The bright sun shone through the large windows of the waiting room at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital as you paced nervously in the waiting room. The thought of the upcoming check-up with Dr. Addison Montgomery made your heart beat faster even though you repeated this year after year. Despite your fears, you knew it was important to get regular checkups, especially after you noticed some unusual symptoms.
When you were finally called, you followed the nurse through the corridors of the gynecological clinic until you finally stood in front of the door to the treatment room. Once inside, Dr. Montgomery greeted you with a warm smile. "Welcome back, y/n. How are you today?"
You forced a smile, concern for your health and life's obstacles overshadowing your usual demeanor. "Thanks, I'm feeling okay so far. I'm here for a checkup because I've noticed a few symptoms that are worrying me."
Addison nodded understandingly and asked you to take a seat. However, as she began to ask the usual questions, she immediately noticed that something was wrong. Your posture was stiff, your answers were short, and you seemed uncomfortable. Quite the opposite from the last times she had seen you. "Can you tell me about the symptoms you've been noticing lately?" She asked softly and you hesitated for a moment before answering. "Well, I have unusual pulling and pressure in my abdomen. I feel very tired in general but I think that's probably just normal."
The redhead frowned slightly as she began to do the examination. When she gestured with her hand to ask you to sit on the exam chair, you flinched and promptly avoided making eye contact with her. "I´m sorry..." you simply interjected and as you continued to sit on the chair, Addison felt an inexplicable restlessness arise within her.
She watched you carefully as she took swabs and checked to see what was going on. As she did so, she recognized subtle signs of fear and insecurity manifesting in your behavior that she had never seen in you before. It was as if there was something in the air, something unspoken, standing between them and demanding their attention. She could practically feel the tension surrounding you, and her instincts told her that there was more going on here than what seemed like a checkup.
After she had also completed an ultrasound on you, Addison sat down on the lounger next to you and quickly decided to ask carefully. "I want to be honest with you. I noticed some signs during the exams that could indicate something might be wrong. I think it might be helpful if you talked about it." She murmured questioningly, placing a soothing hand on your thigh, making you jump at the touch as well.
You looked at her in surprise, your eyes fixed on her with relief. But only hesitantly did you begin to talk about your concerns, which went far beyond the physical symptoms. "Promise you won't tell anyone?" The person you spoke to nodded at you, giving you time to express yourself. She sensed that there was more here than your body had yet revealed, and she wanted to give you the opportunity to open up when you were ready. "I'm your doctor, y/n. Everything you tell me is confidential."
You swallowed hard before finally finding the courage to say the words you had suppressed for so long. "It's my father," you began hesitantly and the gynecologist listened attentively without interrupting. "Since the pandemic and losing his job, he's... he's not exactly... friendly to me."
The reticence and fear had crumbled as you revealed the truth about your home situation to her. You confessed to the constant insults, humiliation and physical abuse you endured from your father and Addison continued to listen intently, offering you an empathetic embrace of comfort and support as you revealed the painful details of your abuse.
When you finished, an oppressive silence fell across the room. Addison felt the weight of your words on her own shoulders. She felt powerless in the face of the suffering you had to endure at such a young age, an inner anger boiling up towards your parents and at the same time a burning desire deep inside her to help you. "Thank you, y/n, for trusting me," she finally spoke in a quiet voice and rubbed your shoulder reassuringly. This time you didn't flinch. "What has been done to you and continues to happen to you is unacceptable and you deserve to be safe and protected. I will do everything in my power to help you get out of this situation."
The shock of what she had heard was deep within her, but she forced herself to remain calm and empathetic. Her first priority was to reassure you that you were safe and that she would help you. She hugged you gently and held you close to her, giving your tears a place to disappear. "Please believe me when I say that you are safe here," she began to speak to you calmly. "No one will hurt you in front of me and if it happens again, you come straight to me, okay?"
You lowered your gaze, tears glistening in your eyes as you let yourself fall into her embrace, feeling the instant warmth and comfort she offered you. For a moment you felt safe, surrounded by the care of this remarkable woman who was willing to stand up for you. “Thank you, Dr. Montgomery,” you whispered, your voice shaking. "It means so much to me to know I'm not alone."
Addison smiled softly and rubbed your back. "From now on it's Addison. I think we're past the formal part. And of course, I'll help you through the difficult times, and I'll be by your side as long as you need me."
At that moment, you knew you had made the right decision to reach out to her. You felt strengthened by her words and beneath all the vulnerability you showed there was also a spark of hope. Hope that you weren't alone, that there were people who cared about you and were ready to help you when you needed it. You felt relieved that you had confided in someone, and Addison promised to support you every step of the way, whether through further testing, therapy, or any other form of police or court help you needed.
As you left the office, you felt a little more confident with her personal phone number and address. Addison Montgomery, who promised to protect you if your father became abusive again and you needed a place to stay. You knew that from now on you were no longer alone but had found an ally in her in the fight against the darkness that surrounded you.
ᕚ---ᕘ
In the weeks that followed, Addison Montgomery and you developed a deep bond that went beyond the boundaries of an ordinary doctor-patient relationship. She had given you her personal address and phone number in case you ever had to run away from home and didn't know where to go. The gesture of care had touched you deeply and shown you that you were not just a patient, but now also had a friendship that you could rely on.
The conversations between the two of you became more and more open and intimate as you worked together to come up with a plan to get yourself out of the dangerous situation you found yourself in. And one Saturday morning, after you had escaped from your father's attacks and came to her, Addison offered to take you in and give you a safe haven, away from your parents' abuse and humiliation.
At first you were unsure whether you should accept the offer. The fear of the unknown, the worry of the consequences, and the fear of becoming too much for Addison held you back. But in the end, your trust, the hope for a better life and the love that she conveyed to you every day prevailed.
At midnight on that same warm spring night, you packed your few belongings and made your way to Addison's house. As you opened the door, a feeling of relief and freedom washed over you. The redhead welcomed you with open arms and a warm, loving smile that showed you that you were finally safe and that she would never let anything happen to you again.
Over the coming weeks and months, you began to settle into your new home, helping Addison with Henry while she was at work. Under her loving care, you slowly blossomed, gained self-confidence, and finally found the courage to leave your past behind you.
Addison supported you every step of the way in your healing, whether it was through therapeutic conversations, medical care, or just her unconditional love and support. Together you went through ups and downs, but you always stood by each other, determined to overcome the darkness together and step into the light of a better future. Your connection was strong, characterized by mutual respect, trust and love and you knew that you would be connected forever.

