I can see Alastor grazing his hand across most objects in the hotel e.g curtains, counter tops, the works. And being visibly and audibly taken aback by unpleasant textures

deer ears can hear more than doubly as loud as humans can, so I imagine he dislikes loud crowds for that reason

When he’s distressed he almost immediately calls Rosie

This may be me projecting, but he’d probably be really competent with masking until he gets really out of it

a lot of his stims that aren’t in his one privacy/around Rosie would be rather subtle, e.g humming, tapping his fingers on various surfaces, etc

he'd repeat the same words multiple times if he likes how it sounds, or how it feels to say it

Echolalia Alastor is such a good headcannon, as he always seems to be humming a little tune while he’s occupied or just wandering around the hotel!

A few neurodivergent coded Alastor and Lucifer headcanons cause I think they're neat :)

(Just a reminder that these are just some things I thought of, and there's probably a bunch of reasons that they couldn't be canon or whatever, but I don't think they need to be canon, they just make me happy.)

- Alastor fluctuates between making absolutely no eye contact, to basically staring someone down during casual conversation, there's no in-between - Lucifer has the kind of eye contact that'll look at your eyes for maybe 5-10 seconds before looking at something else for a similar duration of time, before looking back, repeat cycle Lucifer's mostly sensory avoidant, and tries to keep his lights dim or off, and will actively walk out mid-conversation if it's too loud, or too many people are talking (Note: This one was advised by my sensory avoiding friend, I'm more sensory seeking, and I wanted to be accurate with this, if you have any notes, please let me know) Alastor almost always has some noise in the background, (usually some random radio broadcast)and can't stand silence. Whenever he feels like it, he'll pace around his room because seeing the change in surroundings as he goes is just stimulating enough, and he generally prefers stronger flavors. (Note: This one's based on my experiences, and may just be me projecting idk)

-Lucifer's stimming is usually tactile, like spinning a pen, tapping a table, and other subtle things like that

- Alastor's are more verbal, like repeating a word, humming, clicking his tongue etc.

Autistic Alastor headcanons (pt 2: safe foods and non-safe food)

We all know that Alastor loves meat and he prefers to eat it raw, so it is safe to say that meat is one of his safe foods. I believe that Alastor doesn't like his meat cooked at all, but sometimes he prefers it to be slightly warm, as it reminds him of his mother's cooking from when he was alive. Alastor also sees food as a love language, and having warm food allows him to feel more connected to his mom.

He also enjoys various soups and stews.

He hates vegetables, so he often has to add them as a puree when he is cooking. He doesn't do this as often in hell as he used to when he was alive, but Rosie has caught onto this trick, and so when she and Alastor cook, she'll add vegetable puree because that's the only way that he will eat it.

He hates fruit, he finds it to be too tart, and it overwhelms his taste buds. Fruit is probably one of his most hated foods, as the taste just overwhelms him completely, and makes him feel like he wants to cut off his tongue.

As for desserts, he obviously hates sweets so he usually goes for more savoury options. He usually doesn't eat desserts but when he does he'll settle for plain vanilla ice cream, or vanilla cake with no frosting. He likes the taste of salted caramel but he hates the sticky texture of it.

He likes spicy food and always adds different Cajun spices to his food.

He doesn't like eating out because he wants to be able to see what is being put in his food, and he doesn't trust other people to make it the way that he likes it.

Even if Rosie cooks for him, he has to observe what she is doing.

Autistic Alastor Headcanons (pt 1: stimming)

Stimming (in public): Alastor stims a lot, when in public he typically stims by twirling his cane or taping it against his leg or foot. He usually tries his best not to tap because he feels like it draws too much attention and makes him look anxious, which is the exact opposite of what he is trying to be when around others. He also uses his shadow as an extension of himself when seeking stimulation. For example, if he's feeling restless, he'll have his shadow wander around the hotel or the Pentagram in search of a new foe, butcher shop, or areas in the hotel that Niffty missed when cleaning. Sometimes he'll just send his shadow out to get some fresh air.

Stimming (in private): one of Alastor's stims is rocking himself, he usually does this when he's focused on a task or enjoying himself. He may also do this when he is having a meltdown in an attempt to self-soothe, however, the rocking turns more into thrashing and could cause him to hit his head. He has other stims ex. flapping his hands, bouncing on his feet, standing on his tippy-toes (or hooves), blinking his eyes rapidly, and moving his head and neck around a lot. Due to Alastor being very self-conscious, he tries to repress his stims even when he's alone (this goes back to his childhood, my fics give more info). This causes him to build up a lot of tension which can lead to a meltdown in the future. A way to combat this is to have Rosie around, as she will encourage Alastor to stim to his heart's content. She will join in on his stims to help encourage his ex. if he is bouncing on his feet then she will bounce with him, if he is feeling self-conscious about stimming then she will put on music to try and get him excited (music is one of his special interests), if they are listening to music then Rosie may flap her hands or rock her body back and forth to show Alastor that it is ok to stim. This kind of encouragement has allowed Alastor to become more comfortable with stimming when he is by himself, yes he is still self-conscious, but his healing is a slow process.
