywhere but there.
A night with your parents was not what you needed this week, but you had this dinner planned weeks in advance, and you were busy for weeks after, so it had to be tonight.
You rub your hands up and down your arms to warm yourself, but it doesn’t do much.
Now that you’re looking back, it wasn’t such a good idea to run out of the house without your jacket, huh?
There was also the fact that your phone was nearing ten percent, so you had to call someone who you knew would come.
Addison.
The two of you weren’t dating, but you also weren’t just friends. You weren’t seeing anyone else, and you knew it was the same for her, too.
Blowing a huff of cold air out, you pull your phone out to dial her number. She picks up right away with a, “Y/n..?”
“Hey, Addison,” Your voice was hoarse from crying as you walked down the road. "Can you please come get me?"
“What’s wrong?” Addison asks through the phone, but you can hear her reach for her keys and tell Bailey that she had to go. “Y/n? Talk to me.”
“The usual,” You shrug even though she can’t see you. With a sad chuckle you say, “They always have something to say.”
“It’s okay, I’m coming,” Addison assures you. “Can you tell me where you are?”
“I don’t know.. I’m near the seven-eleven by my parent’s house,” I shiver. “Please hurry, I’m freezing.”
“You didn’t take a jacket?” Addison was always on you about remembering jackets and gloves when needed.
“I’m sorry. I had to get out of there,” You begin to tear up some more. “You know how they talk.”
“Okay, it’s okay,” Addison’s heart breaks in her chest from the sound of your voice and the sounds of your cries over the phone. “I’ll be there in a few minutes, you’ll be okay.”
You place a hand on your hip and look up at the sky to stop your tears.
“I see you,” She says, snapping you out of your trance in the sky.
You hang the phone up once she parks beside you and next thing you know she’s right in front of you.
“Are you okay?” She asks sweetly, her hair pushed behind her ears.
You press your lips together to stop more tears from falling. “No.” Your voice breaks, and Addison’s heart breaks all over again.
“Come here,” Addison motions you forward, and you fall into her arms.
She puts one hand on the back of your neck to keep your head nestled in the crook of her neck and she has another hand on your back, which rubs up and down soothingly.
Her chin rests on the top of your head, and she leans down to place a kiss on your hair.
You cry into her neck, and she lets you. She lets you get all of your emotion out in the gas station parking lot, not even caring about the questioning looks the two of you are getting.
“Come on, you’re okay,” You rubs her hand on your back while the other scratches the bottom of your neck.
“I’m never going back,” You pull away from her hold and she looks over your face.
She wipes at your fallen tears with the back of her hand softly, “You don’t have to. It’s okay.”
“I’m freezing,” You shake in the cold air, nothing on but the thin t-shirt you had on under your jacket earlier.
“Here,” Addison shrugs off her jacket for you since she had a long sleeved blouse on underneath, as she dressed up more nicely.
“No, you don’t have to,” You push the jacket away, but Addison places it over your shoulders.
“Come on, take it. You’re freezing,” She puts it on yours shoulders with a raised brow.
You knew better than to tell her ‘no’ more than once, so you just let her place the warm jacket on you.
“Thank you,” You nod and hold the jacket around yourself.
“Come on, let’s get in the car, okay?” Addison tilts her head, looking down at you. “We can go get food. Go do something. Have you eaten?”
“Yeah.”
“Okay. We can go back to my apartment. How does that sound?” She puts her hand on your back and leads you to the passenger side.
She pulls the car door open so you can get in and shuts it after you’re in the seat. Once she gets in the car herself, she starts it and pulls out of the parking lot.
“You wanna watch a movie?” Addison looks over at you, her eyes soft.
Her eyes were always much softer when you were crying, and you always found her so cute when she took care of you.
“Sure,” You give an attempt at a smile, but your parent’s words just run through your head.
“Hey,” Addison tries to get you out of your thoughts. “Don’t listen to what they have to say, okay? They don’t know you like I do. I can confidently say that you’re beautiful, and worth it. You got that?”
You swallow sadly, not believing what she said.
Addison grabs your chin between her pointer finger and thumb and made you look over at her, “You got that, darling?”
“Got it,” You let a small laugh out as your cheeks heat from her touching you.
“Good,” Addison smiles.
She pulls the car into the parking lot of her apartment complex, and gets out to open the door for you.
She lets you walk in front of her into the building and she holds her door open after she unlocks it.
“I have popcorn,” Addison offers once she shuts the door. “I could make some while you chose a movie.”
“Or we could watch our show?” You ask, your face slightly lighting up.
Addison was tired, and she knew she would probably fall asleep while you watched a few episodes, but it was worth it if it made you excited.
“Sounds perfect,” Addison smiles and makes her way to the kitchen while you turn her television on.
And plus, she could just get you to tell her what she missed. Listening to your voice was always a plus.
It’s a win-win.