An Addie ask for you!
Addie sees y/n getting hit on at a bar, which y/n he clearly uncomfortable with. Addison swoops in and saves the day
this just drew my attention immediately and i actually need this to happen to me. friend addie who swoops in to save reader, but reader has a fat crush on addie?????
also a tiny bit of angst
saving grace
You grimace as a big whiff of scotch reaches your nose. This man has been talking for at least twenty minutes about something you didn’t care about, and he wouldn’t go away.
He also kept inching closer to you, and you sat up straighter by the minute, ready at any time to reach for your pepper spray.
You look around the bar once again, looking for someone - anyone from the hospital. But there’s no one here.
You’ve stopped turning your head when someone comes in the door, because you’ve honestly lost all hope for a saving grace.
You huff out a sigh as he changes the topic to his job for the twelfth time. You were tired of hearing about how his work crush turned him down and that he needs someone to fulfill his needs.
You tense when you feel a hand grab your hip, but relax a bit when the familiar smell of Addison’s perfume reaches your nose.
“Hey,” Addison smiles, leaning down to leave a kiss on your cheek. “Go along with it.”
“Hi love,” You smile up, leaning up to place a small kiss on her lips.
It wasn’t hard for you to pretend to be with Addison, because you already wish you were. And you’d be lying if you said you’d never fantasized about it before.
“How was your day?” Addison takes a seat on your side, moving to push the man out of her way.
Your cheeks heat slightly, “Fine.”
“Derek wasn’t treating you bad again, was he?” Addison frowns.
This was all normal conversation to you, but it held more intimacy than normal. Probably because you just had your first kiss. You loved it.
“Hey, lady!” The guy slurs.
Addison holds up her pointer finger to silence him, “Because I’ll talk to him for you.”
“Oh, you don’t have to,” You shrugged and look down at the counter. “It’s my fault for messing up.”
“Hey,” Addison shakes her head, tilting your head towards her again. “Don’t say things like that.”
“I mean..” You sigh. “He’s not lying.”
“Y/n,” Addison frowns. “You’re extraordinary. If Derek can’t see that, then maybe you should study under another neurosurgeon. Or even switch specialties all together. Come work with me.”
You shake your head, letting out a small but breathy chuckle, “Maybe.”
“I’ll request you for next week,” Addison gives you a look, and you’re lost in her eyes for a minute.
“Hold on,” She tells you, turning in her seat. “If you don’t stop breathing in my ear, I will kick you in a place you don’t want to be kicked.”
“Sorry lady,” He put his hands up. “But that’s my date. We were here first.”
“That’s my girlfriend,” Addison turns her body, her hand on her hip, and her head tilted. You imagine her eyebrows are raised, because the man backs off, going to bother someone else.
You let out a sigh, “Thank you, Addie.”
“Of course sweetheart,” Addison shrugs it off.
“No, really,” You smile gratefully. “I almost maced him. If you had been a few minutes later.. I might have been facing charges.”
Addison laughs at that, “I don’t doubt it. I see you gripping your spray.”
She grabs your hand and removes it from your pocket.
A tingling sensation is left on your skin after she lets go, and you look away, embarrassed, because you know none of this would ever be real.
“Thanks for the help,” You put some money on the bar table. “I’ll see you tomorrow.”
“Why?” Addison stands. “I just got here.”
“I’m tired,” You try to shrug it off, but she isn’t having it.
“Did he actually do something to you?” You see fury growing in her eyes. “Or was it Derek? I’ll talk to him tomorrow, just stay here.”
You shake your head, “No.. it’s not that it’s..”
She looks at you like she’ll listen to whatever you have to say, but you know it’s not real.
“You know what? It’s nothing,” You laugh at yourself bitterly, pushing the door to the bar open, and breathing in the fresh air.
“Talk to me,” Addison grabs your wrist, pulling you back into her.
You spin into her arms, your hands landing on her shoulders while her hands are on your back. Your breath is caught in your throat at how close your faces are.
“Addison..” You bite the inside of your cheek. “You don’t feel it, do you?”
“Yes, Y/n. I have for a while now,” Addison admits softly.
“Me too..” You smile. “Since you started here and gave me my first cup of coffee from you.”
Addison smiles at the thought.
“Can I kiss you?” She asks, lifting a hand to your cheek.
“Please do,” You nod vigorously as her lips meet yours.

On Your Service
Addison Montgomery x reader
Summary: Bailey flusters you
Tumblr media
“No..” was the same answer bailey gave you everytime you asked to be on Addison’s service. “Oh, come on! Shepherd hates me, and I despise cardio” you complained and she filled your hands with charts to fill.
“I really do not care what you like or don’t like, Y/L/N. You will NOT be on montgomery’s service because you get distracted and all….lovey dovey everytime she asks for you, you can be on her service outside of work”
“What does that even me-” you gaped as you got what she meant, blood rushing to your cheeks. She smirked with a hand on her hip.
“I..will be working on these” you pointed at the charts under your arm and she nodded, “you go do that” she shooed you away before Addison stopped next to her to sign off one of the charts.
“What’s up with y/n?” She asked Bailey who smirked again, “No..Idea”

❛ 𝑻𝒉𝒂𝒕'𝒔 𝒖𝒔 ❜
𝙋𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜: Addison Montgomery x f!reader ♡
𝘼/𝙣: So sorry for the wait, I wasn't feeling good :( But I hope you'll like it!
Tumblr media
What's more beautiful than being with someone you like? It's hard to say. You and Addison looked so good together and you both recently decided to try for a baby. Both you and her were thrilled with this choice and were looking forward to nothing more than to have a family.
Since Addison had little chance of getting pregnant, everything was staked on you, the idea of carrying your child made you even more proud and eager to become a mother.
You started with a few donations, choosing a decent donor was as hard as fun, but unfortunately you weren't immediately lucky. You were both doctors, you knew it would take time, so you didn't let yourself be discouraged. Let's say that after other unsuccessful attempts, your enthusiasm gradually vanished, but Addison had that energy that she was able to transmit to you continuously, so you continued to believe it. God, how much you loved her.
Finally, just when you didn't expect it, it happened. You were pregnant. The answer to the test was more than clear, you must have watched it at least a dozen times before realizing it. You couldn't wait to tell her, you were so happy, her reaction would surely be double yours. And to surprise her by venting all your happiness, you have prepared an excellent dinner.
Addison returned about two hours later, it seemed more for you. She followed the delicious smell coming from the room where you were, welcoming you with a warm smile and giving you a light kiss on your lips.
"Wow, I'm so hungry" she said as you turned to her. "Hey, what's up?" she asked you having noticed your particular happiness.
"Addison Forbes Montgomery" you took her hands, making her feel more curious. "You have no idea how much I'll love you seeing you with our baby" her face lit up, she was probably still reworking. You placed her hands on your belly.
"You- you're pregnant?" her smile became the most beautiful thing for you in that moment.
"Yeah!" you exclaimed, unable to hold back your tears.
"Oh my God Y/n!" she kissed you intensely, then stopping everything to say something.
"Y/n L/n, you'll make me the happiest person giving me a baby and becoming my wife" she looked at your eyes, her words looked so serious and full of love. At that point the tears increased, you didn't know if for the hormones you had taken or for the inexplicable happiness, maybe for both. You began to sob laughing, unable to control yourself.
"Yes, yes, yes!!! I'd love to become your wife" you kissed her again, this time longer than before.
So the wedding and the baby have been the only priority to you in this period. Both had decided that the wedding would be after the baby's birth, also because you didn't want to seem an awful monster on the best day of your life.
For the baby you had done every possible exam, you wanted a beautiful healthy baby, and you'd do everything to make it sure. The funniest thing was that, well, barring your stupid hormones and weird cravings for food that no one would ever eat, you couldn't agree on just one name, you might even have combined all possibilities at the cost of pleasing both. He was a baby boy, and she'd liked to call him Henry, but you liked Jess more. So... Jenry...? For a while you thought that was better to stop thinking about it, at the sight of the baby it was hoped that the name would be chosen immediately.
When you was in labor she was in surgery, trying to save another baby. Let's say it, you were very stubborn, you would even have been able to stop labor with all your might just to have Addison with you.
"Where the fuck is the girl who's gonna be my wife?! I want her here!" you were yelling at anyone trying to calm you down, then Addison finally caught up with you and you began to realize the situation better.
"We're meeting our son, oh my God Y/n it's awesome, I love you so much!" she squeezed your hand as you screamed in pain between the thrusts.
"No, it's not-" you tried to tell her referring to the 'beautiful' experience you were passing at that moment.
When you were finally able to hug your son you did nothing but look at him laughing with tears in your eyes, you didn't believe that such a beautiful thing could grow inside you.
"Ryle" you said. "He's name is Ryle" you looked at Addison and then turned towards the cute baby boy you held.
"Yeah, Ryle. It's perfect" she kissed your forehead and gently stroked the baby's cheek.
In these two months Ryle had already grown a lot, he was becoming more and more adorable. Well, during your wedding ceremony he cried and screamed almost all the time, but somehow it made it special.
As soon as he was with either of you he calmed down, and there were no words to describe that feeling, where the son recognizes his own mother. But you can say you're proud of everything, of you, of Addison, of Ryle, of all of you together.

Distraction- Addison Montgomery
Tumblr media
Pairing: Addison Montgomery x Reader
Characters: Addison Montgomery
Warnings: N/A
Request: @dannyboy-writes - Hey, may i request being secretly with Addison, and if it's possible for the reader to be gn id much appreciate it
Word Count: 419
Author: Charlotte
Normally you weren’t one to skive off when you were on shift, but this day was too long and strenuous to care. You had exchanged a look with your girlfriend before heading into the on-call room to check that no one was in there. The coast was clear, and you waited the few minutes until Addison joined you, closing the door behind her, wedging something under the edge of it to work as a lock or at least a warning for someone coming in.
The two of you had been together for a while but with the hospital being worse than a high school when it came to gossip, you had kept the whole relationship a secret. You weren’t thrilled about sneaking around but it had its enjoyable moments such as hiding in the on-call room together to not only get to spend time together but also have an escape from the workday.
Addison joined you on the lower bunk of one of the beds, instantly leaning in to press her lips to yours.
“I won’t have long before O’Malley will look for me,” she stated. “He’s on my service today and we have a surgery this afternoon that he’ll have questions about.”
You shrugged your shoulders. “He can look as much as he wants, I’ve got you for now.”
Addison rolled her eyes at you, pushing off her surgical jacket to give her a larger range of movement as well as knowing that soon the rest of her scrubs would be joining it.
“Whose service are you on today?” She asked.
“Sloan’s,” you stated. “So he won’t even notice that I’ve gone, at least not until he wants me to do some menial task for him. It’s the main reason I needed to get out of there for a bit, it’s been one of those days.”
She leaned in to press her lips along your jaw, smiling against your skin.
“Well, I can provide some distraction,” she said as she moved onto your neck.
“I think that would be much appreciated,” you smiled. “Do you think anyone saw you follow me in here?”
Addison shook her head. “Our secret should be safe from their prying eyes, but if you don’t want to risk it…”
Her words trailed off. You lifted her chin so that she had to look you in the eyes.
“When have I not been up for a little risk?”
Your lips collided together once more as you used one another for the much needed distraction.

