Trying to get that 1d4+1 healing from my chicken soup.
It's gotta work eventually, right?

Support Victims y'all, Shubble did an incredibly brave thing in talking about the abuse she faced. That's not an easy thing to talk about, let alone to thousands of strangers.
Support Victims in speaking out about their experience, accept that sometimes everyone needs to heal in a situation, but that doesn't excuse abusive behaviour.
Also, separating art from an artist does jack all when the money is still going into their pocket.
And stop bothering people for statements. Give people a moment to process, and let people give support in private. Give people space and offer support where you can. If you can afford to, donate money to causes that can help stop this from happening again.
Also If you're one of the people going "why didn't she phone the police, why this, why that," Maybe educate yourself on how reporting abuse often leads to escalation rather than resolution once the police leave.

On a related note, a lot of the gadgets you see advertised in infomercials and similar places are helpful to people who are disabled.
Gadgets that help to cut vegetables are great because being able to do a big push is easier than fine motor skills for many people (also cutting veg can get really slippy with things like tomatoes or cucumber, which can be really dangerous)
Automatic stirirs are great if repetitive motion is something that causes pain.
These things aren't "unnecessary tat for lazy People" they're genuinely useful tools that have to be sold in a roundabout way that makes them more affordable for the people who do need them.
i don’t know if i’m mad or just amused bc i recently saw a tiktok about a disability aid for the kitchen, like a modified tool for cooking.
and someone duetted and was like “that is so unnecessary just use it like normal”,
and someone rightfully commented “that’s a bit ableist, there are disabled people who need these things.”
and person 1 fucking said “bestie i’m disabled, i just mobility aids for cooking too and it’s still unnecessary”.
MOBILITY AIDS FOR COOKING??? do u know what a mobility aid is???? like yes you might use your wheelchair while cooking or hold your cane while cooking but you can’t use it FOR cooking???
if you don’t know the difference between a mobility aid and a disability aid & are also gonna throw other disabled people with different needs than you under the bus, shut up!!!!!!

Well in a shocking turn of events, surprising absolutely no one, Rishi Sunak has abolished the position of Ministry of Disability.
That's right, The UK Prime Minister has abolished the position responsible for ensuring the rights and needs of Disabled people are upheld.
Make no mistake, Disabled people are being targeted as some of the people least likely to be able to fight back.
If you think this doesn't affect you, you're absolutely incorrect. Anyone regardless of age, race, gender, income, anything, can become disabled. Disability is a part of being human.
A government that is so willing to destroy the lives of 25% of their citizens is unacceptable and change needs to happen.
If you're unable to make it to any events and rallies being organised, write to your local MP. Spread the word on how many people this will effect.
The UK Government have shown time and time again that they do not give an ounce of a damn about people who are disabled. If they want to fuck with us, let's make it one hell of a task for them.
Don't let yourself be silenced.
Hey guys, IRL Autumn here. As much as I'd love to be here with my usual jokes, This is something much more serious.
For those who don't know, the UK government has recently announced plans to cut Disabled benefits by 4.6K a year if a person isn't or won't find a work from home position.
To massively simplify the current system, Disabled benefits have 2 levels of pay, depending on your capacity for work. Those who are deemed fully incapable of work get full pay, and those who can work part time, or in a select few low impact workplaces get half pay.
The new system would require everyone no matter where they lay on that scale to find employment. For the thousands, if not millions of people that have been declared fully incapable of work, this means bending over backwards for an impossible task.
And the pay cut for those who "refuse" to comply (which in reality is the vast majority being completely unable to comply to impossible demands) is not an insignificant amount.
That is a payment reduction of over half of what that person currently recieves. An amount that already is barely sufficient to survive on.
Being disabled is inherently expensive, be it due to needing specialized equipment, specific transport needs or even specific needs in general day-to-day living.
This is not a scheme to help the current system which is admittedly underfunded. This is a system designed to force disabled people to sacrifice themselves for an unsustainable system, or die trying.
And believe me, there will be death.
This is a deliberate target of some of the most vulnerable people in our society.
This is not "toughing through the hard times for the good of the country"
This is a slaughter.

i cant speak for everyone but i feel like it's underrated just how much impact being physically disabled has on mental health. because physically disabled people often have to remind others that we struggle with mental health issues that it sometimes sounds like an afterthought to others. but it's a real impact of being physically disabled. being unable to go outside or leave the bed worsens depression. having actively declining health worsens depression because part of depression is being unable to imagine a future for yourself. it also creates anxiety. you have to rely on people. on carers, family, the government. it's hard to assure anxiety when you are in a precarious position and the "worst case scenario" is not something you can circumvent or deal with, because lack of care will kill you. has killed people like you. being told you are worthless, that people like you should die or never live in the first place has a big impact on mental health. being physically disabled and unable to defend yourself, being forced to rely on people, opens up a lot of opportunities for abuse and trauma. being in pain is traumatic, medical procedures may be traumatic - and being a disabled child leads you to be doubly vulnerable. people often have to focus on their physical needs to keep them alive - to keep them clean and fed and such. and with such little energy to spare it is difficult to manage mental health. all the stigma surrounding mental health doesn't disappear because you're already disabled. sometimes when you do reach out people will just focus on trying to make you less disabled in order to cure the mental illness issue, instead of giving you the tools to help manage it in your current and real life.

If no one believed the government wants anyone on benefits to always be struggling and suffering, then look at how they quick they are to announce they going to basically treat anyone on benefits like criminals for daring to save money.

It's now been just over 2 weeks since this announcement, and things are concerningly quiet about it.
Sure if you go looking for it you'll find small groups online of mostly disabled people discussing it, but other than that, no updates, no answers to any questions or concerns, just silence.
The vast majority of the outcry has come from people who are disabled. And is met with backlash from abled people who don't have the context, or don't care.
Purely annecdotal evidence, but within my family, despite the government plan to cut disability pay by 4.6K, my aunt believes that I should be giving more money to my mum. Purely because once every couple of months I travel to visit friends.
Once every 2 months, I spend about £100 on a 2 way train ticket and some meals out with friends. Often times due to my mental health and severe anxiety, this will be the only time I leave the house, and getting to spend some time having fun with friends is the only thing that can curb that anxiety enough for me to exit out my own damn front door. And I'm made to feel guilty about it?
To many people in the general public, Disabled people should either be suffering severely from their disabilities and become a pittu story, or "get over it" and spend significant time and energy on trying to function.
Hell, even better, do both and become "an inspiration to us all" like some form of sentient motivational cat poster.

We are contractually obligated to have a mysterious stranger sitting in the shadowy corner of the tavern.
Ours is called Halcoril, he showed up about a year ago and I don't think I've seen him eat or blink in about a year...
Tegan seems to like him though.

Look, I know you want to keep your +3 enchanted sword of fire on you or whatever. But please stop using "it's in case of mimics!" As an excuse.
My tavern is (as all responsible tavern owners should be) a certified mimic free environment, you can see the plaque right next to the door.
We have a protected storage area for a reason, but I am not cleaning up after another bar fight that someone decided that using their 'Greater demon blade of slashing' was a good idea.
And yes Brynnar, you are still barred, I don't care that you defeated the evil litch king, you tried to cast fireball on three different members of my staff for a discount.

Hey so uhhh... Theoretically, how expensive would it be to hire a hypnotist to put someone to sleep every night? Asking for a friend.
Because apparently strong sleeping potions are "dangerous" and "not allowed by the general public" and "outlawed by the high council" which is a bit rude of them really.