okay i’m back to writing now 💗💗
idiots
“I’m over it,” Nyla complains to you and Angela in the break room one day.
Your eyebrows furrow at your two best friends when Angela starts nodding along with Nyla.
“What?” You frown. “Did something happen?”
“We’re over you,” Angela purses her lips. “You and your little girl crush.”
“We wish you’d just tell her already,” Nyla stirs her coffee. “You know she likes you back. So why don’t you just ask her out?”
You huff, “I really like her, and I don’t want to mess things up. And—“
“We aren’t a hundred percent sure she likes you,” Angela and Nyla roll their eyes as they mock your words in unison.
“Yeah,” You nod.
“You could always just.. ask her,” Angela says sassily, hiding her face behind her coffee cup.
You glare at both of them, “That’s scary. What if she doesn’t want me like that? I mean— then when we rode together it would be so awkward..”
“I’m sure she has at least a small crush on you.”
“How can you be so sure?” You’re bouncing on your toes. “Would you guys ask her for me? Please? Pleaseeeeee?”
“You’re more than capable,” Nyla says, squinting at you.
“So you guys don’t love me?” You cross your arms jokingly.
“Yep, that’s exactly it,” Angela nods sarcastically. “That’s just why I took you out and bought you at least ten books for your birthday last week.”
“And that’s why I took us all out to dinner for your birthday,” Nyla tilted her head.
“Hey guys—“ Lucy stumbles into the room, and your head is immediately turning towards her.
“Hey Luce,” You beam, a wide smile on your face, along with an indescribable light in your eyes that not even Nyla or Angela could explain.
But Lucy’s expression doesn’t match yours — not in the slightest bit. Her cheeks are flushed and she looks she just witnessed someone running over a cat and not stopping to check on it.
Lucy’s body slouches the slightest bit, and her eyes flutter sadly as she says, “Roll Call.”
“You okay, Lucy?” Your eyes soften as you reach for her, but she takes a step backwards.
“I’m not feeling too well,” The lie came out easily, like it wasn’t hard at all and she didn’t need a second thought.
“Oh, well—“
“I’ll see you,” Lucy looks away from you with a sad look, walking backwards and almost running into the door frame on her way out.
You turn back to the detectives with a frown on your face.
“What?”
Angela and Nyla share a look, shake their heads, and walk around you to make it towards the roll call room.
“Hey!” You lean against the counter as Lucy signs out for a war bag. “Who you with today?”
“No one,” Lucy shrugs nonchalantly, signing the last few letters of her name sloppily so she can get out of there. She slams the pen down extra hard and hurries towards the garage.
“Me either,” You follow her into the room, and wait as she opens the trunk and loads her bag. “Wanna ride with me?”
“Well.. I’m ready to go. So, if you want to ride with me you better get a bag fast,” Lucy says as she slams the trunk shut and sits in the driver seat, still not meeting your eyes.
Something in you said she was upset with you, especially after your encounter with her and the two detectives a few days earlier, but you didn’t want her riding alone. And you didn’t really like riding alone, either. You frown, but go and get a bag for yourself, nonetheless.
You load the bag and shotgun into the trunk and hurry over to the passenger seat to ride with Lucy.
“Hey..” You put your seatbelt on quickly before Lucy pulls out of the garage. “You okay?”
“Why wouldn’t I be?” Lucy just barely meets your eyes as she puts her hand on the back of your seat, turning to pull out of the garage.
“I don’t know.. I just—“
“I’m good,” Lucy shrugs again — something she only does a lot when she’s upset — but you don’t press any more. “Let’s just work.”
You open your mouth to speak again, because normally Lucy enjoys talking or sitting in a comfortable silence, but today she just turns the radio on to drown out the unusual and uncomfortable silence.
“There’s a fight breaking out at a gas station near Chen and L/n—“ A voice comes over the radio, but you’re too distracted to decipher who it is.
“Show us responding,” Lucy grabs at the radio quickly, desperately trying to get out of this awkward situation with you.
As Lucy pulls up to the scene, you say, “You get one, I get one?”
Lucy doesn’t answer, she just gets out of the car and starts detaining one of the men.
You go for the one on the ground, as you thinking Lucy might need to take her anger out a little, so you give her the more aggressive one.
As you’re cuffing your guy, Lucy’s guy elbows her in the face when she tries cuffing him.
You push your guy against the shop, not even caring if he gets away or not, and you hurry over towards Lucy who is holding her face in one hand and the cuff in the other.
“Are you okay?” You force her hand away from her face, checking the forming bruise.
She leans into your touch for only a second, but then you see a flash of some sort of recognition in her eyes, and she’s pulling away from you.
“I’m fine,” Lucy pushes you away, and finishes cuffing her guy. “Let’s take these guys back to the station.”
“Um.. okay,” You nod and awkwardly follow behind her.
“Maybe try talking to her?” Angela shrugs as you, her, and Nyla all grab lunch from your favorite burrito truck.