Can i request a greys anat. fic? Where addison is newley devorced from derek and is falling head over heals for intern reader and gets v teased for it by mark, derek and callie? (I am only on s3 of greys anatomy and i love it sm!)
Addison Getting Teased for Liking an Intern | Blurb
It definitely took some time after the divorce for the awkwardness around Addison, Derek, and Mark to go away and it was difficult for all three of time. After some long and hard conversations, Addison and Derek came to the mutual agreement that their divorce was for the best and began to sort things out between themselves and with Mark (both individually and together).
Their past was still a bit of a touchy subject but they were getting there, which is why it came as a surprise when Mark noticed Addison and Callie standing together and made a comment. “Wow, I haven’t seen Addison look at someone like that since she met Derek in med school,” he joked.
Derek, who had been standing with Mark, and Callie both followed Addison’s line of sight, only to see the new intern who the hospital had been gossiping about talking to Meredith by the stairs.
“Oooooh,” Callie teased, nudging her friend playfully with her elbow as Addison’s face immediately went the same shade as her hair.
She straightened her posture and made a show of rolling her eyes. “Don’t be dramatic, I wasn’t giving her any type of look,” she insisted.
“You were practically drooling,” Derek chimed in, teasing good-naturally with a smug look on his face. Maybe he was being a bit dramatic now.
Addison scoffed, though it wasn’t very convincing. “It’s nothing! She’s—she’s . . .” There were no words for her to say to escape from this.
“You’re head over heels, oh my god!” Callie exclaimed excitedly, even clapping her hands.
Addison’s face got redder by the moment. Mark opened his mouth to add something snarky in, when he stopped at the sight of you, the intern, walking over. “Doctor Montgomery!” You said cheerfully, wearing a bright and contagious smile.
Mark and Derek had to stifle snickers at how quickly Addison turned around. “Y-yes?” She said, straightening her coat.
“Would you mind if I discuss a patient with you? I just had some questions about the chart,” you said, holding the clipboard out to her.
Not trusting herself to speak, Addison only nodded with a small “mhm!”.
You pinched your eyebrows. “Yes, you do mind?” You asked, a little dejected.
Addison’s eyes went wide but Callie quickly swooped in to save the day. “She doesn’t mind! She has all the time in the world,” the resident said, practically pushing Addison towards you. You looked confused, but went with it.
As Addison walked away with you, she glanced over her shoulder to see the three doctors wearing shit-eating grins. Derek gave her a thumbs up, Mark was making a kissy face, and Callie was mouthing at her telling her to make a move. She gave them one fierce glare that only she could before turning back to you and refocusing her attention.

