                   Mab's  shoulders  draw  inwards  from  her  straight  posture  and  her  lips  curl  downwards  into  a  frown  as  she  rests  her  cheek  upon  her  open  palm  from  where  she  rests  upon  the  velvet  armchair  of  her  chambers.  For  nearly  two  hours  now,  the  mortal  boy  has  been  tailing  her  as  though  a  stray  kitten,  pleading  for  her  to  alter  the  name  given  to  him  upon  his  rebirth  ―  a  tool  of  power,  and  one  that,  upon  given,  can  not  be  altered  with  even  the  strongest  of  magics.  And  yet,  here  the  boy  is,  attempting  just  that.  She  cannot  claim  he  is  dim-witted,  for  he  wasted  not  his  time  with  small  tricks  and  magicians  but  rather,  went  straight  to  the  Creator  ;  the  being  responsible  for  all  that  there  was,  is,  and  all  that  there  will  yet  be.

                   Eddie  is  not  dim-witted,  although,  she  cannot  quite  claim  the  same  for  the  boy  not  being  pestering  and  irksome.  Damn  his  affiliation  with  her  great  grandson.

                   ❛  Do  tell  me,  my  boy,  ❜  Breathly  sighs  Mab.  The  drapes  of  her  silken  dress  sway  as  she  graciously  crosses  one  elegant  leg  over  the  over,  as  though  moved  by  the  softest  of  breezes  and  golden  eyes  are  fixated  upon  the  former  mortal  whilst  one  sharp  clawed  digit  taps  away  at  her  cheek.  ❛  What  shall  you  have  to  deal  with  when  faced  with  the  name  that  no  one  ought  to  know  other  than  yourself  ?  ❜

"Please." How many times had the word crossed his lips in the past five minutes, a fierce desperation in wide eyes as he beseeched her the only way he could? There was nothing Eddie could offer, not really -- It was Mab, for crying out loud. But that didn't mean he was just going to let his name ruin his life. "You have to. Do you have any idea what I'm gonna have to deal with if you don't change it?"