“I’ve tried. What do you think I’ve been doing for weeks?” You threw your hands up in a frustrated voice.
“She seems fine when I’m around her,” Nyla throws out there. “What? I’m just saying.. maybe it’s you?”
“That’s not funny!” You try to playfully hit Nyla, but she moves at the last second.
“I’m not laughing,” Nyla shook her head, a small smile on her face as she takes a bite out of her burrito.
“It’s annoying,” You put your head back as you wrap your arms around yourself.
“We know,” Angela says, being the reassuring and helpful friend while Nyla was being the annoying and joyous one. “But I’m just saying, maybe try and have an honest conversation.”
“I mean.. I could try. She might be going through something at home,” You bite on your nail anxiously, not sure if you’re trying to tell yourself that or them.
“Mhm,” Nyla agrees, mouth full. “Totally.”
“Okay, you’re not helping,” Angela rolls her eyes, pushing Nyla in the direction of your regular table. “Go sit.”
“Whatever,” Nyla rolls her eyes and goes to sit at your table.
“Do you really think it’s me?” You look up at her with a sad expression — eyebrows furrowed, eyes full of sadness. “I mean— what have I done to make her angry with me?”
“Nothing. I don’t think it’s you, sweetie,” Angela puts her arm around you until her food comes. “I just think.. maybe something is going on at home, you know how her parents are.”
“Yeah..” You nod, staring down at the gravel.
“Why don’t you try eating with her?” Angela nods over to where she’s sitting alone, enjoying her veggie burger and fries.
“Okay,” You nod and grab your food, which came out just now.
You take your burrito and water over to the smaller table Lucy sat at, and sat across from her, not asking if you could sit before doing so.
“Veggie burger?” You ask even though you know her order by heart.
“Yep,” Lucy says before taking another bite of her lunch. “You?”
“Burrito,” You hold it up before taking a bite yourself, seeing as that’s the only way to keep things from being awkward.
“Hm,” She hums, taking her time to chew.
“How are you?” You ask after swallowing your bite of food.
“Good,” She shrugs. “Nothing new since you asked me two days ago.”
You swallow back the lump forming in your throat.
Lucy had never been this dry and she’s never not talked to you for this many days in a row.
“Are you mad at me?” You frown at her as she obviously tries to finish her food faster than she ever had before. “Slow down there, don’t choke..”
“I’m not mad,” Lucy shakes her head and stands to dispose of her trash. “I’ll see you later.”
“Oh— okay,” You slouch in your chair, still trying to figure out what you did to make her so distant towards you.
After a few more days of walking on eggshells around Lucy, you’ve had enough and came up with a plan to corner Lucy.
You’d just try and corner her somewhere around the station and try and coax it out of her.
And your plan was going to work because you made sure to inform Nyla and Angela of this plan so they could watch out for her.
They inform you that she just came through to process a criminal, just as you were in to talk to Grey about an upcoming leave you had to take for a family event.
She’s passing the break room as you’re coming towards her, and you take this as the perfect opportunity to push her into the break room to talk with her.
“Hey, Y/n— Hey!” Lucy tumbles back a little as you push her into the room and shut the door for privacy. “What’s your issue?”
“No, what is your issue?” You ask, crossing your arms over your chest.
“I don’t have an issue,” Lucy shakes her head, her demeanor changing from angry to calm.
“Please just stop lying to me,” You take a step forward, and Lucy tries to take a step back, but her butt is met with the table.
“I’m not,” Lucy’s eyebrows furrow as she lies straight to your face.
“You are,” You’re voice breaks just the slightest bit. “You won’t talk to me, you won’t ride with me, you won’t eat lunch with me.. god, you can’t even look me in the eye.”
Lucy’s breath shudders as she tries to look anywhere but at you.
“Luce,” The hurt in your eyes is evident. “Look at me.”
Lucy manages to look up at you, and hurt flashes through her own eyes. She bites on her cheek to either keep herself from crying or from talking, you aren’t sure which.
“What’s wrong Lucy?” You take a few steps closer to her, and you place a friendly hand on her shoulder. “Let me help you.”
“You can’t,” Lucy’s eyes flutter sadly, and you see that she’s about to cry.
You lift your hand up to wipe a tear from her face, but she flinches away from your touch.
“Why can’t I touch you?” You ask. “You let me touch you before— what did I do?”
“You didn’t do anything,” Lucy’s tears fall faster as she gets more upset over what she overheard a few weeks earlier. “I’m just giving you space.”
“Why?” You bite out.
“Because.. you like someone,” Lucy says sadly, and that’s when it hit you. “And that someone isn’t me.”
“Lucy—“
“I heard you,” Lucy bites her lip to stop her tears, but it doesn’t work. “When you were talking to Harper and Lopez about your.. crush. And it hurt to listen to that knowing..”
“Knowing what?”