Addison Montgomery x Female Reader 2,602 words
The violin and piano of the orchestra began the music and you heard the rustle of friends and family turning in their seat. You were getting married. With one final big breath, you opened your eyes to see your father smiling at you with tears in his eyes as he held out his arm for you to take. You wrapped your arm around his before the two of you began to walk toward the hall, all heads turned to you and you couldn't help the smile that sprung onto your lips when you saw everyone. All of your friends and family and all of her friends and family, together in one place. You were going to marry Addison Montgomery.
Addison Montgomery, you could still remember the first time you had met as if it were yesterday; you were both at Yale for pre-med and she had sat next to you in biology:
"Hi, can I sit here?" You quickly turned up to the voice and at seeing someone so close you realised that they were talking about the seat next to you.
"Yeah," you replied sheepishly, your voice rising a few octaves as you fumbled to remove your bag and books from the desk. You diverted your eyes away from the person as they settled down and focused on the colourful edges of your notebook.
"I'm Addison." You looked to the person next to you and nearly choked on your own breath. She was gorgeous, red hair framed a perfect face, blue eyes stared expectedly at you -so blue you felt that you were swimming- and her lips stretched in a warm smile. Your heart was beating out of your chest. She held out her hand and you took it, hoping that your hand wouldn't feel too warm.
"Y/n," you introduced yourself with a smile back before returning to staring at your books.
"So, where are you from, Y/n?" Your eyebrows furrowed as you looked at her in shock, you hadn't expected her to talk to you, let alone actually get to know you. And that was the beginning of your friendship. The two of you had gotten closer and closer through your time at Yale, before a kiss had changed it all.
You had gone over to her place to study for your upcoming exam and you were lying on her floor, your notes and books stacked in messy piles. It was late and you were getting tired from sitting on the floor so you had moved next to her on her bed. You were on you back, your legs dangling over the edge with your hands covering your eyes and Addison was staring at you with a smile on her face. She had fallen for you, something she had never expected to happen, but it did and it scared her ever so slightly. If you were a guy, she'd know what to do, she would know what to say, know how to act. However, you weren't a guy; you were Y/n and she really, really did not want to mess up what you two had.
"You are sleeping round tonight, right?" Addison questioned you as she stared out of the window, the moon staring in from its place in the dark sky. You hummed back and Addison turned her head back to you. You were already half asleep and she caught her lip between her teeth to suppress a laugh before sliding off her bed and walking to stand in front of you. "Come on," she began and grabbed your hands with hers, "let's get ready for bed," and she pulled you to sit upright, no aid coming from your side.
You mumbled incoherently under your breath as you hung your head, Addison chuckled as you and pushed your head up lightly by cupping your cheeks. Your eyes met hers and you were stuck in a trance. Your faces were so close and you could feel her soft breath floating over your skin. Her smile had fallen and her pupils were dilated due to the darkening room. You watched intently as they flicked from your eyes down to your lips and you felt yourself gasp lightly, your heart pounding and threatening to fall out of your chest.
"Addie," you whispered, you didn't know why you said it, but you were glad that you did because she leaned forward and pressed her lips against yours. It was short, it was soft, it was perfect. The two of you pulled away slightly and you watched as she opened her eyes and a smile overcome her features. You were in love.
▪▪▪
Those years you had spent with her had been some of the best in your life, but all good things come to an end eventually. Your paths had finally split; your time at Yale had ended and the two of you had begun your journeys at med school. Though this time you were at different schools and the long distance thing never worked, so the two of you inevitably broke up and continued down your paths. Never thinking that they would cross again.
When the position of Head of Cardio arose at Seattle Grace Hospital, you were quick to take up the offer. It had been one of your dreams to work there and it was most likely the quickest transfer you had ever done, accepting the offer and working there the next day. You were ecstatic.
You had just finished talking with Doctor Webber in his office when you heard a knock at the door, you turned your head and watched as it swung open.
"Ah, Bailey, this is Doctor Y/n Y/l/n, our new Head of Cardio," Webber turned to you and gestured to the woman at the door, "this is Doctor Bailey, she'll be showing you around today, so you know where you're going."
You gave them a smile, "Thanks, that's very nice of you," and Webber shooed off. You shook the woman's hand and followed her out of the room.
"Are we doing the tour now? Cause if you're busy I really don't mind waiting somewhere," you offered as you jogged to catch up to her, who was surprisingly fast. She stopped abruptly and you nearly crashed into her.
Bailey nodded her head in thought, "yes, yes, there's this new, ground-breaking surgery that I really want to watch, thank you!" She grinned and she walked off. You watched her before looking around at the twisting, turning maze of corridors and you were filled with a sense of dread.
"Well don't just stand there looking dumb, come and watch surgery!" Bailey shouted after you and you quickly chased after her. And that was how you had gotten into Bailey's good books.
You had been introduced to quite a few of the surgeons working in the hospital as you all watched the world-esteemed Doctor Shepherd work his magic, it was truly phenomenal. After many hours, Bailey took you on the tour around the hospital and then you stopped at your last destination - the OR board. You stood beside her as she worked on it when someone walked over to her.
You felt Bailey twist you around, "This is our new Head of Cardio, Y/n Y/l/n, and this is-" and you were met with a face you had never thought you would see again.
"Addison," you interrupted in shock and Bailey drew back away from the reunion. You watched as a smile made its way onto her lips, the years had been good to her.
"Y/n, it's so good to see you, god, I haven't seen you in forever," the surprise evident in her voice as she pulled you into a hug. You were enveloped in a familiar, comforting smell as you hugged her back - old memories returning to you at the re-introduction of the scent. As you stepped back you tucked a piece of fallen hair behind your ear, Addison's eyes followed the familiar movement and she couldn't her widening smile and the fluttering in her chest. You were just as she remembered, a little older, but the same nonetheless .
"We did pre-med together," Addison noted, addressing Bailey and she smiled at your reunion.
"Well, we've just finished our tour, so you're welcome to steal her," Bailey pushed.
"Have you met Yang?" Addison questioned and you shook your head.
"Who's Yang?" You asked as you followed her.
"Yang is one of Bailey's interns, made for cardio, she is going to pick your brains," Addison turned her head to look at you, and you felt yourself stare into her blue eyes, as she smirked at you, "so be prepared, she's been begging for a new Head of Cardio." You felt your stomach do flips, an enthusiastic student, you were going to love working at Seattle Grace.
▪▪▪
And you did. However, in time, you had found that old feelings had reemerged and you did your best to keep them to yourself, but unconsciously wandering eyes had seemingly become your downfall.
You were in conversation with Callie, you, her and Addison had all become close through the months you had been at Seattle Grace, when a certain red-head caught your eye from across the hospital. As Callie ran through her steps during the procedure, you were nodding your head in false acknowledgement and didn't notice when her voice trailed off into silence. You were biting on the end of your pen and Callie sighed lightly as she crossed her arms over her chest - and rolled her eyes -  before following your gaze. Callie raised a brow and a smirk overcame her annoyed expression.
"Just ask her out." Callie said boldly and loudly. Your eyes widened as you pushed her away with struggling hands, ortho was no joke.
"SHhhhh, don't have to tell everyone," you shushed her harshly and Callie shrugged in reply.
"I'm just saying that you need to focus or you're gonna kill my patient," she warned before leaving you to check on her patient. You let out a big sigh, you were really, really distracted
You stared wide-eyed at the blood on your hands, the heart monitor monotone, your chest heaving. You ran the whole procedure through your head - over and over again.
"Y/n, Y/n!" You blinked out of your trance and looked up at the voice, Callie was staring at you with her eyebrows twisted in concern, everyone was staring at you and you felt your stomach churn illy.
"Uhm," your gaze moved to clock and you stated shakily, "time of death sixteen-twenty one. Can- Can someone else close?" You saw Callie nod her head and you gave her a small smile before ripping your apron and gloves off as you walked away. The tears already prickling at your eyes.
You had spent the next few hours alone in an on-call room, tired but unable to sleep, until you were paged. You quickly fixed yourself before leaving the safety of your hideout and out into the rush of the ER. It had only been a minute since you were paged and it had already seemed like you were late. The beds were full and more were still being wheeled in and you stared in shock. Callie had caught your hesitancy and ran over, she put a hand on your shoulder.
"Pile up on the highway, bed three needs a consult," you nodded your head as she told you what to do and just as you were about to leave she stopped you, "it wasn't your fault, there was nothing you could do." You nodded your head again and you felt her pat your shoulder lightly before going back to receive the next patient. You let out a deep sigh before quickly moving to bed three, the start of hours and hours on your feet.
You closed up your last surgery for the day and stretched the aching muscles in your back and shoulders before leaving the O.R. Just as you were blinking the sleep from your eyes you rounded a corner and nearly jumped out of your skin when you saw someone on top of the bed. Addison looked at you with a frown.
"I don't look that bad, do I?" She joked and you rolled your eyes with a smile before joining her on the bed.
"What're you doing here?" You mumbled as you closed your eyes, shielding them from the bright hospital lights.
"Too tired to make it to an on-call room," she replied and you hummed in agreement. Addison stared at you - your face, your nose, your closed eyes, your lips - and felt her heart patter like rain against a window. She breathed in deeply and wrapped an arm around your waist before pulling you in and resting her head against your own. You let out another hum, too tired to say anything.
The two of you stayed silent for a while and you were hit with a sense of déjà vu; Addison had pulled you in just the same way as when you were in pre-med and studying late at night in the library. You let out a little laugh.
"What?" Addison murmured.
"Nothing, this just reminds me of that time in the library." You heard her chuckle as she remembered and the smile grew on your face.
"The night I asked you to be my girlfriend," Addison recalled and you laughed.
"Yeah, god, we were so young," you sighed.
"And dumb," Addison reminded and you nodded in agreement.
"So, so dumb," and the two of you fell into another silence as you remembered all of your memories and history together. "We were good though," Addison hummed in reply, a smile on her face.
"We-" Addison began and you felt the seriousness in her tone you moved to look at her, her blue eyes staring into your own, "We could try again." Those four words had hit you like a truck and you didn't know what to say. You sat there dumbly and Addison was becoming more nervous by the second. "It was just a thought, sorry, it was dumb, forget about it," Addison waved off as she slid off the bed and was about to leave when you wrapped a hand around her wrist.
"No, I- I'd like to, try again," you interrupted, "if that was what you were asking."
A smile overcame Addison's features and then her pager went off, "911, I better go, I'll see you later," she confirmed before she was off, running down the hall. When she disappeared as she rounded a corner you rested your head against the wall behind you and grinned; your heart beating happily.
▪▪▪
And the rest was history, you proposed three years after that and today was your wedding. You stood at the alter as you anxiously waited for the love of your life to join you, it was cheesy but she really was. Addison came into view and you felt all the air in your lungs escape, you were getting married, The Captain walked beside her as she walked forward and you watched her with heart-eyes. Her father left her once she was stood in front of you and took his seat next to Bizzy and and Susan. The two of you smiled at each other, you had waited so long for this moment and it was finally here.
"Hi," she whispered with a grin, her dazzling blue eyes so deep you felt as if you were swimming - you were going to love this woman for your whole life, and for whatever came next.

Stuck in the middle: what it's like being close to Derek and Addison during their devorce.
Summary: headcanons on what life is like when two of most important people are at war and holidays become questionable.
Paring: Platonic!reader X Derek shepherd, Patonic!Reader X Addison Montgomery, Mark Sloan x reader
Request: @luvlesavyy Where the reader is a woman of about 21 years old, and enters the residency program along with the others, however, she is almost like a sister to Derek (they were raised together and even because of the age difference, they love each other too much) addisson is like a mother to her and she gets really bad with everything that happens between them. Maybe you could write headcanons of what her holidays would be like with them, the whole family together, and Mark would have a crush on her.
A/n: hope you like it, thanks for the request

