( The video seems to begin in the middle of a situation. It's soon clear that it's from Denko's perspective. His view darts over to a scarfed variant of himself: the one who calls himself the Writer. He's on a knee, appearing pretty roughed up. )

With how important this is for Rainbow Rocket, the Taskforce getting involved would basically be declaring war on us.

Nobody would like that, would they?

( It can be assumed that Denko was the instigator in the fight that gave Writer those bruises. )

"What makes you so sure?"

( Despite his apparent condition, Writer stands up. )

"The Alola incident from however long ago for you lot, that happens in so many universes. So standardized, you're probably just one of many Rainbow Rockets, unknowingly fighting amongst each other to conquer the multiverse."

( What the hell was he on about? )

"There's only one Taskforce, and they're much more than a group of pubescent children."

( Forget this. Writer would probably die from another attack, so Denko rushes forward with full intent on finishing the job. )

( Wh!- )

( Writer gracefully avoids his attack, causing him to trip over and eat dirt. It was an act! )

"I'm right, aren't I?"

( Denko growls, gripping the ground and pushing himself up. Who does this guy think he is?? )

( Pissed off, Denko opens his mouth and reveals a piece of information that he may not have been supposed to say. )

They won't be around in the story we're writing.

( Even so, Denko was too blind with rage to care. He rushes forward, determined to end his alternate self's life once and for all, before... )

( ...! )

( The familiar and the unfamiliar, all at once... )

( A new presence has joined the field, rocketing into his side and knocking him unconscious. )

( Denko has fainted. )

( . . . )

( He's alone by the time he wakes back up. It must've been Emma who intervened. )

Fucking hell...

( Sharing a chuckle with himself, he staggers back up and props himself up against a tree, feeling the sun beaming down on him. )

We're even now, but just you wait...

( Denko seems to push himself into the tree before the video suddenly cuts. )

( The person he was talking to was in a full body protective suit, complete with Rainbow Rocket insignia branded on their torso. )

( The mission in question was to confuse the Taskforce, who Denko figured would retaliate for the agent's sake. New faces were already showing up around town, and scans indicated that they possessed technology not of this universe. )

( Nodding, indicating that they were ready for whatever was about to happen, their form began to shift and warp, growing masses of fur and their physical appearance changing before Denko's eyes. )

( When it was over, Denko found themself looking at a perfect replication of his own form. This ally was to act as if they were Denko; Not only in anticipation that the Taskforce would capture them, but to make everyone think, even for a second, that he wasn't the culprit in this. )

( Should buy the real Denko more time to complete the larger mission. )

( The mirror image takes a device and fits it onto their waist, before turning it on and transforming once more into a seemingly mild-mannered human. Holoform, similar in functionality to a Zoroark's illusions; An imperfect disguise, perfect for fooling the Taskforce. )

( The lack of porygon2 code for Writer to look through made this fact evident. With their lies exposed, the imposter lifts their Zeraora disguise and reveals their true form as another member of Rainbow Rocket. )

( Their mission was complete and a massive success. Even as they're apprehended once more, they wear a big grin behind that mask. )

A large population of shadow Pokémon has been spotted around these coordinates.

( The link is a Sligoogle Maps entry for an area of a forest not close to any region or other human society. )

Initially, they were dismissed as natural, but a deployed field ranger witnessed a normal Pokémon suddenly becoming a shadow Pokémon; It's to be assumed that this was how the large shadow Pokémon population came to be.

Upon their return, the ranger began experiencing a sharp decrease in awareness and mood, consistent with the behavior of artificially created shadow Pokémon. Recovery is slow, but progressing.

This indicates that there is a high possibility of an airborne substance being the cause. Please exercise caution when deciding whether to investigate or not.

"During our cooperation with the Cipher branch, we discovered something interesting. The process of shadowification accompanied a manifestation of the subject to form within this other realm."

"When standard procedure concluded, a fortified structure appeared around the manifested subject. Repeated tests have allowed us to conclude that this is a consistent behavior."

( This other realm seems to be connected with the shadowification process. A fortified structure - In other words, a fortress - locking in a manifested subject… )

( One could deduce that the manifested subject was, in fact, a visual representation of its emotions. )

"This experiment is to determine the viability of using the other realm to create shadow Pokémon."