“Let me talk, please. Just let me finish,” Lucy holds a hand out between the two of you. After a pause she continues, “It hurt listening to that conversation when I’ve had feelings for you since we were rookies, and that you didn’t reciprocate them like I thought you did. So I am stepping back for whoever this mystery girl is. She must be pretty great if you’re after her.”
Your head shakes sadly and your lips turn down in a frown.
“Lucy..”
“You didn’t know?” Lucy finished for you. “I know. And I didn’t plan on telling you, but if this was what it takes for you to understand, so be it.”
“You really didn’t know?” Your question causes Lucy to tilt her head in confusion. “You’re my crush, Lucy.”
“What?”
“I like you,” You point your finger to her chest. “I literally have your long Starbucks coffee order memorized, I know what you like from every fast food place so I can bring you something to surprise you. I know your favorite movies, songs— does that scream just friends to you?”
“I mean.. no. No, I didn’t think so, but when I heard you I thought..”
“You thought wrong, Luce,” You cup her cheek, removing a stray tear with the pad of your thumb.
“Good,” Lucy breathes out and pulls your face to hers by your collar. “So, so good.”
“For the record, I’ve liked you since we were rookies, too,” You pull away to tell Lucy, and she chuckles, pulling you back in.
“We’re such idiots..”
“Yes, yes we are,” You laugh.

✩‧₊˚ nyla harper + “this is a one-time thing.”
ೃ⁀➷ nsfw content, mdni; afab!reader, semi-public sex, fingering, teasing, implications of a hidden relationship/infidelity, semi-rough sex

The rattle of the locker door echos out into the otherwise empty locker room as your back collides with it, only to fall on deaf ears as both you and Nyla are too busy focusing on one another to care. Her lips move against yours with a lustful urgency while her hands go to your waist, grasping at your hips to pull you against her before they slip around to your front so she can start undoing your button and zipper.
Your nails bite into the toned flesh of her shoulders as she tugs your pants down your legs, baring you to the cool air of the room. Once they’re pulled down your thighs, your underwear is soon to follow and she all but smiles against your lips as she feels your face grow hot under how exposed you’ve become.
It wouldn’t be the first time she’s so openly revelled in your embarrassment, but this time she must have bigger things on her mind as her enjoyment is short lived. She nips at your slackened bottom lip as she jams one of her knees between your legs, giving you no choice but to keep them spread for her as one of her hands lands on your inner thigh and starts to slowly trail upwards to where you need her most.
Shivers shoot through your body under the anticipation, and Nyla coos softly as her fingertips drawl slowly up your sensitive skin. When she reaches your slit, she pauses as the wetness that's gathered there starts to collect on her fingertips and only then after your hushed pleading does she finally take pity on you and start to ease her fingers into your throbbing heat. A moan breaks from your throat and after a sharp look from Nyla, you bite down hard on your lip to stop yourself from making any more noise as she starts to fuck you on her hand.
“You know this is a one time thing, yeah?” She murmurs against the shell of your ear, providing a stark contrast to the way her fingers pump in and out of your wet cunt with a practised fervour. It's followed up with a soft kiss to your cheek, where she lets her lips linger against your skin in an odd show of tenderness that tinges her next words with a soft note of sadness. “This can’t happen again, baby.”
At the same time, her thumb rolls harshly over your clit and effectively stops you from responding. You're pretty sure that's by design, and you're almost thankful for it - but with the pleasure flushing through you, your tongue is loosened to the point where you're speaking before you have the chance to stop yourself.
“Yeah, yeah.” You agree in a breathy voice, chest jutting out with a newfound sense of courage while Nyla looks at you with an inquisitive expression. “Pretty sure that’s what you said last time, too.”
If looks could kill, the way Nyla's face hardens would be the final nail in your proverbial coffin. A bolt of guilt hits you deep in the chest, but before you have a chance to act on it Nyla's withdrawing her hand from your cunt to place and grabbing your waist with an iron grip - only to spin you around, and pin you roughly to the locker door. She forces you to push your ass out so she can settle behind you, and slips her hand between your spread legs so she can make do on her promise to make you regret those words.

Addie x reader !
Addie meets readers parents for the first time and it doesn’t go well, Addie comforts reader after
if you’re lactose intolerant i’m sorry
ice cream
“You don’t have to come in,” You bit your lip nervously as you look out the passenger side window.
“I came with you,” Addison places her hand on your knee. “I’m coming in. I wouldn’t rather be doing this with anyone else.”
“Okay,” You smile softly, leaning in for a short kiss.
“Come on,” Addison pinches your chin between her thumb and side of her pointer finger as you lean in for another kiss.
“Just one more,” You beg.
Addison chuckles with a shake of her head, but reluctantly leans in for another.
“Okay. Now I’m ready,” You swipe your thumb under her lip to remove the smeared lipstick. “As ready as I’ll ever be.”