Tumblr media
~you've known Derek since you were kids. Even though he's got a few years on you the two of you have been glued to the hip ever since you met.
~you of course met Addison through Derek and she seemed to take a immediate liking to you. You didn't really have a good home life so Addison didn't hesitate to take you under her wing.
~with the three of you being so close and them helping you through medical school you were certainly crushed when you heard Addie cheated on Derek.
~the night that it happened Derek had came to your apartment. He was emotional mess and not only was he distraught he was angry... And so were you, you would never in a million years think Addison would cheat.
~what hurt more was the fact that she cheated on him with Mark, another close friend.
~you always liked Mark. Yes he's was older but he always treated you like a queen dispite you being strictly friends. Derek always made sure of that.
~“I just need to get out of this damn city”
~“what if you came to Seattle with me? I'm starting the residency program there”
~so that's exactly what you did. He got his trailer out in the woods and you got an apartment about ten minutes away.
~like mentioned before you two are glued to the hip, but there was no way you were gonna live in that cramped trailer with him, no matter how much you loved him.
Your relationship with Derek:
To the unknown people might think you'd two would be a couple... That's far from the truth.
Derek is your Soulmate. He's more than best friend but less than a lover. You've always had each other's backs and he loves you to death.
Derek has always protected you, him and Addie both but Derek seemed to always take it to another level.
You met him through Amilea. It may sound stereotypical but you were getting picked on at a public park near the neighborhood you grew up in. Amilea saw it and got Derek, she was to young to handle it her self so she got Derek. He chased the little punks off and the rest is history.
As Kids you practically lived at the Shepherd's home. Mrs. Shepherd loved you like her own and never made you feel like you did belong.
You had decent relationships with his sisters I guess. Nacy and Kathleen made it clear they didn't care for you too much but Liz and Amilea cared for like crazy, but not as much as Derek did.
Derek is one that inspired you to become a doctor. You would always be fascinated by all his medical books and when he graduated medical school is when you decided to go yourself.
Him and Addison got you threw it all and never gave up on you.
It's the little things that made your bond strong, rather it be listing to your rants about your favorite topics, taking you to concerts even he doesn't like the music, dressing up on Halloween with you, or even taking you to watch every Harry Potter movie when they'd be in theaters.
He got you threw your first heartbreak and he's never confirmed or denied the facted he slashed your Ex's tires after finding out he cheated.
If you want a movie night, done he'll get the popcorn, you want to bast Elvis Presley he'll find all the speakers and dance with you. You had a nightmare, he'll sleep on the floor next your bed in till your not scared anymore.
You may not share the same blood but your his sister no matter what.
Your relationship with Addison:
Addison loves you like a daughter or little sister, there's no doubt about that.
She use to stay that day she met you she automatically new you'd be close.
She thought you most things girls learn from their mother, but since yours past away Addie made sure to take care of you.
She'd do your hair, help you pick out close, taught you how to use make up and was there when you got your first Period.
You wanted to be just like her and she was your biggest inspiration growing up.
She helped you get threw your insecurities and always made sure that you knew how beautiful you are.
She hates it when you talk down on yourself and she wishes you saw what she was and that was pure beauty.
If you say anything decorating about yourself she'll give you a little love tap on the head or shoulder.
You were her maid of honor at hers and Derek's wedding.
Addison was the only one who knew about Mark's feelings for you and she kept it a secret for him. She also told him to stay away from you.
When she slept with Mark she felt that she not only betrayed Derek but she also Betrayed you.
She couldn't bring herself to tell you. She didn't want to lose you.
What it's like being around them now:
You didn't know Addison was coming to Seattle. Everything seemed to be great Derek found a girl that really made him happy and you met this guy Alex.
When you saw her you immediately hugged her. Dispite what she did you really did miss her.
“I missed you Addie, but what are you doing here?”
“I'm here to get Derek back, what I did was unforgettable but I gotta try”
Uh oh...
When they do get back together you could immediately tell it wad a mistake.
It's like when a small child can tell mom and dad don't love each other anymore. You can just tell.
Both of them unintentionally stick you in the middle and use you to get back at each other.
“well tell him I can't do that and that he's an idiot”
“tell her that's not what the patient needs”
It drives you crazy but most of all it hurts.
You could tell Derek's hurting so you don't say anything. You love them both and definitely don't want to choose sides.
What holidays are like with them:
The first Christmas they had back together would have been depressing without you. Derek didn't feel like celebrating anything and Addison would ignore it.
But on the bright side you got a small Christmas tree to put in Derek's trailer and tried to cheer him up. With or without Addison you were gonna give Derek a good Christmas. He deserved it.
With Addison you'd look through magazines and pick out gifts for Mrs. Shepherd and Derek's sister.
Addison will make sure to get you expensive gifts. Some of which she over thought about. As bad as it sounds she unknowingly wanted to out do Derek.
Derek knows you like the back of his hand so he'd get you anything that you loved rather it be something from your favorite show or even one of a kind collectable.
The presents didn't matter you just wanted to have a peaceful Christmas with the both of them... Like how they used to be.
On Christmas eve you decorated the trailer and they came home to a Christmas tree and your puppy eyes begging for a Christmas.
It turned out to be an amazing night. Christmas movies and laughter. Like how it used to be..
If it's Halloween you and Derek will have a horror movie marathon. You two will be laughing at the gore and Addison will be covering her face in fear or disgust.
Thanksgiving is about like Christmas. You'd put something amazing together and you'll have one night of peace.
Mark having a crush on you:
This was just trouble from the start.
If we're being honest Mark loved you since they day you met, but the problem was he was too afraid to admit and derek would have never let it happen.
Mark loves everything about you. He loves how goofy and kind you are. He feel in love with how your eyes sparkl when you talk about something you love and he especially loves your bubbly personality.
Derek could tell. He saw the way he looked at you and it angered him and scared him. He didn't want Mark hurting you.
He thought he loved Addison but in reality he just wanted to prove to himself he could be happy without you. That wasn't true and not only did he hurt his best friend, he hurt you too.
When He came to Seattle he not only wanted to get Derek back, he wanted to get you back to.
Derek didn't trust him and he wanted to make sure Mark stayed far away from you.
At times it was annoying but you understood where Derek was coming from.
The day mark came to visit Seattle-Grace he got a punch in the face by Derek and you had to patch him up.
As you were giving him stitches his steal-blue eyes never left you. He could feel his heart pounding because of how close he was to you.
“I really did miss you N/n”
You didn't know what to feel. You loved his charm and you will admit you missed him. You missed his laugh, smile, even missed the smell of his colone.
You didn't want to get hurt so you pushed him away, but Mark wasn't gonna give up too easily.
He didn't tell Derek how he felt about you because he knew Derek wouldn't stand by it.
Addison on the other hand told him if he hurt you she'd cut his balls off. She just wants you to be happy but if your hurt all hell will break loose.
“”
You kept your relationship a secret for awhile. You told Callie because of how close you were but Derek was in the dark about it.
You hated lying to him but you knew he would never except it. But really he'd just be happy that your happy, that's all he ever wanted for you.
But mark told him to at the wrong time. Derek lost a patient and Mark was determined to tell him.
They got in a fight and you and Meredith had to pull them apart. You felt like you were being towrn apart. You didn't know which side to take.
The night if happened you want to check on Derek after patching Mark up.
“I love him”
“I just don't want you to get hurt”
You and Meredith got them to work things out and everything seemed to fall into place.
Extra headcanons:
You and Meredith become the best of friends through the two men.
Even though your bit, if not the same age as Meredith you two take care of each other.
Double dates all the time.
Mark is an amazing boyfriend and treats you like the queen you are.
Derek is still over protective but he's getting used to toning it down a bit. It's marks turn to take care of you.
You Became a Peds surgeon and the people who practically raised you couldn't be more proud.
When you become an attending you might or might not have a favorite intern.
Your basically to Levi Schmitt what Derek was to you. You take Levi under your wing and you two become close.
You and Mark end up having twins and Derek is their God-father.
Even though things started off Rocky they couldn't have ended better.
That's all for now,buddies