Addison comes around the car to open your door, because that’s just the kind of person she is. It’s part of the reason you fell for her in the first place - how kind and thoughtful of a person she was.
She holds her hand out for you to take, and she helps pull you out of the car.
Wrapping your arm around her waist, you timidly walk towards the entrance to your childhood home. You were nervous because your parents never really excepted your orientation, nor would they be proud of the gaping age gap between you and Addison. But you didn’t care - not really, anyhow - about what they had to say as long as you were happy.
And Addison made you happy. More than.
You lift your fist to knock on the door, and hesitate for a moment before rapping your fist against the door.
You remove your hand from Addison’s waist as the door swings open.
“Y/n,” Your mom, Ellen, says. She can’t even hold eye contact with you.
You clear your throat, trying to stop a lump from forming. The last thing you needed was to meltdown in front of your parents.
“Come in, your father is sitting at the table,” She makes a face at Addison, and you let her walk in first. Your hand still in hers as your mother shuts the door behind you.
The food is on the table when you make it towards the dining room, along with your father.
“Hey dad,” You lean down to hug him, and his hand pats your back in a hello.
Your parents sit on one side of the table, while you and Addison sit on the other. Addison’s hand lands on your thigh when your leg starts bouncing nervously.
A soft smile takes over your lips in a silent thank you, and you place your non-dominant hand on top of hers.
“I’m Richard,” Your father nods, not looking Addison in the eye at all as he moves food around his plate.
“Are you here to eat, or what?” Your mom gives you a look and you sit uncomfortably in your seat.
“Yes,” You inhale sharply, you and Addison both plating up some food out of the pans placed on the table.
You take a bite of the potatoes, and fight the urge to moan aloud at the taste.
Your foot begins to shake under the table at the awkward silence. You draw your bottom lip between your teeth nervously.
“Are you going to introduce us to your.. friend?” Your dad spits out.
“This is Addison,” You don’t look up from your plate.
“And what does Allison do?” Your mother asks, purposefully saying Addison’s name incorrectly as she did in the past.
“I’m a fetal and neonatal surgeon at the same hospital as Y/n - Seattle Grace,” Addison speaks for herself. “That’s actually how we met.”
Your mother hums, obviously as uninterested as she could get.
“Yeah..” Your smile at her. “I’m interested in peds and fetal, as you know. And Addison is teaching me.”
“That’s right,” Addison smiles politely at both of your parents, patting her hand on yours.
All of the sudden, your father drops his silverware onto the plate, “I can’t do this. I’m sorry, sweetheart. I really tried, but.. I don’t accept this.”
“Dad—“ Your lips turn to a frown. “You haven’t even tried.”
“I have!”
“We’ve been here a few minutes,” The lump begins to form, faster and faster. “You’ve only met her once. You—“
“It’s okay,” Addison squeezes your thigh reassuringly, rubbing small circles on your inner thigh with her thumb. “They don’t have to like me.”
“No—“ You can’t hold the tears back. “Mom, please!”
“I’m sorry,” Your mom continues looking down. “He’s right. I think it’s best if Allison goes. You can stay, but she has to leave.”
You lean back in your chair, as if you were struck by lightning. Your chest felt heavy and you couldn’t breathe anymore. Your eyebrows furrow, and all your eyes hold is betrayal.
“How could you say something like that?” Tears silently fall down, your voice cracking.
Addison stays quiet, and you’re partly glad for that, because you didn’t need her making matters worse. But it also would’ve been nice if she tried standing up for you.
“We’ll be going,” Addison stands, putting her hand on your shoulder to snap you out of the betrayed trance you have set on your parents.
“Take a piece of pie,” Your father watches as you stand.
“Shove the pie up your—“
“Okay,” Addison shoves you towards the door. “Let’s go, darling. We don’t need to make this worse than it already is.”
“They— how—“
“I know,” Addison kisses your temple before turning towards your parents. “Thank you for having us. And it’s Addison. You have a wonderful daughter, and you shouldn’t throw that away because you can’t get over your beliefs.”
You smile sadly as your girlfriend tries to fight for you, even though it won’t work.
“Have a good night, now.”
You keep your head turned away from Addison because you don’t want her to see you so distraught. You’ve cried in front of her before, sure. But never quite in this capacity, or for this long of a period.
Addison starts the car, silently driving you towards your - the residents - shared house, you hope. All you want right now is to indulge in some ice cream, a movie, and to cry into your pillow.
You close your eyes, resting your head against the window.
“We’re here,” Addison says excitedly. Too excitedly for you to be at the house.
You open your eyes, and your lips come together in a small smile.
She knew.
She knew you were sad and that the only thing that helps you is ice cream.
“It’s a nice gesture,” You make no attempt to remove your seatbelt. “But I’m not exactly public ready. And I don’t even have any money.”
Addison chuckles at that.
“I’ll get you something. What do you want?” She begins to unbuckle her seatbelt.
“You don’t have to,” You shook your head, giving a fake smile. “I’m fine. Just take me home.”
“Look at me,” You could feel Addison’s gaze on your face, but you didn’t want to look at her, afraid you’d start crying again. She softly turns your head towards her. “I’m not taking you home.”
You lift your brow.
“You just had a terrible night,” Addison tilts her head, looking at you with nothing but love in her stare. “I’m getting you ice cream, maybe some food if you’re still hungry, and then we’re going to go back to my place. Where we will watch all your favorite movies and I will let you cry into my chest while I rub your back. So either tell me what you want, or I’ll order for you.”
“Order for me,” You lean into her touch.
“Okay,” Addison gives you a peck on the lips. “By the way, I’m not afraid of a little tears. I’m here for you through whatever.”
As the door shuts, you say to yourself, “I think I love you.”
She comes back with your favorite flavor, and you don’t even question how she knows that, because of course she knows, along with a burger for you and one for herself.
Addison spends the rest of the night cuddling you and rubbing your back, and she doesn’t even complain when you request to watch your favorite movie not once, not twice, but three times.
And Addison seemed to get through to your parents, because you wake up with messages from both your mother and your father.

Addie x reader where Addie knows reader has a crush on her and flirts with reader to mess with her
this is short too. i’m sorry!! i’ve been sick for a few days and im just starting to recover.
a choice with me
“Hello darling,” Addison slides behind you, her body pressing against yours. “How are you this morning?”
“Fine,” You blush, turning your head away as Addison leans against the nurses station beside you. “I’m not on your service today.”
“I know,” Addison tilts her head, placing a hand on your arm to get you to face her again. “I’ll miss you.”
“You will?” You roll your eyes sassily.
“Don’t roll your eyes at me,” Addison runs her finger across your jaw seductively.
“Y— you’re not the boss of me today,” You stutter nervously.
“No, but I will be in two days.”
You scoff, “Yeah, whatever.”
All you want to do in Addison’s presence is cry, scream, and smash your lips against hers. It’s unprofessional, you know that, but it’s the truth.
There was just something about Addison that you couldn’t comprehend. She made you feel good and seen, but also made you flustered. She was one of the only people you could trust.
She knew things about you not even your own friends or family knew. And she hadn’t told a soul.
“What are you thinking?” Addison’s face turns serious.
“Nothing,” You frown. “I should go before Burke has my head.”
You walk away, leaving Addison standing by the station on her own.
She struts up beside you, and you aren’t even surprised at how fast she catches up to you, considering her height. One of the many things that makes you feel what you feel for her.
“Talk to me,” Addison insists.
“Nothing is wrong,” You shake your head, chuckling slightly.
Addison pulls you to the side, “You swear?”
“I swear,” You nod.
Addison runs her knuckles across your cheek, and your cheeks redden again.
“Come get a drink with me tonight,” Addison gives a breathtaking smirk. “That’s not a request.”
“Yes, Dr. Montgomery,” You look down nervously, but she lifts your chin back to her.
“Good girl,” Addison lifts her brows suggestively, leaving you a blubbering mess in the middle of the hallway.
The door rings with your entrance to Joe’s Bar, and Addison’s eyes are drawn to your body in an instant.
You weren’t wearing anything special— it was the same thing you arrived in this morning— a simple sweater and some leggings.
“I’m here,” Your hands find your hips with attitude. “My presence was demanded.”
Addison squints at you, taking a sip of her drink, and you’d be lying if you said your eyes didn’t watch her throat contract as she drank the bitter liquid.
“You actually came,” Addison places the glass on the bar.
“I wasn’t aware it was a choice,” You tilt your head.
“You always have a choice with me,” Addison’s eyes move down to your lips, but back up to your eyes.
You had a feeling that her words had more than one meaning.
You let out a breath that sounds like a laugh and a scoff, “Good.”
Addison keeps her eyes on yours, internally fighting herself from looking at your lips again, afraid she’ll give in to you if she does.
You swallow nervously, “Addie..”
“What?” Addison’s eyes continuously dart between your eyes and your plump lips.
“Stop playing,” Your eyes look hurt. “You know how I feel for you.”
Addison runs her thumb over your bottom lip, “And I feel the same for you. I’ve just been trying to deny it because you are an intern, and I’m an attending.. but there’s no more denying it. I want you, too.”
A small smile tugs at your lips, “Really?”
“Really,” Addison confirms and leans in to place a small kiss on your lips. “I don’t care about age or anything like that anymore. I only care about you.”
You look down, a blush taking over.
“You’re adorable,” Addison places another small kiss on your cheek and leans back. “Now, let me take you to get some food.”
“Okay,” You bounce on your toes as you slide off the stool, Addison’s arm making its way round your waist.

5 times Maya Bishop tries to confess she's in love with you, and the one time she actually does please?
mayaaaaa my love
the only one
1.
“Hey,” Maya smiles at you sweetly. “What are you doing right now?”