Hearts and Choices
Pairing: Amelia Shepherd x Reader
Summary: You were offered by Yang a position that will help further your career in Cardiothoracic instead of your old specialty Plastic Surgery. However, this could mean leaving Amelia behind.
Warning: Abandonment issues (?), (idk if there’s more, but if you think so just tell me so I can add them)
Words: 1.4k
When I was offered to be the Director of Cardiothoracic Surgery in Switzerland, as Yang would be the next Klausmann’s Director of Surgery and Head of Surgical Research, she needed my expertise and helped her manage the load. I wanted to accept it immediately, knowing this would be a big step in my career in Cardiothoracic. However, I need to talk to Amelia. I don’t want to leave her after Meredith is gone, and just last month, Maggie did too. I know how she is when the people close to her are leaving.
I met her when Addie brought me to Seattle Grace. I was with her in Seaside moonlighting. They said she did work at the seaside before, but I hadn’t caught her as she was leaving and going to Seattle to stay with her brother. We weren’t together then, just shameless flirting and almost kissing ‘til Addison interrupted us. We reconnected when Cormac and I transferred with Cristina’s arrangement for him to be Head of Peds and I Head of Cardio but become Head of Plastics instead, as apparently Maggie and Winston are in Cardio now, so I have to find a job. Thankfully, I’m triple certified in plastics before transferring my speciality to become a surgeon in Cardiothoracic. Anyway, before I bore you with my achievements from a young age. Let’s return to my big problem about telling the woman I love about my job offer.
I had just finished my surgery when I saw her about to berate Yasuda as I heard the Kid may have dropped an instrument. I know that intern has been sleeping in on-call rooms, and I wonder what her story is about, but I don’t think the kid needs a lecture. So I had to interrupt.
“Hey, Dr Yasuda and Dr Shepherd. Can I talk to you for a minute?” I said to her and pushed her to a supply room before she could reply. I gave Yasuda a look, and she nodded in appreciation. “Okay, what’s going on, babe? I saw you about to embarrass the intern in front of many nurses and probably her patients.” I asked. She was just looking at the floor and exhausted for the day. “Hey, Amy. Talk to me, babe.” I approached her and raised her head so she could look at me. “I know about the offer,” she said, trying not to look and maintain eye contact. “Oh, okay. Well, first off, why did you look at my emails? That's kinda shitty as my privacy is – “ “I didn't mean to. It was just there in front of me when I asked to use your laptop when you were in the shower,” she interrupted. “Well, you should have just showered with me, you know, and we wouldn’t have this problem,” I said, and I could see that she was hiding a smile. I held her hands and kissed them to get her to calm down. I spoke, “I was going to tell you about it later when we get home, as I don’t want to keep this a secret from you. I love you, Amelia and I want your opinion about it as it would be a huge step for my career.” “Do you want it? Are you planning to take it?” she asked. “Truthfully, it is a very tempting offer and a huge one for me, babe. I was supposed to be here for the head of Cardio, but because Maggie and Winston happened, I had to give that up and become head of Plastics.” I said. “So you are taking it,” she said as she let go of my hand and sat on the floor, trying to settle her feeling and not wanting her tears to fall. I sighed. I followed and sat near her, taking her in my arms and letting her feel me.
“I love you, Amelia. I have never loved someone so unique and complex that each waking moment I have with you is never dull and always unpredictable. When I came back here, you were with Link and also very pregnant, and I know you were happy, so I never disturbed you even when my feelings for you grew so much in the years that I finally know you. Then did you know how much it was killing me to see you being proposed to by Link on that beach? God, I thought my heart would stop, and that’s coming from a world-class cardiothoracic surgeon who knows it is a rare feat, so I left for three months. I went to see Yang and told her my predicament. I helped her in Klausmann, and I tried and tried to forget about my feelings for you, but I can’t. I told her that I had to go home. Home, even though I’m not sure where that was until I saw you performing that flawless operation on David. You were my home even if I wasn’t yours. It was always the wrong timing for us. I didn’t realise that you met Kai and, I guess, gotten to know them, and maybe you love them, but I just let it be.” “Uhmm, excuse me, but you weren’t so available yourself. You were hooking up with the new Plastics surgeon. I thought you didn’t want to do with me. I never expected that you also have feelings for me.” she said. “I know I wasn’t a saint, Amy. I am human too, and I needed people, and I hooked up with people, but you, on the other hand, were always in a relationship, so I didn’t do anything not until after a few months when I saw you in the backyard when Kai left you. I consoled you but kept my distance because I didn’t want to be your rebound.” “You are not my rebound. How many times do I have to tell you that.” “I know, Amy. I know. I just want to tell you that these past few months of being with you are never enough, Babe. I love you so much a-” “But you’re leaving. That’s what people say before they abandon me.” she interrupted again. “God, woman, let me finish.” I held her closer as if she’d run away and said,” I love you so much, and I love my job too. However, after many relationships on your part and flings from mine, I realised that I want it just to be you, and so I told Cristina that I have to talk to you about this, and here we are.” “You’re going to leave me, aren’t you? Just tell me already. Stop my suffering.” she said and hugged me tight.
“You don’t listen, huh? I love you, and I will always choose you, Amy. I’m accepting the Chief of Cardiothoracic Surgery but not in Zurich. I’ll be accepting it here. I will tell Yang she can offer it to Ndugu even though he shouldn’t leave the hospital. That guy is amazing with his techniques, and Maggie taught him well.” I said. “You're not leaving. You are not leaving?” she said, surprised. “I’m not leaving, baby, but I want to explore the options of having Klausmann and Grey Sloan partner, especially with Cardiothoracic research. Cristina owes me some favours. Maybe she and I can talk about it as well as Teddy. Though I have to talk to Winston and maybe persuade him not to leave and instead be my co-chief.” I said out loud. “Thank you, and I love you. I do.” She said, kissing me passionately as if we didn’t need air to breathe.
We got interrupted when someone walked in, “seriously, you two? Not again.” Addison said. Amelia and I laughed, and I said, amused, “Why is it always you, Addie?” “I don’t know, and I hate you two.” She said and left the room. I got up carrying Amelia with me. I settled her down and said, “We’ll be okay, love. I love you, and I’m staying.”
After the missed opportunities of being with the woman I love, I don’t think I’ll ever leave now that I have the taste of it. I love her and Scout and my profession, so I guess I made the right choice.