The two of you were the only ones in the station right now because everyone had been called onto a call, so you were doing your chores while Maya was on desk duty.
“Just finished cleaning the table,” You look towards the dining room table, as you slowly move towards the kitchen to clean the counters off. “I’m about to start on the kitchen. What do you need?”
“Do you want to play on the pole?” Maya lifts her brows excitedly. “Come on, It’ll be fun.”
“I’m—“
“Come on!” Maya leans towards you with pleading eyes.
You sigh, giving in to her eyes. “Fine. Only for a few minutes.”
You place the sponge on the kitchen island, and then your hand is in Maya’s. You’re being pulled down the hall until you’re on the overlook above the barn, standing on the platform above the pole.
“Ready?” Maya places her hands on the pole and looks back at you before jumping.
“You know if Andy sees us, she’s gonna kill us!” You yell down to the ground. “And you know I’m afraid of heights.”
“Then why are you a firefighter?” Maya places her hands on her hips, looking up at you from the ground.
“I don’t know,” You shrug.
“I’ll catch you if you fall, I promise,” Maya moves a little closer to the pole. “Come on, you’ve done this before.”
“Okay. Here I come.”
You slide down the pole, thankful you’re wearing pants, but you’d definitely have a burn on your thighs after that.
When you land, Maya has her hands on your hips to stabilize you.
“See? I got you,” Maya skims your face.
“Yes you do,” You laugh.
“Hey. Can I tell you something?”
“Sure!” You nod, opening your mouth to
speak again, you’re cut off by the sound of a horn.
The two of you look out the garage door and see the firetrucks pulling into the garage.
“We’ll talk later. Andy said that they were stopping at the kitchen after, so I better go finish cleaning the counters.”
“Okay. Yeah,” Maya nods disappointedly.
2.
You went out with the team after a particularly hard shift. Most of your calls were surrounded by children, and everyone knew it hurt you on a personal level.
The group and you had a specific table they always went to, because it would fit all of you, so that’s where they went tonight as well.
As you’re getting settled in, everyone decides what they want to drink (mostly beers) and so Maya offers to get the first round.
“Y/n, wanna help me carry them back?” She asks as she removes her coat.
“Sure,” You clear your throat, standing to walk over to her.
Maya places a hand on the small of your back, and you’d be lying if you said it didn’t make you feel so much more better. If you asked her why she did it, she would’ve said there were too many men in the bar.
“You okay?” Maya frowns as she leads the two of you to the bar.
You shrug while Maya orders the beers.
“I’m okay. You know how I am about the kids. And.. the Crisis One calls don’t help me any.”
“I know,” Mayas face held a soft expression, and you loved her for it.
“I hate it on there,” You lean against the bar. “Andy must hate me, because it feels like I’m on Crisis One everyday.”
“You know that’s not true,” She tilts her head sadly. “But we can talk to her about taking you off the Crisis One schedule for a few weeks.”
“Thank you,” You chuckle slightly, leaning your forehead on her shoulder. “I really mean it. You’re the sweetest.”
“Of course,” She smiles. “Hey, could we maybe talk about something?”
“Yeah,” You lift your head. “We can talk soon though, because our beers are here, and it might be better if we talk in a quieter setting.”
Maya nods, grabs a few beers, and walks back to the table with you.
3.
You pull your shirt over your head, in no big rush to get back to your apartment and your lone dog.
Most nights it was lonely, and no one offered to go out anywhere, so you were in no hurry to get home. You’d probably get dinner or something on the way home, then pass out on the couch.
“Where are you going after this?” Maya asked, her back turned to you as she removed her shirt.
“Home,” You laugh, removing your pants. “Back to the dog and my lonely apartment.”
“Wanna grab a bite to eat?” Maya turns her head, trying her best to keep her eyes on the side of your face and not your legs.
“Yes!” You turn excitedly, seeing Maya was already staring at you. “I’m sorry.. it’s just that I was really hoping someone would say that because I do not want to go home right now.”
“Perfect,” Maya lifts her chin. “There’s a small cafe I’ve been wanting to try. It’s halfway between our apartments, so it won’t cause us any grief.”
“Good,” You nod, now trying to finish changing faster than before. “I really just want a good cup of coffee and some greasy food.”
Maya zips her jeans, “Mm yes. A burger and fries sounds so good right now.”
You turn to face to Maya, now fully changed. “Tell me about it.”
Maya laughs humorously, “I love you.”
“I love you too,” You grab your bag, moving to exit the room. “I’ll wait for you out here.”
Maya presses her lips together, her mood suddenly changing.
“Not the way I love you,” Maya says under her breath, slamming her locker door closed.
4.
“I am so hungry,” You groan as you rush into the kitchen.
“Oh?” Victoria lifts her brows. “What are you hungry for? I can get Travis in here to make us something.”
“I kind of want..” Maya trails off, catching your gaze from across the room.