Addison walks towards the break room, hoping to find Amelia there before it’s too late. She walks into the room, luckily seeing the youngest Shepherd sitting on the couch, coffee in hand, talking with Maggie Pierce. “Amelia, could I talk to you for a minute?” She says right away, skipping the pleasantries.
With a look, Amelia stands up. “Sure.” She chuckles quietly, slightly nervous. “What’s up?” She asks after Maggie leaves to room for the two.
“I called Doctor Y/L/N here to help me with a patient of mine, she’s arriving today.” She tells, trying to gauge what Amelia’s thoughts are about seeing her ex again. “I wanted to tell you before she’s here.”
“Okay, thanks for telling me.” And with that Amelia leaves the room. Addison sighs, rubbing her forehead. Suddenly she isn’t too sure if she did the right thing, but she really needs Y/N here, she’s the best in her field. She just has to hope everything goes smoothly.
“Addison!” Y/N’s voice calls out excitedly.
The red head turns around to see her doctor friend walking towards her with a bright smile. “Hey, stranger.” Addison laughs, meeting her half way to hug her. “I’m so glad to finally see you. How was the world?” She pulls away, her hands on Y/N’s shoulders to see how much she has changed over the years.
“The world was good.” Y/N decided to leave the practice in Los Angeles to join the Doctors Without Borders, traveling all over the world with them. “How’s Seattle? I didn’t think you’d come back here.” She looks around the hospital. This isn’t her first time in Grey Sloan Memorial, but it has been a long time since she was last here.
“Seattle is good. You know I go where babies need me, and this baby needs us both.” She nods her head forward, so they start walking. “The baby is two months old and his heart is incredibly weak. He won’t survive without a donor heart, but getting a heart that small will take too much time.”
“That’s where I come in.”
“That’s where you come in.” Addison smiles, she missed working with her. “His heart could become strong enough, if you fixed the veins around it.” They walk into a room full of pictures of the baby’s heart and veins.
Y/N looks through the pictures, at times picking one of them up to see it closer. The heart is compromised, and the baby won’t survive long if they do nothing, but the surgery Addison is talking about is incredibly risky. Fortunately, Y/N is a risk taker.
“I can do it,” she states, “but I’m gonna need a lot of help. His vitals need to be monitored closely.”
Letting out a sigh of relief, Addison nods. “I’ll get you anything you need.” She pauses for a moment, contemplating on saying anything. “Amelia is here, you know? Incase you wanted to talk to her.”
“Oh.” Y/N clears her throat, cleaning up the pictures into a neat pile so she wouldn’t have to look at Addison staring at her. “I didn’t know that.” She mumbles.
The now silent and tense atmosphere of the room makes Addison question whether she made the right decision. Amelia is one of the most important people in her life, she’s her sister, but she also cares about Y/N a lot. Their relationship didn’t really end on the best terms, mostly because of Amelia’s addiction, but the relationship itself was good. They both were happiest Addison has ever seen when they were together.
“I’ll make a surgery plan and then get back to you, okay?” Y/N states, not waiting for Addison to answer as she leaves the room.
Her mind is all over the place, which makes her walk through the hallways with less attention than usually, though she does greet the familiar faces going past her. However, she doesn’t notice the person walking right towards her with the same state of mind. So, they crash into each other.
All the pictures Y/N was holding fly to the floor. “Shit, I’m sorry.” She grumbles, kneeling down to gather them.
“Y/N?”
The familiar voice makes her head snap up. Amelia is standing over her, an indescribable look on her face. The exes stare at each other in silence, both unsure what to do. They both knew of the others presence in the hospital, but they didn’t think they’d bump into each other, at least not yet.
Her breath hitches as she looks over Amelia’s face. As much as she doesn’t like admitting it, she missed her. “Amy.” With a mumble, Y/N stands up, dusting off her scrubs.
“Amelia, no one calls me Amy anymore.” She says with a small smile. Y/N just nods, putting it to her mind. “I haven’t seen you in a while.”
“Yeah.”
Amelia scratches the back of her neck. “So, Addison called you.”
“She did.” The pictures are starting to crease in her grip. “There’s a..baby, obviously, uhm, and she needed help.” She clears her throat, looking around for an exit. “I actually have to make a surgery plan for tomorrow, so, I’ll see you around, I guess.”
Going to walk past Amelia, she stops once a hand takes hold of her arm. “Could we talk? Just the two of us, later today.”
The ask makes Y/N hesitant, but the way Amelia is looking at her makes her give in. “Okay.”
“Awesome,” a smile spreads on Amelia’s face, “coffee, after work?”
“I’ll see you then.” She lets go and Y/N walks away, Amelia’s eyes never leaving her back.
Amelia paces around the lobby of the hospital, her mind racing a mile a minute. She has always considered Y/N her biggest love, maybe even soulmate, if she truly believes in them. Seeing her again has brought the feelings back to the surface and she isn’t sure what to do with them.
Her thoughts come to a halt when she notices Y/N walking towards her. Instead of her scrubs, she’s now wearing her everyday clothes. She looks just as beautiful as she did all those years ago. And she decides to tell her so, “you look beautiful.” Y/N hums with a slight smile, her cheeks turn warm, but she pays no mind to it. “There’s a small cafe down the street.”
“Let’s go then.” As they walk side by side, Y/N bites the inside of her cheek, looking down at the pavement. The silence is uncomfortable and they desperately want to break it, but neither of them know what’s appropriate to say in a situation like this. “How have you been?” Y/N decodes to ask, glancing at Amelia.
“Better. A lot better actually. I’ve been sober for a long time, though it’s still hard sometimes. I got two new sisters, sort of,” she chuckles, “Meredith and Maggie. And I’m the head of neuro department.”
“I heard about Derek. I’m sorry.”
“Yeah.” Amelia sighs. “It’s okay.” She opens the door of the cafe for Y/N before stepping inside herself. At the counter, they order their coffees, and when it comes time to pay, Amelia pushes Y/N’s hand away from the machine. “My treat.” She pays both of their coffees.
“You didn’t have to.”
“I wanted to.” They move to the other side pf the counter to wait for their coffees. “It’s the least I can do after,” she pauses, “everything.”
“It wasn’t completely your fault.” She looks away from her. “You were going through a tough time.”
“That’s no excuse. I hurt you and drove away one of the best things in my life.”
Being one of the best things in her life sounds like an exaggeration, but the sincerity in Amelia’s eyes makes her believe she really means it. “You’re also important to me.” Before the conversation van keep on going, the barista shouts their names. They take their coffees and find a quiet corner place to sit.
“So, what have you been doing all there years?”
“I moved around with Doctors Without Borders.” Y/N sips her drink. “Also studied a bit on the side.”
“And your love life?”
If Amelia was anything, she was blunt. If she wanted know something, she’d ask, Y/N usually liked her unfiltered talk. “Love life, huh?” She giggles with a shake of her head. “There were some flings and one time things, you know, to release stress I suppose. But nothing that stayed.” Amelia listens intently while she drinks her coffee. “And you?”
She shrugs. “There was Link and Kai, but just like every relationship I have had, they ended with someone’s heart broken.” Amelia has a grin on her face. She has already gotten over the past two relationships, but it’s still disheartening to have failed relationships.
“Hm, you’ll find your person.”
“Maybe,” Amelia keeps eye contact with Y/N, “I really hope so.”
Looking down, Y/N taps the mug in front of her with her nails, all the feelings around them getting overwhelming. “Listen,” she changes the subject, “could you be in the surgery tomorrow? I need someone to monitor her brain activity, and you are the best there is.” She lifts her head to give Amelia a teasing look. “Or at least you used to be. Have you gotten worse over the years?”
“Worse? Do you know who you’re talking to? I’m better than ever.” Amelia answers to the teasing look with a challenging look of her own. “What I’m hearing is, you need my help because you aren’t in the best shape.” Her elbows are leaning against the table.
“Oh, wow.” Y/N crosses her arms. “Your ego is still sky high.”
Amelia laughs, which Y/N giggle as well.
The surgery has been going on for six hours already, and the whole room is tense. Amelia and Addison are monitoring the baby’s health, while Y/N is rerouting the veins near the heart. The surgery is already nearing its end, but there’s still things to do.
Y/N lets out a sigh, shaking her hand to ease the pain in her wrist. It has stayed on one position for a long time. She can feel multiple pairs of eyes on the side of her head, there’s an audience in the viewing room. This is an once in a lifetime surgery after all. Double checking everything she has done, Y/N lifts her head to her friends. “Are his vitals good?” The two nod. “Alright, we’re ready to close.” She says shakily, not ready to relax just yet. But she can feel the relief coursing through the room.
The sutures closing the opening on the baby’s chest don’t take long, as the wound isn’t as big as on an adult. The moment the last suture is on its place, people in the viewing room start cheering, so do the doctors in the operation room. Addison and one other doctor take the baby to NICU, not before thanking Y/N though.
Walking out of the room, Y/N slumps down to a chair, taking off her scrub cap. Amelia sits down next to her. “Watching you work is seriously magnificent.”
Y/N laughs, “you’re being dramatic.”
“I’m not!” Amelia throws her arm around Y/N’s shoulders, giving her a side hug. “You’re incredibly and I love you.” Y/N turns to look at her. “Give me another chance? Go on a date with me?”
“Okay.”
“Yeah?” Amelia grins widely.
“Yeah.” Y/N smiles too, her heart beating a hundred miles. She isn’t sure if it’s from the surgery she just did, or the fact that Amelia is looking at her like she’s the only person she cares about.
Amelia nods, feeling like she just won the lottery. “I’ll pick you up at eight, wear something pretty.” She kisses her cheek before walking off, going straight to Addison to tell the good news.

Hey! Hope you're okay! I wonder if you could do an addison montgomery x reader where she finds out you self harm? And maybe even a Rafa Barba/Alex Cabot one? Don't worry if it's too triggering. Keep being amazing ❤️

⚠️Trigger Warning⚠️ This one-shot includes the topic of self harm. The plot is presented. If this triggers you too easily or you just can´t handle the subject, I urge you NOT to read this work. I am NOT embellishing this topic under any circumstance. Read at your own risk.

The sun was slowly dipping towards the horizon as Addison made her way to your house. She had not seen her best friend in a week, and that made her spontaneously stop by to check on you, her concern growing with each passing day without contact. The redhead knew you had been under a lot of stress lately, often withdrawn and thoughtful and she just wanted to make sure you were okay.
When she reached your well-kept house, she rang the doorbell and waited patiently. But even after the second ring and subsequent knock, she did not hear any footsteps or a key being inserted into the lock to open the door. It was quiet. Too quiet for her liking.
A little uneasy, she stumbled down the terrace and shuffled around the house, hoping that she would find you there. When the certified gynecologist entered your garden and walked towards the terrace, she could already see you from afar. You sat on one of the lawn chairs, staring at the ground.
Your hair, which had once been so soft and shiny, seemed dull and unkempt. They lay disheveled on your head like a bird's nest. She could clearly see that you did not look well - your eyes were puffy, with deep circles under your eyes while your skin had taken on a pale tone. You seemed absent, not even noticing her, your vision was clouded and your eyes had a shadow that the redhead had never seen in you before.
“Y/n?” Addison called out quietly so as not to scare you. Still, you jumped and turned your head to look at her, nervously tugging at the sleeves of your sweater. Your eyes seemed empty but you still tried to force a smile at her. "Addy. What are you doing here?"
Addison Montgomery walked closer to you, sat down on one of the comfortable lawn chairs and placed her bag in her lap. "I am worried about you, sweetie. You do not look well. How are you?" she asked carefully, reaching out her hand. She carefully took your cold fingers and intertwined them with hers, the redheads thumbs twirling tender circles over the pale skin.
The gynecologist felt her heart beat faster as she looked at you and was met with total physical coldness. You sighed deeply and looked past her into the distance to avoid her gaze. She noticed that you were acting strangely, you were usually like an open book to her, but now you seemed to be hiding something. "I am fine."
With a short tug, you pulled your hand away from her and for a brief moment your sleeve, which you had previously placed above your upper knuckles, slipped up. Fine red lines decorated your wrist and Addison swallowed hard. Her heart sank when she realized what was going on and how bad you were feeling. Some of them were still quite fresh while others had already turned a purple color and were trying to close up in order to heal.
With shaking hands, she grasped your hand again, pulled it towards her and stared at it for a moment before gently pulling the material up and seeing the full extent of your feelings. She stared at you, stunned. She could not believe what she was seeing. "Oh darling.. You could have spoken to me. I am here to listen to you and help you when you need me."
You finally let the tears you had held back for weeks flow and let out all the emotions you had suppressed for so long. "Your job is so stressful and your relationship with Derek is at a dead end. I did not want to be an unnecessary burden on you." you whispered and Addison immediately jumped up from her seat and hugged you tightly as she rocked you back and forth.
"I am here for you. We will get through this together," she whispered soothingly and you sniffled loudly, trying to calm yourself down. She sensed the eerie tension in the air, but still encouraged you to continue. You hesitated for a moment before you continued speaking with a hiccup between each word, all your worries and fears flowing out of your system. "I feel like I have lost myself."
Addy smiled softly and stroked your hair lightly, listening to you carefully and reassuring you that she would stand by you. She struggled for the right words when she saw how fragile and vulnerable you seemed and was afraid of saying the wrong thing. "You are not lost. You just went astray and we will find the right path again. We will find a way to deal with this."
You nodded, your tears not stopping falling. You sat in silence on the terrace for a while, holding each other in your arms and feeling your friendship grow even stronger. The evening sun bathed the place in warm light and painted a sad picture on the white wall of the house. "Thank you, Addy."
Addison knew it would be a long journey to bring you out of your darkness, but she was determined to be there for you and support you through this difficult time. She had discovered that her best friend had been in a moment of despair, and she knew that together you could overcome any challenge because your friendship was strong enough to overcome anything while finding your way back to the light together.
This was just the beginning of a long and painful process, but together you were able to overcome it. Albeit with a lot of time.

not a request necessarily i just love talking about addison
imagine if youre really unwell during a shift and addison finds out and goes to see you. when she gets there her heart aches. you’re her best fellow and also…
smaller little imagine
i’m here
Addison hadn’t seen you for a few hours. Ever since your surgery a while ago, she hasn’t seen you roaming the halls. She imagined you were just tired, as the two of you didn’t get much sleep last night after another surgery, which took all night.
And truth be told, after any surgery you usually crash for an hour or two - even just after a routine procedure. But she was getting worried now because it’s nearing five hours and you still haven’t reappeared.
Not to mention you missed breakfast with her, and from the people she’s spoken with, you haven’t left the on-call room you entered earlier.
Izzie offered to show her to the on-call room she spotted you entering earlier today. She stops in front of the door, “She should be in there.”
“Thank you, Dr. Stevens. I owe you,” Addison presses her lips together in a tight and anxious smile.
“It’s no problem, really,” Izzie nods vigorously. “I am just as worried about her as you are.”
Addison takes a deep breath and tries to reassure herself that nothing is wrong with you, but is unable to calm her nerves. The only person who is able to do that these days is you.
She furrows her eyes and prays you’re just sleeping as she opens the door with a creak. On the other side of the door is you laying in a fetal position on the bed. She tilts her head trying to figure out what’s wrong with you, and it comes to her when you let out a strangled cough.
Addison moves to sit on the end of the bed, her gentle hand coming to soothingly rub your shoulder.
“Mm,” You roll over towards her, your face coming to smoosh itself into her side. “I’m tired, Addie.”
“I see,” Addison nodded and ran her hand through your hair. It was damp with sweat and her suspicions came true when she turned her hand over to put on your forehead. “I think you’re sick, darling.”
“No,” You shake your head. “I can’t be. We have surgeries to get to. What time is it?”
“Uh..” Addison looks at her phone, seeing it’s about ten in the morning. “Five hours?”
“What?!” You try to sit up, but you begin to get dizzy so you have to lay back down.
“It’s okay, I promise,” Addison’s hands make their way back to your scalp.
“Just give me a few minutes,” One of your hands makes it to Addison’s thigh, and her other hand comes down to hold yours.
“No, you need to rest,” She squeezes your hand reassuringly.
You groan.
“Why didn’t you tell me you weren’t feeling good?” Addison frowns down at you. “I would have let you sit a surgery out.”
“Because I felt much better earlier,” You promised. “My throat was a little sore, but now I feel like death. I don’t know if I can stand without passing out.”
“Well it’s a great thing you’re surrounded by doctors, now, isn’t it?” Addison moves a piece of your hair and tucks it behind your ear. “How about you just rest for a few more hours and we’ll reevaluate after.”
Addison moves to get up, but you attempt to pull her back, and she looks at you with her eyebrows raised.
“Please stay,” You cry softly. “Your skin is cold and I’m hot.”
“Okay,” Addison gives in, sliding under the covers beside you. “I’ll cancel my surgeries for the next few hours, okay? We’ll push them back.”
You lay your head on Addison’s chest so you can feel her heart beating - there’s a weird comfort to it - and her arms wrap around your shoulders to hold you against her.
“Wait we have that big surgery later—“ You try to sit up again, but Addison pulls you back to her chest.
“I don’t care,” Addison says. “If you need me here, I’m here.”
“Okay,” Your hand finds a sliver of skin that is exposed from her scrub top lifting, and it rests there.
Addison swallows nervously, trying to ignore how good your hand feels on hers as she pulls her phone out to text Callie to let her know to cancel all her surgeries.
Because her heart ached for you, and if you wanted or needed her, she would be there in a heartbeat.

Angel
Addison Montgomery x Reader
Summary: Going home with Addie after a long shift at the hospital
Tumblr media
Today was…a lot. 3 surgeries back to back really took a toll on you. You, Meredith, and Cristina were now laying on stretchers in your usual hallway, it was 3 am and almost the end of your shift before you saw a familiar redhead approaching.
“Hey, y/n/n..Grey, yang” she gave them a weak smile before you got up, walking to her and throwing yourself on her, closing your eyes as she wrapped her arms around you. You heard chuckles behind you and raised your arm from around Addison’s waist, giving them the finger.
“Remind me, mer..” you heard Cristina’s snicker, “is this the same person who’s been making fun of us for months for dating our attendings?”. you saw Izzie making her way in, too. “Oh..” she stopped behind Addison with a raised brow to see your face nuzzled in the older redhead’s shoulder.
“Don’t. Say. A word” you warned with a glare and she looked down to stifle a laugh, failing miserably as she looked at the pair behind you. Addison ran a hand through your hair. “See, she chose well, unlike you two. McDreamy and Cocky heart master” you were sure she made a face at them because they shat up immediately.
“You’re on my service next week, Stevens” She stated, letting you go and looked around at them, “now go home, all of you, you stink” you were going to laugh but you knew you were definitely not an exception. You’ve been doing surgeries for the past 48 hours.
“Yes, Dr. Montgomery” they grumbled, taking their stuff and leaving the hospital with you before you parted ways and you and Addison walked home, hands together as you shivered. “Tell me again why we decided to walk to work?” You looked to your side to see Addison’s flushed face, “because the weather was amazing, unlike many days”
You sighed, recognizing the turn to your house and felt relieved that you wouldn’t have to shiver for much longer. Addison’s hand let go of yours and before you were going to protest, you felt her wrap her arm around you tightly. “Better?” she asked, kissing your hair.
Nodding, you kissed her hand that was on your shoulder. You really felt like a hypocrite for falling in love with an attending a few days after you made fun of Meredith for dating Shepherd, but when you saw his ex wife, you were honest with meredith when telling her you didn’t know why he’d leave a woman like her.
“She cheated on him” she stated and you shrugged, “Seriously, y/l/n?” Cristina chimed in, “She’s ‘Satan’ for a reason” she sipped on her juicbox and you sighed. “I’m not an angel, either” you finished your lunch before going to check on your patient.
“Angel?” her voice brought you back to the present. You blinked before turning your head to look at her, “hm?” you saw her beautiful face, illuminated by the street lights.
She gave you a smile, “you really were making fun of them?” you scoffed, looking away, nodding. She chuckled, kissing your temple, “my little hypocrite” You smiled, unlocking the front door to your house and letting Addison in before locking it and getting in.
She moved in a few weeks ago, long before your friends knew about you two when she asked to crash in after an argument with Derek and you agreed, letting her in from the rain.
You took your coat off, hanging it next to the door before following Addison upstairs to your newly - shared bedroom. You saw her taking out her coziest pyjamas from the closet and rose a brow as you saw her take out a second set of pyjamas.
“Join me?” she offered, walking up to you and taking your hands in hers and kissing your knuckles. “Yes” you said with no hesitation whatsoever.
She let out a sigh of relief before taking you to the bathroom, where you saw the bath already filled with bubbles in it. The weight on your shoulder disappearing as soon as you got in the tub and felt Addison behind you, pulling your head to lay on her shoulder.
“Love you” she kissed your cheek, sighing in relief as she felt your tense shoulders finally relax against her, “love you, too Addie”

— Boa noite, Doutora Montgomery. Tudo bem se eu me juntar a você?
— Eu sei. Acredite, eu entendo.
A ruiva te observa atentamente,.
— Você me parece alguém interessante.
— Desculpe-me. Aqui não é lugar para fazermos isso. O meu corpo realmente se descontrolou e... — Ela respira fundo, tentando encontrar as palavras necessárias.