“Spaghetti,” You and Maya say at the same time.
“Oo yes,” Victoria claps her hands together. “I will tell him right away. Because if I try to make it, we might be putting a fire out here.”
You chuckle, “Oh yeah, same.”
“Be right back,” Victoria runs down the hall excitedly.
“You know how to clear a room,” Maya jokes from the table.
You roll your eyes, coming to sit across from Maya.
“I haven’t seen you all day,” You rest your arms on the wood table.
“Well, you are on Aid Car today,” Maya says.
“Yeah..” You nod. “But at least it’s with someone I like.”
“Yeah. What’s not to like about Jack?”
“A lot,” You joke. “No I’m just kidding. He’s been a perfect gentleman.”
“That’s good,” Maya lets out a breathy laugh. “Hey so.. there’s something I’ve been meaning to tell you.”
“I’m all ears,” You lean forward.
“I have—“
“Here we come!” Victoria yells, dragging Travis behind her.
“Hold on,” Travis gasps, leaning over in hopes that he can get some air into his lungs. “Why am I here? Victoria was talking too fast.”
“You need to make us spaghetti,” Maya explains.
You look towards her and see her upset face, and make a note to ask her about it later.
5.
Somehow you got roped into helping with another training seminar. Every time either Andy or Victoria somehow got you signed up to help for the class.
This time it was a self defense class, which you had to admit wasn’t the worst of them, but you still didn’t like going to them, let alone teaching them.
You were praying you had someone who knew what they were doing to help teach with you, and apparently someone was on your side today, because Maya was preparing for the class when you got there.
“I must be late,” Your eyebrows drew together awkwardly.
“It’s okay. We were just starting,” Maya shrugs. “I’m Maya Bishop, and this is Y/n L/n. We’re going to teach you some basic self defense today.”
You nod along with everything Maya says, and suddenly you’re being flipped to the ground.
“Oo,” You groan in pain, ignoring the giggles from the teenagers.
“You should be paying attention,” Maya narrows her eyes down at you, offering a hand for you to take so you can lift yourself.
“I know. I didn’t get much sleep last night.”
“Let’s get them set up on an exercise and we can talk. Okay?”
“Sounds good,” You dust your butt off.
You and Maya instruct them on what to do, and she pulls you off to the side so the two of you can talk.
“What’s been bothering you?” She takes a sip of water from the bottle she has sitting off on the table.
“I don’t know,” You lie.
But you did know. You’ve had oncoming feelings for Maya, and they were there now, more than ever. You wanted to tell her, but you were terrified she wouldn’t reciprocate them.
“The dog’s kind of sick,” You look to the ground. “She’s been throwing up.”
That part wasn’t a lie.
“Maybe you should take her to the vet.”
“Yeah, I’m going to tomorrow. It’s my day off,” You bite the inside of your cheek, debating on whether to invite her or not since she was off as well.
“I’m off tomorrow too,” Maya puts her bottle down on the table. “I’ll come too. She’s a big dog. You’ll need help.”
“Thank you!” You smiled wide. “That would be very helpful.”
“Of course. I love you and Missy.”
You tilt your head, and look away, wishing she really meant it.
+1
Maya’s heart was beating out of her chest. It felt like she was going to have a heart attack, and she may as well be. The heartbreak would be all the same to her.
She has to stand back as Andy and Travis work to get you stabilized.
You were working to get some civilians out of their apartment as the ceiling fell down on you. The people managed to get out, but you hadn’t.
Maya ran in to save you, but after she did so, Andy made her stand back. She was a conflict of interest.
Victoria places a gentle hand on Maya’s shoulder as she paces, and Maya throws herself into Victoria’s hold.
No one has ever seen Maya in such a state. Everyone knew of her crush on you, and they were half excited that she was finally going to admit, but they were terrified that you wouldn’t pull through and that all of this happened.
Victoria holds Maya as you slowly wake.
“Ow,” You croak, and Maya is out of Victoria’s hold in a heartbeat. Everyone around you laugh at your reaction.
Maya dives to the ground, pulling you up into her arms, wrapping you in a bone crushing hug.
“Maya—“
“Don’t ever do that again,” Maya berates. “I was so scared.”
“I’m sorry—“
“No. I love you,” Maya lowers you so she could see your face. “And not like a friend, because that’s what you seem to think when I say those three words. I mean more than a friend, Y/n. Ever since your first day here. Even though I acted like I hated you. I really just wanted you to go out with me.”
“Maya.. I didn’t know.”
“I know,” Maya nods. “And I know that I just ruined one of my best friendships ever, but.. it’s worth it if you know. I’d rather you know, and hate me, than you not know.”
“Maya. Shut up,” You shake your head. “And here I thought I was the only one.”
“What—“
Maya is cut off as you press your lips to hers.
Everyone around you claps, and whoops, and you couldn’t care less about your pain, because you finally got what you wanted.
